might distribute your media
product and why?

2. A institution is a profitable organisation that disperses a
media product for audience consumption.
What is an institution?

3. As my thriller opening is the first film I have made I decided to
make it a low budget looking film with no high tech special effects,
an unknown cast etc. So decided as it is a low budget independent
film I would need to find a company who was also independent and
not as well known and big compared to a distribution company
such as twentieth century fox as a smaller distribution company
was also more likely to distribute it. Also by using a more
independent and less mainstream film company it means it would
not interfere with what I have in my film and what I should add to it
to make it to fit their standards making it more of a original film. So
the distribution company I decided to go with was DNA films.

4. DNA films is a British film production company and is
founded by Andrew Macdonald and his producing partner
Allon Reich, it it one of the most successful distribution
companies located in the UK, it is located in London. This
would also be an advantage because of the fact that it is
located in the UK making it easier, compared to if I was using
a big more main stream distribution company as these are
usually located in the USA. DNA films is also known for
distributing films with the same genre as my own film. Such
as 28 days later and 28 weeks later.

5. As well as DNA films I also considered using Movie
mogul which is another small independent company
established in 2007. However I decided to go with DNA
films as they seemed to have distributed a few more
films which would make them slightly more
experienced, and also because I based my thriller
opening on a film like 28 days later which is a film they
distributed.

6. In Conclusion DNA films is a media institution which I
believe might distribute my media product as my film is
a low budget independent film, which is the sort of
films that they distribute and the genre of my film is
also the same as some of the films they have
distributed. It is also a company in which I would want
to use as it is not mainstream which means my film can
stay original.
