• Gas must be expanded completely and
  discharge in laminar and axially oriented flow
• Material from nickel alloys or titanium subject
  to high gas temperature.

SUPERSONIC NOZZLE
• Divergent shape
• When nozzle is
  choked, upstream
  pressure increase
  above atmospheric.
• Pressure different
  provide pressure
  thrust
AFTERBURNER
Purposely to provide suddent thrust for fighter aircraft
NOISE SUPPRESSION
• Noise result :
  – From rolling vortex produce by rotating blades
    interacting with stationary vane
  – From mixing of jet efflux with cold ambient air


• Method :
  • Using honeycomb for intake and casing
  • Using Suppressor nozzle (lobe and corrugation)

• Control by lever mounted forward of
  thrrottles
• It rotate the airflow and directed airflow 450
• Purpose :
  – Aid in braking
  – Aid in directional control
  – Reverse aircraft out of parking

  • 2. PURPOSE • Safely dirext exhaust gases to atmosphere • To produce required thrust • Gas must be expanded completely and discharge in laminar and axially oriented flow • Material from nickel alloys or titanium subject to high gas temperature.

  • 5. SUPERSONIC NOZZLE • Divergent shape • When nozzle is choked, upstream pressure increase above atmospheric. • Pressure different provide pressure thrust
  • 6. AFTERBURNER Purposely to provide suddent thrust for fighter aircraft
  • 7. NOISE SUPPRESSION • Noise result : – From rolling vortex produce by rotating blades interacting with stationary vane – From mixing of jet efflux with cold ambient air • Method : • Using honeycomb for intake and casing • Using Suppressor nozzle (lobe and corrugation)
  • 9. THRUST REVERSAL • Control by lever mounted forward of thrrottles • It rotate the airflow and directed airflow 450 • Purpose : – Aid in braking – Aid in directional control – Reverse aircraft out of parking
