A1: I think the magazineis a rock music genre. The colours are alternative like
alternative rock.
A2: this magazine looks like an indie rock magazine which is a bit different and
edgy.
Does the font fit the genre?
A1: the font could do with being in a slightly stronger fontto emphasisethe
indie theme. Itcurrently looks like a rock font, so more experimentation is
needed to find an accuratefont for the theme.
A2: I think that the font suits the magazine genreand it is apparentwhat type
of magazineit is through the font.
Are the colours suitable for the genre?
A1: the colour scheme suits the magazine genre well; however, it would be
better as a tri-colour scheme.

magazine look more aesthetically pleasing.

the people in the shots are thinking.
Are the locations of the shots suitable for the genre?
A1: I think although studio shots aresmart, an indie magazineneeds outdoor
and alternative shots to suit the genre.

think it is really good!
Is the layout of the magazine appropriate?
A1: I like the layoutof the magazineas it is clean, but it suits the genre.

I was surprised thatthe font and colour schemeweren’t suitable for the
magazine genre. However, I felt hat some of the shots could’vebeen outside
rather than in a studio. They felt the layoutwas perfect for the magazine, but I
was surprised thatthey didn’t think the colour scheme was strong enough.
How will this research affect my ideas?
The research has allowed me to explore all aspects of magazines from the
colour scheme to the imagery. I will consider even the slightest problems with
the magazinethat the people had. Furthermore, I will look at the factors that
people liked and usethem in my work.
