The document discusses plans for an opening sequence to a film about four best friends. It describes scenes of the two girls getting ready at one house and the boys getting ready at another, becoming bored while waiting for the girls. When they finally arrive, one boy gets angry they took so long while the main character Harry cannot take his eyes off Flo. The document also provides context about the characters, locations, themes, and planned shot types and editing for the opening sequence.
2. From our final research, we
have decided to use this
font..
3.
4. EQUILBRIUM: 4 best friends who have met at college – they are
inseparable
They go to a big party before they go to their opposite ways for UNI
Harry gets with one of his best friends Flo who he has been in love with
since the first day they met
Oscar helps Harry to impress Flo when they start going on dates so that
he keeps her interested
DISEQUILBRIUM: Flo doesn’t like the new Harry
Harry and Flo have a fall out due to confusion of feelings between them
Harry and Flo go to UNI not talking, but they still talk to their other two
friends (makes it awkward for Oscar and Sophie)
NEW EQUILBRIUM: Harry and Flo realise that they both love each other
whiles they have been away from each other for a months
They both bump into each other when they come back to their
hometown for Christmas
The four best friends are finally back together and happy
6. Since we made the video we decided we
wanted to add more onto our opening
sequence to make it more interesting. We are
going to add them getting ready for the party.
The two girls get ready in Flo’s room and Harry
and Oscar get ready in the spare room. When
the boys go back downstairs they have to wait
for another hour before the girls are finished
and it will show them getting really bored and
moving about a lot. When they eventually
come down, Oscar gets angry at them for
taking too long but Harry just cant take his eyes
of Flo.
7. ï‚ž The top answer to what age the
characters are and how they will act
with each other
 Flo’s house is located in Leicester, Quorn
ï‚ž Our main protagonist is very out-going
and confident around his friends
ï‚ž We are having mainly dialogue with a
short amount of voice over (said by the
main protagonist)
8. Our moral message of the narrative is don’t
let love change the friendship you had
with someone, stay true to yourself and
put what is most important first.
9. Representations within our film are mainly representations of
friendship and masculinity. The male protagonist, Harry, is
eye candy to females or complicit of eye candy when
Harry tries to change for Flo. He represents a masculine
features e.g. smooth features, designer fashion wear, a
caring and gentle approach and is concern for
appearance. By the end, he gains control over himself
and goes back to the old him where he doesn’t care as
much and is more chilled around Flo like he was then they
were just best friends but now love is added in.
HOWEVER..with using the narrative, he still ends the film with
being with Flo. This could then be argued he is still part of a
traditional hegemonic narrative, which pushes men into
the position of needing a woman.

11. The dialogue in our opening scene allows
us to start to develop the narrative of the
film and to introduce the characteristics
of all four of the best friends, especially
Harry. As well as diegetic dialogue, there
will be a voice over to our opening
sequence to introduce the characters
from Harry’s point of view as our USP is
that the main protagonist is a male.
12. The dialogue will be spoken by all four
friends. In the opening sequence, its
introducing the friends and the way they
are together, all characters will speak so
the audience can get a view of the
different personalities the characters
hold.
13. We are planning on having a soundtrack
to our film containing a cover of a well
known song called ‘Better Together’ by
Jack Johnson. We have got a producer
to rearranging the song, considering that
our film is independently produced, the
use of a small, independent artist suits
our type of production rather than using
a large, mainstream artist.
14.
15. Within our production, there will be a
variation of shot types ranging from long
shots, to medium to close ups. For
example, the first shot of our opening
sequence will be a establishing shot of
Harry and Oscar skate boarding down
the road. This shot will set the scene of
the production and it applies the VAL
type: Maker, as he works in a bar and
earns his own income to go to UNI.
16. Throughout our opening sequence, we will
use mainly cuts and quick cuts to create
a fast living life style in the film. WE will
use fade in/fade outs and create a split
screen effect when Harry messages Flo
that he is nearly at his house.
