delivering fresh produce to help
end hunger in the U.S.
3. Big Goal
● Our big goal is to provide fresh
produce to people that do not
have access to it
● We will be providing this service in
Hawaii, Mississippi, and Alabama

● SNAP is a national program which
helps to feed hungry families
● Supplemental Nutrition Assistance

● Debates over SNAPs affect are
active
● They help provide food for the
needy

Insecurity
● The USDA defines food insecurity
as the limited or uncertain
availability of nutritionally
adequate or safe foods. It is very
common amongst residents in
these states and in college
students around the country.

● In Hawaii 168,030 people face
hunger
● Around 54,650 children face
hunger
● People struggling report needing
$93,916,000 more for food needs
● 62% of people have to choose
between food and utilities
● The number of people that visited
the Hawaii food bank has risen
from 183,500 to 287,000
● Hawaii is greatly affected by
natural disasters such as
volcanoes and floods

● 17.1% of the population is below
the poverty line as of 2016
● 16 percent of seniors in Alabama
are below the poverty line
● 911,440 people in Alabama go

● Partnering with a multitude of
nonprofits to help us accomplish
our goal
● Hopefully our plan will spread
across the country
● We wish for less and less people
to starve

● We will begin our plan of bringing
everyone fresh produce in our 3
states we chose
● Eventually, we will slowly expand
to the whole United States
● This can be achieved by gathering
donations and volunteers
● Non-profit organizations can also
help spread our cause

● You can partner with your local
grocery store and ask for leftover
produce donations
● Also, you can go to your
community food bank and bring
them fresh produce and help them
distribute food

● Meals On Wheels: an organization
that will help us deliver the fresh
produce
● Helps 2.4 million seniors annually
● Provides the ability for every
community across the country to
aid in caring for our aging
neighbors
● Publix: a grocery store that is
owned by employees
● Provides free prescribed
medication and carryout service

wheels
