1. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
2. Through the use of language I used some slang and words which I knew my target audience would understand. I used this kind of language because I knew my target audience was female teenagers as I evaluated from my questionnaire. I represented the fun and girly social group through colours, images and articles. The colours I used we’re quite girly with red and pink but with using quite a lot of white as well I created pages which are girly but in a subtle way to try and widen the potential audience. Through using images I used a mixture of females and males to attract my target audience. I used females in the images because I wanted the audience to relate to the person on the page and want what she has. The use of males in the images attracted the audience as the typical female teenager enjoys reading and looking at the ‘hunky’ pop star men. As I am within the target audience which my music magazine is aimed at, I can sort of tell what the audience want in a music magazine so it has helped me a lot in designing my magazine. The article I created has represented the teens as a nice bunch of people through the answers I used for the questions.
