Central Image The central image on a magazine is the main that the audience see when they look at the magazine. There is mostly a star persona of a celebrity on the front cover to help promote the new issue of the magazine or because they’re the main purpose of that issue. Features Information or short pieces of text on the front cover of a magazine, telling the reader some of the main articles inside the issue of a magazine. Cover Lines One line descriptions of the cover line, this is to tempt the reader in picking up the magazine and buying it, to whatever article there may be. Left Third The left third of a magazine sometimes shows only half a the central image in shops and stores making it vital that the magazine is not shown full-frontage for reader. Selling Line Very quick, sharp and snappy. It over exaggerates on the magazine e.g. “The Best Magazine Worldwide” which is not true because there is no identified proof. Barcode A small black and white box that has different sized strips in which it also has 12 digits which is coded for the price of the magazine.
