1. Formal Proposal for the magazine I am creating
I propose to create a magazine with the title ‘VIBE!’ as I think it would represent the
magazine due to style of magazine I am creating. The genre of magazine will be pop
as I feel in current times this is a popular genre which covers the charts and is widely
listened to. I also feel there aren’t enough magazines of this genre available at the
moment so therefore thing it would be a good addition to publications which are
already out there for purchasing.
The profile of my target audience will be white females around the ages of 15 – 21
the life styles of this audience will be that of GCSE, College of University so all people
who are at critical learning stages of their life. I chose this as I can then therefore use
the magazine for education section and how the music can help with this.
For the front page I am initially thinking about having a female of the same age as
the target audience at the front on her own, holding a microphone or another
instrument. I would use this type of person to not only to portray the target audience
but also in order to use them as a figure the audience could look up to as they are
just like them. Also the text used will be surrounding the subject with the most
important information in the left third. I think I am going to use bright/vibrant
colours for the magazine in order so they stand out from the magazine.
My initial ideas for the contents page would be another image of either a different
artist or the same with then a list of all stories that will be included within the
magazine next to the corresponding page number. I will also use the same colour
theme as the front page in order for there to be a sense of house style and branding.
The initial ideas I have had for the double page spread are to have a large photo of
the artist in the middle and then a Q+A style piece of writing around the image. I am
also going to include some grab quotes in a bigger font to the rest of the writing in
order for them to stand out.
For the photographs my initial idea is to take them in different locations with the
models I am using. However I will then do edit on them in Photoshop to make them
more precise to how I want them to be. I will also make sure the backgrounds are
suitable before I take the image aswell.
