 Commission also called
Radhakrishnan

 To report on India University Education
& suggest improvements that may be
desirable to suit present &future needs
of the country.
 Commission submitted its report in
Aug.1949
 Interviewed a number of university teachers &
students- understanding problems.
 Commission prepare a questionnaire & sent –
obtaining their suggestions.
 About 6000 persons returned questionnaire
along with suggestions.
 Minister of education Abdul kalam azad
inaugurated the commission-6 dec.1948 & gave
necessary directios.

  • 2.  Govt. of India appointed UEC on 4 nov.1948 under the chairmanship of Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan V.C of BHU became 2nd President of India  Commission also called Radhakrishnan commission
  • 3.  To report on India University Education & suggest improvements that may be desirable to suit present &future needs of the country.  Commission submitted its report in Aug.1949
  • 4.  Interviewed a number of university teachers & students- understanding problems.  Commission prepare a questionnaire & sent – obtaining their suggestions.  About 6000 persons returned questionnaire along with suggestions.  Minister of education Abdul kalam azad inaugurated the commission-6 dec.1948 & gave necessary directios.
