3. Our Logo and Slogan
Slogan: Rise above bullying.
Our logo and slogan are both based
around giraffes. Giraffes are tall and
can metaphorically rise above
bullying. If we can all also learn to rise
above bullying, we can end bullying
world wide.
4. Our Big Goal
Our big goal is to end bullying world wide. We want to do this because;
● ⅓ of all children are victims of bullying
● Bullies and victims are more likely to suffer from mental health issues
● Victims are 2.6% more likely to attempt suicide
● Bullies themselves are usually victims as well but don’t seek proper help
● The majority of bullying cases go unreported
5. Facts about Bullying
● 1 in 3 kids are bullied with the other two being bystanders
● 160,000 kids skip school each day because they’re being bullied
● Teachers only stop bullies 4% of the time
● 1 in 10 students drop out of school because of bullying
● ⅓ of bullying victims go on to develop social anxiety and depression
● Bullying is typically caused by a lack of communication
● From 6-12th grade about 20% of kids are bullied
6. Types of Bullying
There are many types of bullying and many places where it could happen. For
example, there’s;
● Verbal Bullying- name calling, teasing, mocking
● Physical Bullying- hitting, punching, pushing
● Cyberbullying- hurtful email, texts, or photos
● Social Bullying- spreading rumors, exclusion, pranking
In this day and age, cyberbullying is especially prominent because of the increase in
cell phone and computer usage.
7. Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying can have many effects on children, some of them are;
● Withdrawing from their family
● Slipping grades
● Avoiding school groups/ group discussions
● Being secretive and protective
15.5% of high schoolers and 24% of middle schoolers are cyber bullied. 90% of
cyberbullied children are bullied offline as well
14. Non-profit Organizations
Kind campaign:
Two college students created a documentary and non-profit organization to stop
what they call “girl on girl crime.” You can show your own story or say sorry to
someone you might have hurt.
Born This Way Foundation:
Fans of Lady Gaga know the singer is extremely passionate about her
organization. You can learn new skills to make you feel confident and powerful.
They support mental health efforts and also have projects to make a better kinder
world.
15. Non-profit Organizations
stopbullying.gov:
stopbullying.gov is a non-profit organization that can tell people what to do if they
witness someone being bullied. They also show how schools can prevent bullying
NAPAB:
NAPAB (National Association of People Against Bullying) is an organization that
spreads the word about bullying as well as offering anti-bullying education and
supports to bullying victims. If you are having a crisis, you can call their number at
1-800-273-TALK.
