2. WHAT IS A SENTENCE?
Group of Words which gives us complete meaning or sense.
A sentence is a grammatically complete idea.
All sentences have a noun or pronoun component called the
subject, and a verb part called the predicate
Example:- You speak English.
4. DECLARTIVE SENTENCE
A sentence that states a fact.
Such sentence are simple statements.
They state , assert or declare something.
It ends with a full stop.
5. EXAMPLE
The butterflies are colorful
Akbarr is a Docotor.
Universty will open after Eid.
Ali has completed his work.
I am watching Television 📺.
6. IMPERATIVE SENTENCE
It tells Someone to do Something.
A sentence that is a command or request.
It is followed by a period ( point or Full stop).
Usually the subject is hidden in an imperative sentence , But the
Subject (You) is to be understood.
8. INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE
A sentence that is a question.
It is usually used to ask a question.
It is followed by a question mark.
9. EXAMPLE
Is Amna playing the piano?
Where are you going?
What is your Name?
Did you read Article?
10. EXCLAMATORY SENTENCE:
A sentence that expresses great emotion , Surprise or strong
feelings.
It is followed by an exclamation mark (!).
11. EXAMPLE
Wow, What a beautiful place!
My hair is on fire!
Wow , How beautiful this city is!

1. Simple Sentence
2. Compound Sentence
3. Complex Sentence
4. Compound Complex Sentences
13. SIMPLE SENTENCE:
A simple Sentence is a Sentence that contain one
independent clause.
Example:-
• Ali’s team won the Match.
• They bell rang.
14. COMPOUND SENTENCE:
A Compound Sentence is a Sentence that contain two
Independent clauses Seprated by a coordinating Conjunctions.
Example
• Ahmad watches Television, But Ali is Eating Food.
Coordinating Conjunctions are:- FANBOYS ( For, And, Nor,
But, OR, Yet, So.)
15. COMPLEX SENTENCE:
Complex Sentence is a Sentence that has an independent clause
and a dependent clause.
Two clauses are joint by a Sub-ordinating Conjunctions.
Example:-
• Amna forgot to put her name on test ,While she handed it.
16. COMPOUND COMPLEX SENTENCES:
A Compound Complex Sentences is a sentence that two
Independent clauses and a dependent clause.
Example:
• I like Mathematics but My brother likes Biology, because he wants to
be a doctor.
17. KINDS OF SENTENCES ON THE
BASIS OF FORM
MAJOR SENTENCE
Major or regular sentence is any complete sentence that contain independent clause or it has both subject and predicate.
EXAMPLE
Ali teaches English in his village to students.
MINOR SENTENCE
Minor, irregular, or one word sentences are those sentences that don’t have main verb or a subject.
EXAMPLE
A : Go
B : Come
C : Do it
