returned to your senior English teacher by Friday, August 17, 2012. You will not be allowed to
change your topic after October 12, 2012.

The Senior Project is subject to the plagiarism policies set forth by the district and Creekview High
School.

1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.

I will be creating a short film while undertaking the role of director.

2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
I have taken three years of Broadcast & Video Production, I have created a commercial for the frozen
yogurt company “Menchie’s.”

3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
This project will correspond with the film industry; the career choice I am pursuing is a film director.

4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write
on the back of this sheet if necessary.
I will be creating a film for my senior project’s Product. First, the script must be written in
order to be able to film anything. This has been done by Naomi Burgos whose senior project is
writing a screenplay because she wants to be a writer. The screenplay has been given to me already.
Next, the storyboard must be created to represent each individual shot throughout the film, but in
order to be able to film the shots I must schedule a time and date for each location (such as Las
Palmas or Kroger) depending on where I’ll be filming at. After each shot has been drawn out, which
is the end of our pre-production or development stage, the production begins. We have to gather the
actors and crew per shoot (this step has been complete), put the required makeup on the actors,
rehearse each line for the particular scene, then film. Finally, the post production process begins
where the film is edited, music is created (recording and editing by Jacob Morgan), and piecing
everything together. In order to accomplish this I will have to plan every date, location, time, person,
etc. in advance. I will have back up plans for everything just in case of last minute cancellations. The
production starts in October and the post production will start in February.

5) How is this project a “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
My senior project consists of me being the director, creator, and leader for an entire cast and crew for
a very large production. I have to take steps in advance that I have never had to do before because if
one person were to be absent, mess something up, etc. I have to have a backup plan. I’m currently
reading more and more about what a director has to do to make his vision come alive through paper
and onto the screen.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these
costs?
At this point in time we see little to no budget in order to complete the product. Funding is not a
necessity for the Product, but there are a few things we would like to have as perks to the production.

7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator?
I have chosen Ashley Estapa as my project facilitator.

8) What is this person’s expertise in this field?
Mrs. Estapa has a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and helped write the curriculum when
Broadcast and Video Production came to Georgia. She has been teaching BVP for fifteen years.
