 The word environment is derived from the old french word
“environer” which means to neighbourhood.
 Environment is our basic life support system. It provides the air
we breath the water we drink , the food we eat and the land
where we live.
 Like- Plant, Animals, River, Roads, human
 For example I am a human being so I am also part of the
environment.

10. Component of environment
Mainly component of environment divided into three parts.
1. Natural environment: Land, Water, air, plants and animals. Comprise the
natural environment.
2. Human-made- Building, Roads. Industries and bridges comprise the man-
made environment.
3. Human- The human environment is concerned with people who live in different
environments and their activities and environmental features which they have
created.
