4. THE SECOND NUN’S TALE

• Cecilia was a roman by birth but raised a Christian.
• She promised to remain a virgin in observance of her faith
but she was engaged to valerian and on her wedding night
her husband that a guarded angle will kill anyone who
touches her.
• Cecilia tells Valerian that you could see angle if you would be
baptized and he would also remain chaste and Valerian
baptized by Urban Pope
• Valerian’s brother is baptized.
• They were sought by the roman’s sergeant and was brought
before Almachius and were sentenced to death
• After Valerian and his brother died, their spirit moved to
heaven
• Cecilia asked for death or leave chastity , she choices death
• She dipped in boiled water, 3 times to cut off head she
survive 3 days and she sings and converts non-believers
• Pope Urban decrees her to be a saint and on her name a
church is made.

5. • The tale start from a news the three rioters friend is killed by a thief
named Death.
• They want to find the Death and slay him
• They meet a old man who tells them that you will meet him at Oak
tree but when they go nearer to tree they find a large number of
gold. They decide to stay a night their so for food they sent the
Youngest to fetch food , water and wine.
• The Youngest decided to trick the other two and puts poison into
their wine and other two decided to kill the youngest and divide the
gold between them.
• The youngest killed by other two and two unknowingly drink
poisoned wine.
• Thus the three men do indeed find death, which was their initial goal.

6. • This story is about 7 years old schoolboy who murdered by Jews.
• At the school he learned songs in Latin in the praise of the Virgin
Mary
• Everyday , child walks along the Jewish street, boldly and clearly
singing the song
• Some Jews cut his head and throw into a latrine. The child's mother
search him and find him dead.
• At the time for burial , awed by the miracle that child continued
singing O Alma Redemptoris loudly and clearly.
• He tells the abbots that the Virgin Mary has commanded him to sing
until his burial, then a holy Monk touched the child’s tongue and took
away the pearl, allowing him to die and finally pass on the heaven.

7. • The merchant one day arrange a party and he invite his friend
monk which was very young man and handsome because he
considered his related brother .
• The monks stays over a visit one day and he runs into the
merchant's wife in the garden.
• she looks upset and admit to him ,she neglected in her
marriage and she tells him her story and she begs him to
loan her one hundred francs to buy new clothes. because her
husband will not allow her to.
• Then sir john agrees to give her the money then kisses her
and confesses his love for her . After dinner that night the
monk asks his merchant friend for a loan to buy cattle. Then
merchant happily gives him the money and leaves for burges.

This tale is on the role of position and power in this

8. • The physician tale told about father and daughter
• The Physician’s Tale involves a knight named Virginius who had it all:
lots of friends, plenty of money, and a beautiful and loving wife and
daughter. The daughter’s name was Virginia, and she in particular
was known both for her beauty and her virtuousness.
• One day, Virginia and her mother went to town on a religious errand.
A judge named Appius who ran the town caught sight of Virginia and
lusted after her, swearing he would do whatever it took to possess
her. He hatched a plan with the help of a servant, Claudius, to falsely
accuse Virginius of having kidnapped a young girl and held her in his
house against her will, pretending she was his daughter (Virginia).

• He shows many experiment to people and people believe that it is
magic and achieve goals.

THEME
the moral theme of the tale is that nobody who has money can
hold into it, and that is often lost when things are not what they
seem.
