3. • Process Engineering, Environmental monitoring and Laboratory
Services.
• Operational Preparedness, Plant commissioning, Start-up and
Normal operation as related to Process Engineering
• Day-to-day Plant operations, Plant troubleshooting and
optimization
• Capacity enhancement and De-bottlenecking Projects
• Plant modifications through Management of Change (MOC)
Process

4. Achievements:
• Operational Readiness - 2006:
- Prepared Operation Readiness Plan for Process Technology
section. Conducted Critical review of project documents (PFDs,
P&IDs, Project specifications, etc.) at the end of the construction
phase, checked onsite installations in site walkdowns, against
P&IDs and project specifications and identified design deficiencies,
raised technical queries and non-conformity reports. Reviewed and
commented on commissioning and performance test procedures.
Completed process engineering and laboratory procedures. Factory
tested (FAT) the Operator Training Simulator
• Plant commissioning -2007: As a member of the Owner
commissioning Team Lead: Conducted plant walk-downs for
handover packages, identified plant deficiencies and raised punch
lists, Non-conformance reports (NCRs) and Technical Inquiries
(TQs) to correct these deficiencies. Carried out due diligence
investigations to establish importance level and the corrective
actions required to ensure adequate solution.
• Plant Start-up: Fully engaged in solving Plant start-up problems
including amine unit foaming, CO2 removal limitations and Fired-
heater vibration problems. Witnessed Plant performance tests,
reviewed and comment on performance test results.
• Plant Operational challenges: Plant Operations faced many
challenges after the initial start-up and plant handover to EG LNG.
We dealt with Acid gas removal Unit foaming problems, CO2 spec
limitations and Dryer Breakthroughs. After days of data analysis,
troubleshooting and making appropriate process changes, we
resolved these problems. Fired Heater vibrations continued, and
are expected to resolve after completing modifications
recommended by Heater manufacturer in July 2008.
• Plant Capacity Enhancement: After attaining smooth Plant
operation, the desire to maximize production came to light. Plant
and equipment design boundaries, ambient temperature variations
and Unit Operation limits have to be modified. To overcome these
limitations, I am responsible to identify minor capacity
enhancement projects, de-bottlenecking projects and the
implementation of Advanced Process Control. This work is in
Progress.
• EG LNG laboratory: Spent great efforts to get the building ready,
arrange vendor personnel to come to the island to commission the
equipment and undertook the task of staffing, Lab Commissioning
and establishment of routine sampling and analytical program. As
a result, the laboratory was fully functional before plant start-up
and provides full laboratory services to the plant. LIMS was
acquired for archiving and reporting analytical results.
• Environmental Monitoring and Emissions Reporting:
Completed environmental monitoring procedure. Established
calculation and reporting files for CO2 emissions, Flare calculations,
and stack emissions and submit monthly reports to HESS manager.
• Implement Plant information system (PI): PI is used for
collecting & archiving DCS Data for the plant. I was fully

5. responsible for the purchase, installation, testing and training of
users for the PI system. At plant start-up, the PI system was
operational by April 2007.

have arranged training for Process Engineers, Laboratory personnel
and Nationals working in my section. In-house training was
arranged for LIMS, Oil Lab and Laboratory analytical equipment for
laboratory personnel. For the Nationals, the Process technology
section provides on-the-Job training for new engineers and for
summer Interns.
• Reporting Plant information: Established plant Mass Balance,
emissions reporting and Daily Operations reporting systems which
are currently used in the plant.
• Plant Modifications projects and Studies: in addition to the
internal process studies, I have initiated external studies and MOCs
in the following areas: CO2 vent stack, Waste heat Incinerator and
Nitrogen production unit upgrades, addition of BOG compressor,
replacement of amine exchangers, revamping of amine
reboilers and the upgrade of Pr-dryer Separator internals.
