Q1. What is your age?
This shows that 96% of the people that did my
survey were 15-20, which is as same as the age
of my target audience who aged 14-22. This
question helps me identify the reliability of the
answers of other questions. (Whether I find the
right aged target audience)

Q3. What kind of music do you like?
Audience Research Analysis!
#
I did my primary audience research on a website called ‘SurveyMonkey’, I already embedded the
questionnaire on my blog. I have 23 responses to my survey and underneath are the results:
This chart demonstrates that 57% of the people
did the survey are female, and 43% are male. I
want my magazine can be unisex. Therefore, I
will be careful when I choose colour scheme and
font style that make sure it can appeal both male
and female audience.
Q2. What is your gender?
From this question, I know that there are small
marketing for country music, it can only meet the
needs and wants of small groups of audience. On
the other hand, 57% of the people did the survey
like pop music, so my idea is that change my
magazine genre from pure country to a pop
country magazine, in order to covered larger
market and appeal to more audience.

The price I set for my magazine
is about £3, although most
people would like to buy it for
£2, considering that my young
target audience who aged
14-16, they do not have a job
but their parents will buy
magazines for them, as well as
audience aged from 17-22 who
might go out for working, which
means they can buy whatever
they want, £3 is a reasonable
price.

Q5. How often do you buy a magazine?
This question helps me decide the frequency of
publishing—weekly, semimonthly or monthly.
Depending on the result that 76% of the people
would like to buy a music magazine once a
month, so I will publish it monthly.
This question helps me identify the
features (structure) of my
magazine. The top 3 features are:#
- Feature Stories#
- Review section#
- Exclusive#
So I will mention these informations
in the front cover, which makes
audience find their interests quickly.#

Posters A CD More Articles Another Little Magazine
Q8. What would you like to get
free from a music magazine?
As people said that they would like to get a
free CD with the magazine, and 22% of
them would like to get a free poster or
more articles, which inspired me the way
to promotion my magazine, in order to
attract my target audience.
This question relates to the
multi platform of my
magazine. From the
response, 47% of people
access to read online issue,
43% will buy in shops, and
34% will download reading
apps. Therefore, when I
create the poster for
promotion, these 3 multi
platforms are the priority
choices.

Q9. Would you buy a
country music magazine?
The responses form this question are
not good—60% audience won’t buy a
country music magazine. So as I said
previously, I will change it to a pop
country magazine, in order to follow the
hottest trend— pop music, which aims
to help me attract more audience. If the
demand of my magazine is low, the
business can’t gain profits, which
means it won’t benefit the revenue
stream, and this will lead a failure of
my magazine.
- This survey helps me know what my target audience need and want. I know
what I would better to put it in, and what features are my target audience
interested in, I know what price that I’m gonna set for my magazine and how
to stand my pop country genre. I’m quite happy with the feedback and it’s
really helpful.
