Femininity Vs. Masculinity, By Bram Stoker s Dracula
Femininity Vs. Masculinity
Vincent D Onofrio said To me the definition of true masculinity and femininity, too is being able to
lay in your own skin comfortably. In other words, male can t be too masculine and female can be too
feminine, but both qualities can show though any human because of how we act and our emotions. In
Bram Stoker, Dracula, each character faces difficult obstacles between the lines of being all man or
facing the structures of being a woman. With the help of two critical essays to analyze Dracula

Symptoms Of Sciatica Research Paper
Treat Sciatica Pain with Easy Yoga Exercises
Sciatic Nerve Actually, the largest nerve in our body is the sciatic nerve or ischiadic nerve. The
beginning of this nerve is in the lower part of the back. It continues down the back of each leg. It is
composed of nerve roots which start from the spine in the lower back.
Sciatica
Sciatica is a symptom of a medical condition. It is not a disease. The symptoms of sciatica are:
Pain in the lower back and in the back of the leg (usually just in one leg)
The pain increases while sitting
Burning feeling down the leg
Numbness in the leg or the foot
Inability to move the leg or the foot
Inability to stand or walk for a long period
Causes of sciatica:

The Production Of Automobile Production
According to Amighini and Gorgoni (2014), Automobile production is one of the operations in the
manufacturing segment of production that is highly spatially disintegrated, characterized by
production activities that are broken down into different units and take place in various countries in
the world. The production processes are highly dispersed. Amighini and Gorgoni (2014) explain
reasons for the dispersed nature of the production system. The automobile industry has been made to
implement modern sourcing techniques stemming from the growth in leading edge inputs in
contemporary cars, such as computer and electronic facilities, according to Amighini and Gorgoni
(2014). The varying level of technology advancements and innovation has ... Show more content on

The automobile industry has experienced different progressions. Marukawa (2013) makes reference to
the World Motor Vehicle Statistics. According to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics, gathered by the
Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, some countries that had a vast collection of automobile
corporations in 2010 were the United Kingdom, which had 21 automobile manufacturers, and
Malaysia, which had 26 automobile manufacturers. However, China had to a greater extent the highest
number of automobile manufacturers in the world, according to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics.
According to Marukawa (2013), an important characteristic of the Chinese automobile industry is the
magnitude of small scale producers. Marukawa (2013) discovered that car and engine production are
mostly vertically fragmented in China. Research by Marukawa (2013) showed that firms that want to
enter the industry could outsource production inputs such as engines and design, which minimizes the
entry restrictions for new firms in the industry. The minimization of entry restrictions, and the rising
demand for automobiles in China favored entry into the automobile industry, according to Marukawa
(2013).
Research by Marukawa (2013) discovered that in the 1990s, corporations that belonged to the
government had the ease of protecting domestic markets through governing the operations of the
domestic producers. However, households have now become the primary consumers of cars, and as a
result,

Cystic Fibrosis Analysis
To understand the effects that Cystic Fibrosis has, it is important to discuss CFTR synthesis and
trafficking. Mutations in the CFTR results in protein misfolding, causing a defect in cellular
processing and trafficking that targets the protein for degradation and reduces the quantity of CFTR at
the cell surface [56]. In order for the CFTR to function correctly, then it must be synthesized, folded,
and transported to the apical membrane of the cell without problem. The CFTR passes through quality
control systems to get rid of misfolded proteins that would not function properly or that could become
damaged [16]. It is apparent that only 33% of CFTR folds correctly and is allowed to leave the
endoplasmic reticulum [8]. The nucleus is the site ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One system detects defects in the cytosolic parts of the CFTR while the other detects defects within
the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It is apparent that ubiquitylating proteins work with specific
factors in order to detect misfolding. For example, Hsp70 detects mutations in the cytosolic regions of
the CFTR. It is suspected that Hsp70 keeps the CFTR soluble until the E3 ligase CHIP binds with it.
The complex that forms between these two redirects the CFTR to the degradation pathway. Derlin 1 is
involved with detecting defects in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and is involved in the retro
translocation of CFTR from the endoplasmic reticulum so that it can be send to the proteasome for
degradation [20]. If the CFTR protein is folded correctly within the endoplasmic reticulum, then it is
sent to the Golgi apparatus. The coat protein complex II (COPII), which is found within the ER
membrane, helps to maintain the correct CFTR structure and location, conformation, and protein
protein interactions as this occurs. Final processing for the CFTR is carried out within the Golgi, as
the CFTR replaces a mannose enriched side chain with a mature complex oligosaccharide side chain.
After this is completed, the CFTR is moved to the apical membrane where it has a half life of 12 to 24
hours. If a CFTR is functioning poorly within the membrane, then it can be recognized by Hsc70 and

Listening To Music Analysis
For many years we as individuals and as a society have created and listened to various forms of music.
Initially there are two ways in which music can be introduced into one s life. The first initiation is
through listening to music. This can then be followed by the second initiation which is playing music.
Through these initiations people are able to remember music and do not need the external influence
because of memory. For example, if someone likes Mozart, they do not need to actually listen to the
music because they can hear it in their own mind. The memory of music can never be fully taken
away, not even from someone who has become deaf. Music has been used as a means of expression,
and a way to convey feelings and emotions such as love, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people have turned to exercise, better sleep habits, and their friends and families to try to reduce
stress (ADAA). Listening to music is the best and safest way to reduce stress. Many people turn to
drugs and alcohol when they are stressed. These forms of stress reducers can be very harmful to the
body. For example, if someone is stressed and decides to smoke marijuana before they drive to work,
there is impairment to the mind of the driver causing them to possibly crash. Instead of this person
turning to drugs while driving, they can turn on music to reduce their stress on the way to work. When
people listens to enjoyable music, they are able to forget about the stressful situations that are
occurring in their life. Many are able to put themselves in another state of mind when listening to
music. An altered state of mind is not as attainable through any other means. I have a personal
experience with this type of stress reduction. Whenever I am feeling stressed about an exam, or an
essay that is critical for my grade in a class, I listen to music to calm me down. When I listen to music,
I forget about the task at hand and focus on the words of the song. When I am done listening to music
I am much more productive and able to focus better on studying and writing. Many other people have
told me they also experience the same benefits I do with stress reduction through music. Some people
may enjoy hardcore, loud and aggressive music which can make them angry, agitated and antisocial.
This can cause stress in their life because they are being influenced by the aggressive nature of the
music. However, the majority of people who listen to music, do so with the intention of being soothed
rather than being affected by a stress causing agent. This is obvious based on the many interactions I
have had with others who appreciate listening to music. When listening to enjoyable music

Economical Monday Marketing Strategy
It s only shallow people who do not judge the world by appearances. The mystery of the world is the
visible, not the invisible.

This quotation by one of the greatest writer and thinker of the twentieth century nicely illustrates the
topic which is going to be discussed in this paper; the notions that underlie and has triggered the
enormous international success and which at the same time threatens such popularity of Cheap
Monday the Swedish fashion brand.
Cheap Monday had probably made its widest international depute on the 19th of September, 2007

(Elliott and Wattanasuwan, 1998). Having had the opportunity to search the web for information on
Cheap Monday I have gained the knowledge of online Cheap Monday communities (Facebook for
instance), where people with the same common interest and values can meet to share and maintain the
symbolic meanings relating the brand while creating a platform for discussion, or dialogue similar to
the old cafe houses that were the melting pot of intellectual challenges in Baudelaire s Paris. The
importance of these platforms is indubitable as it is elaborately discussed in more detail: In order for
the meaning of brands to become fully concrete, the mediated meaning derived from advertising and
promotion must be negotiated with the lived experience of purchase and usage, and particularly for
brands with social symbolic positioning strategies these meanings must be validated through
discursive elaboration in a social context (Elliott and Wattanasuwan, 1998).
Apparently, the worshipers of Cheap Monday had made the brand so big that it soon attracted the
Swedish fashion colossus H M. In the spring of 2008 HM acquired 60% of shares in Cheap Monday.

My Perfect Life
I had always had a pretty normal life growing up some rough patches here and there. I always thought
that I had the definition of an almost perfect life. I had great friends, family, both my biological
parents, two sisters, and we lived in a beautiful state the state of Washington. What else could a 5 year
want in life? 5 years olds are so oblivious to the obvious. That s the downfall of life once you re old
enough to copperhead everything that s going on around, it can change the way someone sees life for
the greater good. That s what happened to me, I grew up a lot faster than I should have had too. I m 8
now and I am not so oblivious to the events that take place between my parents. Taking care of my
sisters while my mom was out working her ass off trying to support her family while the so called
father figure was probably out banging another woman without a care in the world. I don t get why
mom stays with him even when she knows what s really going on. That is one of the many reasons
why the most influential person in my life is my mom. She s a woman who has been through way too
much, however, she always makes the best out of every situation. I can see it in her eyes that she s
hurting even when there s a smile on her face and laughing in the air when she s playing with my little
sisters. She always sees the positive side of life even when life rarely shows her the better side of
circumstances. She s a great woman and I hope I can be half the woman she is someday. She is

The Effect Of Salt And Sugar On Heart Rate
How salt and sugar affect heart rate and blood pressure
Heart rate is a measuring system for heart. It is measured by how many times then heart beats. A
normal heart rate is usually between 60 100 beats. Abnormal is if the heart rate is too high or very low.
Also, if the heart beats at irregular times. Some factors that change a person s heart rate are, the body
temperature. It affects the heart rate because the warmer the body gets the heart beats more quickly.
This happens because the body is trying to move more blood in the body to cool it down. When the
body temperature is cold it also beats after because of it trying to keep the body warmer. Blood
pressure is the pressure in the circulatory system. It is measured in systolic and diastolic. Systolic
meaning when the arteries of the heart contract. Diastolic means the pressure in the blood vessels. The
average blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg. Abnormal blood pressure is 120 139/80 doctors call it
hypertension meaning almost high blood pressure, this is very dangerous for the heart since it puts a
lot of strain on it. Some factors of high blood pressure are, obesity and smoking. Low blood pressure
is if it is lower than the average. Doctors call this hypotension . Some factors of low blood pressure
are heart problems, blood loss, and lack of nutrients. The test that is being done is how sugars and
salts affect heart rate and blood pressure. There will be one partner that has the artificial sugars and
salts and the other

The Goal Of The Journal
1. The goal of the journal is to explain several concepts, many being misunderstandings, of how dry
ice is formed, and to use experiments to explain the hypotheses. The author provides explanations to
scientific reactions that make fog result from mixing together dry ice and water. Kuntzleman, the
author of A Molecular Explanation of How Fog is Produced When Dry Ice Is Placed in Water , also
explains why various ideas about dry ice are false. He demonstrates his ideas using experiments he
says can be performed using primarily cheap, and easy to find material.
The first experiment constructed is set up to effectively measure the density of fog. Because the
experiments all deal with dry ice, it is vital to be able to measure the density of the fog resulting from
a dry ice and liquid combination. Using a 500 mL flask with a round bottom and two openings is
necessary. Approximately 200 mL of liquid is put into the flask. A piece of approximately 10 grams of
dry ice is then placed into one opening on the flask. The other opening is covered by a plastic cuvette.
Through the cuvette the fog s density can be measured using an LED light and sensor. Fog density is
then recorded using the intensity of the light with the formula for the density of the fog, log(I/I0).
The next performed experiment deals with where the fog originates. The atmospheric water is not the
basis of DIWF (Dry Ice Water Fog). The source of this fog comes from bulk water. To prove this using

Overcoming Abusive Childhood In Thomas Sayer Ellis Sticks
When children are growing, their very first role models are often their parents. Though this is true,
they are not always the best ones. This idea is exemplified in Thomas Sayer Ellis s poem, Sticks. In
the poem Sticks, the theme of overcoming an abusive childhood is demonstrated through the poets use
of figurative language, sound and structural devices, and tone.
To begin, Ellis uses figurative language throughout the poem to express a theme of overcoming an
abusive childhood. Ellis uses imagery to suggest that his father had a very loud, outstanding voice
when he says No one could outshout him / or make bigger fists. (7 8). This is very effective because it
gives the reader a sense of understanding of what is was like for the narrator ... Show more content on

He uses alliteration several times throughout the poem. For example, Ellis looks apon how as a child
he imitated his father, despite the pain he was causing him. He expresses this when he says a
plagiarist, hitting the things he hit (13). This use of alliteration adds flow to the poem in addition to
adding extreme emotion for the readers. The use of caesura in this poem breaks apart the ideas that
Ellis is trying to express. As mentioned above, the first five paragraphs are mentioned in a form of
past tense where as the remaining three are in the present tense. Before the last three paragraphs break,
there is a caesura which represents a change in tone as well as time. Ellis represents this idea when he
states I discovered writing/ How words are parts of speech/ with beats and breaths of their own (21).
This part of the poem is very important and represents a break in theme. Where the poem from before
that was of the past, from that point on, the poem becomes hopeful. It is at that point that the narrator
broke the cycle of abuse and did the opposite of what might be expected from a child who grew up in
an abusive home. Whereas when he was a child he intimidated his father and idolized him, he chose a
positive outlet and did not become the man that his father was. Finally, Ellis uses assonance to add
flow and structure to the poem. He uses this device when he

Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory Of Development
Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory of Development Erik Erikson, a German psychologist of the early
1900s, is most known for his theory on psychosocial development in humans. He was heavily
influenced by his work with Anna Freud and her father, Sigmund Freud. However, in his research, he
put emphasis on the cultural and social impact on identity development and studying the ego, which
he believed developed with successful crisis resolving throughout life ( Erikson s Stages , 2007). He
proposed the life long model of development, consisting of eight stages. Erikson assumes that in every
stage of development, there is a crisis that the individual must overcome despite the conflict of their
psychological needs and the needs of society (McLeod, 2008, ¶9). With achievement of the basic
virtue associated with each stage, the individual can move forward with their development. The
conflict between the ego and societal experiences, Erikson coined as an identity crisis ( Identity
Formation , 2015, ¶2) The ultimate idea with the stages of development is that these struggles must be
overcome by individuals in order to find their sense of identity and self knowledge. His theory heavily
influences education, however not like many would expect. His research lies in helping people
understand the importance in a positive relationship between students and teachers. Erikson s Career
For Erikson s time, he was widely recognized and his theories readily accepted. A former co worker of

The loaves varied in consistency; what we call the crust of the bread today was blackened at the outer
edges then dark brown towards the center with water consistency increasing substantially towards the
center of the loaf. Cato provided detailed descriptions of weights of both the grains and bread
distributed to the slaves. Researchers were able to estimate the weights of the breads that were likely
consumed daily. This estimate ranges from 4 to 5 pounds of bread daily, from which can be gleaned
that the smaller loaves were especially dense in comparison to modern bread. This would have been a
large volume of food for a slave, though they were likely only fed enough to continue working. Cato
listed two recipes in his De Agri Cultura LVI and both are breads for offering rituals. It is clear from
the writing Cato was not himself a baker, yet the recipes are enlightening nonetheless. Several
challenges were encountered when Micah attempted to follow a recipe for the bread to be used in the
ritual. All ingredients are listed in pounds but in current recipes most ingredients are measured by
volume. Estimation was significant to approximate quantities, and substitutions had to be made as
well. For example, Micah noted that cheese was used and consumed frequently in ancient Rome, but
few entries about feasts indicate any specifics of the characteristics of cheese. If used in the bread, and
it often was, it likely would have been a hard cheese. Cato described a process in his recipe, bray two
pounds of cheese thoroughly in a mortar; when it is thoroughly macerated, add one pound of wheat
flour. Today s palates would prefer a cheese with more oil in it. As it was being prepared for offering,
the bread would probably have been

The Red Guard Movement Essay
The cultural revolution is a strange period in Chinese history laced with intense struggle and anguish.
The cultural revolution mobilized the all of society to compete for all opposing factions that they
belonged to (Ong, 2016). Mao mobilized the young people of society during a background of political
turmoil, which helped Mao to mobilize the students in order to enforce his political legitimacy and
ideas (Ong, 2016). Mao s charismatic authority created his personality cult and most defiantly leant a
helping hand in mobilizing the red guard movement (Ong, 2016) (Weber, 1946) (Andreas, 2007). No
matter which faction of the red guard they belonged to, they all mobilized against their common
enemy; the better off, upper class. (Ong, 2016). Multiple ideologies within the youth led red guard
movement explain why the movement gained momentum and became incredibly powerful (Walder,
2009).
The red guard movement can be primarily explained two different theories. The first theory is the lack
of political cohesion and party factionalism among the elites starting during the Great Leap Forward,
which boiled into 100 Flowers Campaign and then subsequently the Cultural Revolution (Meisner,
1999). It is the battle between these elite factions and the prohibition of dissent which resulted in the
creation of the Red Guards, which in effect served as agent for the Maoist faction (Yang, 2000). The
second theory would be the breakdown of societal institutions, such as education, leading up to

Humanitarian space has two facets one physical and the other one virtual. Physically, humanitarian
space is defined by a neutral area where persecute people are given security and provided with
assistance from humanitarian workers. From a virtual point of view, humanitarian space is defined by
the network of law created to give rights at an international level to people victims of intolerance and
persecution. The virtual humanitarian space is allowed by a core of value, that we share at a global
level. Internationally, we perceive solidarity and fraternity as a value to defend; consequently, the need
for humanitarian space is of global concern.
RISE OF EXTREMISM:

Extremism is a rotten apple that has affected the condition of our societies. From developed countries
to developing countries, individuals with bad intentions have succeeded in their attempt to

extreme right groups who diabolized them for electoral purposes. Also, the rise of extremism is a

for example if a bank get robs that is the primary scene and the getaway car and the lair are the

Building A Conventional Sewage Treatment Facility
As in the case of rural non point source pollution; urban areas are not likely to fix all contamination
problems with one system. While it may be possible to build a conventional sewage treatment facility
that can handle any storm condition it is not likely that this will ever be cost feasible to do. One type
of larger combined sewage system that is being tried in several locations around the county where
proper topography allows is the aquatic marsh system. In this type of system sewage still goes through
the primary treatment of separation out the larger solids. Once these solids have settled out it move on
to the secondary treatment where it undergoes another process to remove biochemical oxygen
demand. This is done through introducing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the wet land treatment system is very effective in treating large quantities of sewage it still falls
short of the large problem. It still is not treating the problem at its source. There are other options and
systems that are in place to deal with urban pollution issues and flooding. Some example of systems
that have the potential to mitigate urban at their source are implementing low impact development,
installation of sand filters, infiltration trenches permeable pavers, storm water planters and green
roofs. Low impact development (LID) is not a new concept but is still considered innovated when
being discussed. LID is a storm water management program that manages storm water on site
compare to conventional systems that pipe it off to a central treatment facility or directly into local
water ways. Storms waters in the natural environment normally soak into the ground and are filter by
the soils and vegetation. When areas are urbanized the water now running off taking contaminate with
them. These waters can flow at fast rates causing increased flooding. The goals of LID are to lessen
the impact storm waters on the natural environment, use land more efficiently, and help to lower cost.
Site planning includes, minimizing areas of disturbance, maintaining, and restoring natural buffers,
minimizing impervious cover, disconnection impervious cover and minimizing soil compaction.

Ideals of Liberalism Expressed in President Obama s Speeches
In President Obama s speech at the U.S. and China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, he outlines the
essential steps in advancing a positive, constructive, and comprehensive relationship between the two
countries. In the President s 2011 State of the Union Address, he provides four critical steps to achieve
economic recovery in addition to several pressing domestic and international policies. What both these
speeches hold in common, is the logic behind the liberalism tradition of international relations. The

Both of the President s speeches are structured around modern ideals of liberalism concerning
economic, social, and political issues. The President s main focuses in his State of the Union Address

advance our mutual interest in a lasting economic recovery through trade that is free and fair. The
President addresses economic improvement in his State of the Union Address through the promotion
of innovation, education, and infrastructure in the United States which will lead increased exports. He
promotes expansion of free trade programs with Central American and Asia Pacific. Free trade does
not just help the economy, but according Richard Rosencrance in his theory of economic
interdependence, trade fosters peace by making trade more profitable than invasion. Mutual economic

Joseph Nye s position regarding the social aspect of liberalism argues that person to person contact

Global Marketing Strategies
Two opposite viewpoints for developing global marketing strategy are commonly expounded.
According to one school of thought, marketing is an inherently local problem. Due to cultural and
other differences among countries, marketing programs should be tailor made for each country. The
opposing view treats marketing as know how that can be transferred from country to country. It has
been argued that the worldwide marketplace has become so homogenized that multinational
corporations can market standardized products and services all over the world with identical
strategies, thus lowering their costs and earning higher margins.
Localized Strategy The proponents of localized marketing strategies support their viewpoint based on

Nestlé, for example, achieved more than a 60 percent market share in the instant coffee market in
Japan but less than 30 percent in the United States. Nestlé had to contend with two strong domestic
competitors in the United States, namely General Foods, which markets Maxwell House and other
brands, and more recently Procter Gamble, which markets Folgers and High Point. Nestlé faced
relatively weak domestic competitors in Japan. IBM, which is the leading computer company in the
world, slipped to third place in the Japanese market behind Fujitsu Ltd. and NEC Corporation in terms
of total revenue. Nestlé and IBM must reflect differences in their competitive environments in such
marketing choices as pricing, sales force behavior, and advertising.
Standardized Strategy In contrast to the view that marketing strategies must be localized, many
scholars and practitioners argue that significant benefits can be achieved through standardization of
marketing strategies on a global basis. As a matter of fact, some people recommend an extreme
strategy: offering identical products at identical prices through identical distribution channels and
supporting these identical products by identical sales and promotional programs throughout the world.

Martin Luther s Impact On The Catholic Church
This essay will be about the changes that were made prior to the Reformation. Martin Luther was one
of the main people who had made a significant impact for the Catholic Church that changed many
people s lives for the better. Some people didn t agree with what Martin Luther s actions, or what he
had to say. Many people also loved what he did, and they are still thanking him today. These changes
and important factors that will be explained throughout the essay.
The 95 These was the most significant impacts that Martin Luther had made. The 95 Theses were
written in 1517 and it challenged the teachings and the indulgences of the catholic Church at the time
(Theopedia.com, 2016). Martin Luther felt as though that the Church officials were teaching the
public that they could literally buy their way into the kingdom of God (GotQuestions.org, 2016), for
example some people truly believed that if you bought something like a piece of paper, it was like a
ticket straight into heaven. He nailed the 95 Theses on the gate of the Wittenberg Church, this caught
people s attention and shortly enough it started a theological debate; this then lead to the Reformation.
The 96 Theses got people thinking, and agreeing with what Martin Luther had to say. He strongly
disagreed with the fact that people were being punished/abused for indulging and/or sinning. The 95

to label genders. Tell them who they are, what is there role, how you support the country in this role.
Nazi Germany told to raise and birth children . Soviet Union you will raise children and birth them but

what they considered service to their country as they were socially constructed to maintain their

The Four Phases Of The Thirty Years War
While the Thirty Years War ultimately began in 1618, this was not the beginning of religious tension
and conflict within Europe. In 1555 the Peace of Augsburg was signed stating Cuius Regno, Eius
Religio meaning whoever is in ruling gets to dictate the religion of their territory. This became an
issue when a Catholic leader began ruling over a primarily Protestant population. So if the Thirty
Years War was simply a religious war, then why was so much of the political system affected by the
conflict between the Catholics and the Protestants? In this essay, I hope to explore other factors that
influenced the Thirty Years War. During this time in Europe, religion was largely the deciding factor in
politics. There were two reining religions: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Up until this point, the majority of the war had been on a religious basis and all of the fightings had

country like France be aiding a Protestant country like Sweden? This is where politics come into to
play even more prevalently. The French saw that by assisting Sweden, they could potentially bring
HRE s level of power down. This is referred to as the Balance of Power or a way to ensure all nations
have an equal power. Up until now, Sweden had done most of the battling but after the death of King
Gustavus Adolphus, they had decided to retract from the war. This enters us into the fourth and final
phase of the war, the French phase. At this point, France and Sweden switch positions. France begins
fighting more predominantly while Sweden takes on the financial role. Also, it is important to mention
that this began a time of mass hangings and witch hunts among the Europeans. This time was
considered the bloodiest and resulted in an extreme population

Stereotyping Is Bad
Is stereotyping really bad? Well, it isn t bad because it helps people understand who does what
because of this, right? However, that s not necessarily true. In this world, stereotyping has been a part
of how we live. To some people, stereotyping has been a serious issue; to others, not so much.
Stereotype is a term defined as: An oversimplified generalization about a person or group of people
without regard for individual difference.
An author named Shankar Vedanttam talks about this issue in his article How a Self Fulfilling

bad immigrants. These are things that people do to certain races that need to be fixed. We live in a
society where we base how a certain race is because of an amount of people s wrong doing.
I haven t opened my eyes until I ve come to the conclusion that we were all stereotyped because we

effectiveness of surgical procedures. Some researchers are even studying applications in tissue

for well established companies to explore business opportunities in the 3D printing market. The
emergence of large, blue chip players like General Electric (GE) and Ford (F) in the past year further
legitimizes the recent trend in additive manufacturing. General Electric s big bet on 3D printings

Medical Acronyms
In the English language, acronyms have begun to take on the same role as their common word
counterparts. Although they may initially be created to serve a purpose to a military or government,
they have been adapted to fit into everyday language. Whether it be medical professionals, avid sports
fans, or members of a certain generation, acronyms greatly contribute to group specific jargon.
In militaries, efficiency is highly valued. To prevent from having to repeat obscenely long phrases,
militaries frequently employ the use of acronyms. Due to this, many acronyms originate from the
military and trickle their way into the common language. For example, the acronym, ASAP ( as soon

In the medical field, many procedures or conditions have acronyms that represent them. This allows
those in the medical community to trim down long medical terms and associate them with shorter
words that are much easier to remember. When used between those in the healthcare field, these words
do not pose a threat to the transferring of ideas, as both parties understand these words meanings.
However, if one party is an outsider of the medical field, the use of such acronyms could be
detrimental to the communication between the two. Because of this, many doctors avoid using
medical acronyms when conversing with a patient about matters of his or her health.
Among certain groups with common interests, acronyms have evolved to be used as jargon. The use of
such jargon often provides its users with a sense of belonging within a social circle. For example,
sometimes middle aged people may try to use initialisms that are popular with the younger generation
in an attempt to fit in and rekindle the flame of their former youth. Interestingly, when such attempts
are done incorrectly, it can often have the opposite effect and alienate the person from said group. This
alienation occurs because the person is perceived to be desperate and believed to not share common

Hall and Soskice (2001) is one of the most significant concepts that is being widely discussed.
According to Hall and Thelen (2005), the varieties of capitalism is a firm centered approach where
firm is placed as a key actor and is being considered relational. It emphasizes the concept of
institutional complementarities, which ...one set of institutions is complementary to another when its

Institutional Complementarities
The concept of institutional complementarities revolves around the notion of the idea that the co
existence (within a given system) of two or more institutions mutually enhances the performance
contribution of each individual institution (Deeg, 2007. P.611). Hopner (2005) argued that the idea of
complementary implies that different spheres of institutions could only be combined in a number of
ways in order to be effective, which enhanced the theory of the existence of various types of
capitalisms. Hall and Soskice (2001) identified these differences in the varieties of capitalism
literature and then classified economies into liberal market economies and coordinated market
economies, each with its unique institutional complementarities.
The United Kingdom representing LME
Under the VoC framework, economies of various nations are mainly being classified into either liberal
market economies or coordinated market economies. According to Deeg and Jackson (2008), market
competitions and hierarchies are the main ways for firms to coordinate activities with other spheres in
liberal market economies. The supply and demand for products is determined by price movements in
the markets to obtain equilibrium, where market exchanges are conducted in an arm s length with
formal contracting. With stock market financing being the major way to obtain funds, the financial
systems of LMEs operate mainly based on information that are

Anti Gun Control
Due to recent mass shootings in the U.S. many Americans fear for their safety. Many Americans fear
to go out to movie theaters, restaurants, and even their children s schools. In the article Will Sikh
temple shooting spark U.S. conversation on gun control , Peter Greier claims Americans are deeply
split about the prospect of new gun laws, and tragic events such as recent mass killings do not change
voter opinions. Gun control laws should be any more strict because it would be violating the Second
Amendment and the right to bare arms to protect yourself against criminals.
To begin with, taking away a citizens right to bare arms is a violation of ... Show more content on

Being forced by law to leave her fire arm locked away in her car, she didn t know this particular time
would be the best situation to use it. Her lunch would be interrupted by a criminal with a gun. She
watched as he shot each victim one by one. Including her own parents. Had she possessed her gun in
this instance these tragic deaths may not have occurred.
However, not all guns should be aloud and open to the public. In most cases assault weapons are used
in mass shootings. In California it is illegal to own any gun with with an AK/AK15. Assault weapons
are unnecessary to defend yourself. Sometimes all it takes to defend yourself is just revealing your fire
arm. For example Appalachian School was being targeted by a shooter when a few brave students
showed enough courage to run out to their cars and grab their fire arms. These students were lucky to
prevent any deaths from happening.
Furthermore, more gun laws would not stop a criminal from possessing a gun. Criminals already don t
obey the law. Background checks are an absolute must. Background checks should prevent a gun from
getting in the wrong hands of the wrong person. Many criminals clan they like the gun control laws
because it leaves the victim helpless and without a gun. If every home had a gun, less criminals feel
power over victims by possessing a gun. By everyone having a gun, it equalizes the un equal.

Foregrounding/Backgrounding Both of these tools refer to the writer actively drawing attention either
toward or away any given concept. Typically, Calgary Herald journalists gave textual prominence
towards voices and ideas that pushed industry protection and dismissed claims made by
environmentalists. Even throughout my initial reading of the data, emphasis was almost always placed
on the economic costs of climate change policies prior to making mention of the inevitable
environmental consequences. This foregrounding of governmental and industry voices and the
backgrounding of environmental voices is clear in the article published titled Critics Challenge

If an explanation was given, it omitted the fact that policies are being put into place to prevent the
calamitous effects of global warming. Coverage on the economic costs of climate change adaptation
strategies heavily outweighed writing on the environmental harms that would arise out of non action.
By way of illustration, an article about oil production reads TransCanada Corp. s Keystone XL
pipeline and Enbridge Inc. s Northern Gateway project heading west, have been bogged down by
environmental concerns [...] and the lack of pipelines is a further drag on investment intentions in the
Canadian oil patch (Hussain 2015, April 11). Hussain s article refrains from explaining why
environmentalists are having concerns. Within the news reporting discourse, one would reasonably
expect objective and detailed coverage but in this instance, the author s choice of words flagrantly
drops the plethora of reasons why environmentalists would be concerned with the actions of big oil.
Another headline reads, There may be hope for new pipelines after all (Thomson 2015, October 15).
While these examples may not appear erroneous on the surface, upon close inspection on the phrasing
level, both bogged down and drag carry negative connotations that frame the protection of the
environment as a barrier

The Work Bicycle Thieves By Vittorio De Sica
The work Bicycle Thieves is chosen to be discussed in this essay. Bicycle Thieves is an Italian film
published in 1948, directed by Vittorio De Sica. It gained both commercial and artistic success, and
have won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1948. The film is famous for its
neorealism that reflects the post war Italian society. In the following essay, I m going to discuss how
did De Sica use the cinematography skills to strengthen his expressions in Bicycle Thieves, and the
ways he conveys the meaning of the film.
De Sica claimed a film is reality transposed into the realm of poetry (Turan 103). So, the principle of
his directing is to be genuine and realistic. This shares some similarities with the ideas of Italian
neorealism. According to Ten points of neorealism published by the Paris Journal in 1952, a neorealist
movie should have some of the following features: a message; topical scripts by concrete events; a
sense of the masses; realism; the truth of actors (often non professionals) and lighting; refusal of the
studio (Lielm 131 132). Bicycle Thieves comprise with most of the characteristics mentioned above
and made good use of them:
First, the selection of the actors. De Sica denied David Selznick s suggestion of Cary Grant for the
lead and his financial support. He insists on selecting unprofessional actors to be the protagonists of
the film. The factory worker Lamberto Maggiorani played the leading role Antonio Ricci, and another

John Hubner s Last Chance
John Hubner s Last Chance in Texas focuses on the boys and girls who go to Giddings State School to
establish that they aren t just criminals. The story doesn t just focus on the students lives, but students
who are trying to reform by transitioning from an unstable environment to a stable one. Giddings State
School has two sections based on gender roles that demonstrate the students properly transitioning
into a citizen. In the first section of the book, boys are not supposed to express their feelings because
its culture is frowned upon, so it takes longer for boys to relive and move forward in their recovery. In
the second part of the book, it s shorter because girls are socially acceptable so it takes less time to
display emotions. In the beginning of chapter 9, it starts out with the Parents of Murdered Children go
to Giddings State School to discuss how they felt anger toward the students attending school. The
book also demonstrates how the Nesbits to the facility to speak to the girls about Katy which led the
girls into understanding that when there s an effect theirs always an outcome. In Hubners book chapter
9, Meeting Katy is the most significant chapter of part II because it discusses not just the students
lives, but discuss outside point of view toward the inmates and how the girls achieve an understanding
with emotions.
In the beginning of chapter 9, Hubner provides information on the Parents of Murdered Children. The

Managing Crude Oil Using Derivatives
MANAGING CRUDE OIL USING DERIVATIVES
The present price markers for crude oil are WTI, Brent and Dubai/Oman. The crude oil derivatives
contracts are traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). The exchange acts as a
regulatory body and as a financial trading forum for all the parties interested in buying the options.
Members of the exchange carry out the trades themselves, or they act on behalf of the firms they
represent through an open outcry auction held in the trading room or the floor. The procedure begins
when a buyer calls an authorized commodity broker with an order to buy or sell futures or options
contract. This order is sent to the firm s agent who is on the trading floor. The prospects of more

If the price of oil is tripled in a year then the company is able to purchase oil at the last years locked in
price, which is lower than the current price, which in turn helps the company to save a lot of money
(Grabianowski, 2009). But, if the price of oil falls then the company ends up paying more and loses
money.
There are different types of financial instruments available for companies and investors to hedge
against crude oil price volatility. These instruments can be traded financially without the tangible
physical delivery of crude oil and different instruments have different time periods. Some of the
hedging tools are Options, Futures and Swaps. But for this paper we will only focus on option
contracts for management of risk in crude oil trading.
OPTIONS
The modern day financial options market came into existence in 1973. It was known as the Chicago
Board Options Exchange. During the same year, Fisher Black and Myron Scholes invented a formula
to calculate the price of an option using specific variables. This formula was later called the Black
Scholes Pricing Model and it had a huge impact on investors as they became confident about the idea
of trading options. As of today there are thousands of option instruments (stocks, bonds and currency)
listed in the market and millions of them are traded every day.
Options offer extra flexibility to buyers for managing currency or price risk as they work like an
insurance policy. Call option and Put option

Benefits Of Employees And Employees At The Workplace Is...
Harvard Business School Professor Michael Beer stated I think there is an implicit negotiation going
on between what management wants and expects, and what employees want and expect (Lagace,
2003). One aspect of the ongoing negotiation between employers and employees in the workplace is
the utilization of incentive pay plans. Employers utilize incentive pay plans to motivate and change
employee behaviors in order to prioritize behaviors and outcomes that the employer is looking for. Pay
for performance appears to be a common sense solution to motivate employees. It creates a reward
system for employees that is tied to job performance and meeting criteria that the employer values
(Taylor, 2013). While the idea of offering financial incentives to employees appears to be grounded in
business principles and ideas that have existed for a long time, they are not always successful. In order
to for pay for performance incentive tools to live up to their potential in the workplace they must be
crafted to meet the needs of organization as well needs of the employee, the plan must also be
maintained and evaluated on a regular basis. Failure to do so can cause more harm than not utilizing
one. Furthermore, there is a growing body of research pointing to the idea that incentive or rewards
are not the solution for improving employee performance that they were portrayed to be. There are
several different types of incentive plans that can be tied directly to business objectives

PTSD In Batman
The film begins with Bruce Wayne, Batman, recalling his parent s murder. We are introduced to an
older dark Batman who brands and kills criminals. Throughout the film, we are reminded of the
destruction that superman has caused in Metropolis when he indirectly destroyed the city. Lex Luthor
takes advantage of the situation by manipulating Batman to hate Superman (Clark Kent), and
capturing Superman s mother forcing the heroes to fight each other. Furthermore, the character Bruce
Wayne, in Batman v Superman (BVS), illustrates a clear example of post traumatic stress disorder
(PTSD) because of evidence of flashbacks, impulsive behavior and his inability to sleep. Flashbacks
are a severe symptom of PTSD where an individual experiences a traumatic

The Production Of Automobile Production According to Amighini and Gorgoni (2014), Automobile production is one of the operations in the manufacturing segment of production that is highly spatially disintegrated, characterized by production activities that are broken down into different units and take place in various countries in the world. The production processes are highly dispersed. Amighini and Gorgoni (2014) explain reasons for the dispersed nature of the production system. Marukawa (2013) makes reference to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics. According to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics, gathered by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, some countries that had a vast collection of automobile corporations in 2010 were the United Kingdom, which had 21 automobile manufacturers, and Malaysia, which had 26 automobile manufacturers. However, China had to a greater extent the highest number of automobile manufacturers in the world, according to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics. According to Marukawa (2013), an important characteristic of the Chinese automobile industry is the magnitude of small scale producers. Marukawa (2013) discovered that car and engine production are mostly vertically fragmented in China. Research by Marukawa (2013) showed that firms that want to enter the industry could outsource production inputs such as engines and design, which minimizes the entry restrictions for new firms in the industry. The minimization of entry restrictions, and the rising demand for automobiles in China favored entry into the automobile industry, according to Marukawa (2013). Research by Marukawa (2013) discovered that in the 1990s, corporations that belonged to the government had the ease of protecting domestic markets through governing the operations of the domestic producers. • 5. Cystic Fibrosis Analysis To understand the effects that Cystic Fibrosis has, it is important to discuss CFTR synthesis and trafficking. Mutations in the CFTR results in protein misfolding, causing a defect in cellular processing and trafficking that targets the protein for degradation and reduces the quantity of CFTR at the cell surface [56]. In order for the CFTR to function correctly, then it must be synthesized, folded, and transported to the apical membrane of the cell without problem. The CFTR passes through quality control systems to get rid of misfolded proteins that would not function properly or that could become damaged [16]. It is apparent that only 33% of CFTR folds correctly and is allowed to leave the endoplasmic reticulum [8]. The nucleus is the site ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One system detects defects in the cytosolic parts of the CFTR while the other detects defects within the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It is apparent that ubiquitylating proteins work with specific factors in order to detect misfolding. For example, Hsp70 detects mutations in the cytosolic regions of the CFTR. It is suspected that Hsp70 keeps the CFTR soluble until the E3 ligase CHIP binds with it. The complex that forms between these two redirects the CFTR to the degradation pathway. Derlin 1 is involved with detecting defects in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and is involved in the retro translocation of CFTR from the endoplasmic reticulum so that it can be send to the proteasome for degradation [20]. If the CFTR protein is folded correctly within the endoplasmic reticulum, then it is sent to the Golgi apparatus. The coat protein complex II (COPII), which is found within the ER membrane, helps to maintain the correct CFTR structure and location, conformation, and protein protein interactions as this occurs. Final processing for the CFTR is carried out within the Golgi, as the CFTR replaces a mannose enriched side chain with a mature complex oligosaccharide side chain. After this is completed, the CFTR is moved to the apical membrane where it has a half life of 12 to 24 hours. If a CFTR is functioning poorly within the membrane, then it can be recognized by Hsc70 and then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Listening To Music Analysis For many years we as individuals and as a society have created and listened to various forms of music. Initially there are two ways in which music can be introduced into one s life. The first initiation is through listening to music. This can then be followed by the second initiation which is playing music. Through these initiations people are able to remember music and do not need the external influence because of memory. For example, if someone likes Mozart, they do not need to actually listen to the music because they can hear it in their own mind. The memory of music can never be fully taken away, not even from someone who has become deaf. Music has been used as a means of expression, and a way to convey feelings and emotions such as love, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people have turned to exercise, better sleep habits, and their friends and families to try to reduce stress (ADAA). Listening to music is the best and safest way to reduce stress. Many people turn to drugs and alcohol when they are stressed. These forms of stress reducers can be very harmful to the body. For example, if someone is stressed and decides to smoke marijuana before they drive to work, there is impairment to the mind of the driver causing them to possibly crash. Instead of this person turning to drugs while driving, they can turn on music to reduce their stress on the way to work. When people listens to enjoyable music, they are able to forget about the stressful situations that are occurring in their life. Many are able to put themselves in another state of mind when listening to music. An altered state of mind is not as attainable through any other means. I have a personal experience with this type of stress reduction. Whenever I am feeling stressed about an exam, or an essay that is critical for my grade in a class, I listen to music to calm me down. When I listen to music, I forget about the task at hand and focus on the words of the song. When I am done listening to music I am much more productive and able to focus better on studying and writing. Many other people have told me they also experience the same benefits I do with stress reduction through music. Some people may enjoy hardcore, loud and aggressive music which can make them angry, agitated and antisocial. This can cause stress in their life because they are being influenced by the aggressive nature of the music. However, the majority of people who listen to music, do so with the intention of being soothed rather than being affected by a stress causing agent. This is obvious based on the many interactions I have had with others who appreciate listening to music. When listening to enjoyable music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The importance of these platforms is indubitable as it is elaborately discussed in more detail: In order for the meaning of brands to become fully concrete, the mediated meaning derived from advertising and promotion must be negotiated with the lived experience of purchase and usage, and particularly for brands with social symbolic positioning strategies these meanings must be validated through discursive elaboration in a social context (Elliott and Wattanasuwan, 1998). • 10. The Effect Of Salt And Sugar On Heart Rate How salt and sugar affect heart rate and blood pressure Heart rate is a measuring system for heart. It is measured by how many times then heart beats. A normal heart rate is usually between 60 100 beats. Abnormal is if the heart rate is too high or very low. Also, if the heart beats at irregular times. Some factors that change a person s heart rate are, the body temperature. It affects the heart rate because the warmer the body gets the heart beats more quickly. This happens because the body is trying to move more blood in the body to cool it down. When the body temperature is cold it also beats after because of it trying to keep the body warmer. Blood pressure is the pressure in the circulatory system. It is measured in systolic and diastolic. Systolic meaning when the arteries of the heart contract. Diastolic means the pressure in the blood vessels. The average blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg. Abnormal blood pressure is 120 139/80 doctors call it hypertension meaning almost high blood pressure, this is very dangerous for the heart since it puts a lot of strain on it. Some factors of high blood pressure are, obesity and smoking. Low blood pressure is if it is lower than the average. Doctors call this hypotension . • 11. The Goal Of The Journal 1. The goal of the journal is to explain several concepts, many being misunderstandings, of how dry ice is formed, and to use experiments to explain the hypotheses. The author provides explanations to scientific reactions that make fog result from mixing together dry ice and water. Kuntzleman, the author of A Molecular Explanation of How Fog is Produced When Dry Ice Is Placed in Water , also explains why various ideas about dry ice are false. He demonstrates his ideas using experiments he says can be performed using primarily cheap, and easy to find material. The first experiment constructed is set up to effectively measure the density of fog. Because the experiments all deal with dry ice, it is vital to be able to measure the density of the fog resulting from a dry ice and liquid combination. Using a 500 mL flask with a round bottom and two openings is necessary. Approximately 200 mL of liquid is put into the flask. A piece of approximately 10 grams of dry ice is then placed into one opening on the flask. The other opening is covered by a plastic cuvette. Through the cuvette the fog s density can be measured using an LED light and sensor. Fog density is then recorded using the intensity of the light with the formula for the density of the fog, log(I/I0). The next performed experiment deals with where the fog originates. The atmospheric water is not the basis of DIWF (Dry Ice Water Fog). The source of this fog comes from bulk water. To prove this using a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Overcoming Abusive Childhood In Thomas Sayer Ellis Sticks When children are growing, their very first role models are often their parents. Though this is true, they are not always the best ones. This idea is exemplified in Thomas Sayer Ellis s poem, Sticks. In the poem Sticks, the theme of overcoming an abusive childhood is demonstrated through the poets use of figurative language, sound and structural devices, and tone. To begin, Ellis uses figurative language throughout the poem to express a theme of overcoming an abusive childhood. Ellis uses imagery to suggest that his father had a very loud, outstanding voice when he says No one could outshout him / or make bigger fists. (7 8). He uses alliteration several times throughout the poem. For example, Ellis looks apon how as a child he imitated his father, despite the pain he was causing him. He expresses this when he says a plagiarist, hitting the things he hit (13). This use of alliteration adds flow to the poem in addition to adding extreme emotion for the readers. The use of caesura in this poem breaks apart the ideas that Ellis is trying to express. As mentioned above, the first five paragraphs are mentioned in a form of past tense where as the remaining three are in the present tense. Before the last three paragraphs break, there is a caesura which represents a change in tone as well as time. Ellis represents this idea when he states I discovered writing/ How words are parts of speech/ with beats and breaths of their own (21). This part of the poem is very important and represents a break in theme. Where the poem from before that was of the past, from that point on, the poem becomes hopeful. It is at that point that the narrator broke the cycle of abuse and did the opposite of what might be expected from a child who grew up in an abusive home. Whereas when he was a child he intimidated his father and idolized him, he chose a positive outlet and did not become the man that his father was. Finally, Ellis uses assonance to add flow and structure to the poem. He uses this device when he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory Of Development Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory of Development Erik Erikson, a German psychologist of the early 1900s, is most known for his theory on psychosocial development in humans. He was heavily influenced by his work with Anna Freud and her father, Sigmund Freud. However, in his research, he put emphasis on the cultural and social impact on identity development and studying the ego, which he believed developed with successful crisis resolving throughout life ( Erikson s Stages , 2007). He proposed the life long model of development, consisting of eight stages. Erikson assumes that in every stage of development, there is a crisis that the individual must overcome despite the conflict of their psychological needs and the needs of society (McLeod, 2008, ¶9). With achievement of the basic virtue associated with each stage, the individual can move forward with their development. The conflict between the ego and societal experiences, Erikson coined as an identity crisis ( Identity Formation , 2015, ¶2) The ultimate idea with the stages of development is that these struggles must be overcome by individuals in order to find their sense of identity and self knowledge. His theory heavily influences education, however not like many would expect. His research lies in helping people understand the importance in a positive relationship between students and teachers. The loaves varied in consistency; what we call the crust of the bread today was blackened at the outer edges then dark brown towards the center with water consistency increasing substantially towards the center of the loaf. Cato provided detailed descriptions of weights of both the grains and bread distributed to the slaves. Researchers were able to estimate the weights of the breads that were likely consumed daily. This estimate ranges from 4 to 5 pounds of bread daily, from which can be gleaned that the smaller loaves were especially dense in comparison to modern bread. This would have been a large volume of food for a slave, though they were likely only fed enough to continue working. Cato listed two recipes in his De Agri Cultura LVI and both are breads for offering rituals. It is clear from the writing Cato was not himself a baker, yet the recipes are enlightening nonetheless. Several challenges were encountered when Micah attempted to follow a recipe for the bread to be used in the ritual. All ingredients are listed in pounds but in current recipes most ingredients are measured by volume. Estimation was significant to approximate quantities, and substitutions had to be made as well. For example, Micah noted that cheese was used and consumed frequently in ancient Rome, but few entries about feasts indicate any specifics of the characteristics of cheese. If used in the bread, and it often was, it likely would have been a hard cheese. Cato described a process in his recipe, bray two pounds of cheese thoroughly in a mortar; when it is thoroughly macerated, add one pound of wheat flour. Today s palates would prefer a cheese with more oil in it. As it was being prepared for offering, the bread would probably have been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Red Guard Movement Essay The cultural revolution is a strange period in Chinese history laced with intense struggle and anguish. The cultural revolution mobilized the all of society to compete for all opposing factions that they belonged to (Ong, 2016). Mao mobilized the young people of society during a background of political turmoil, which helped Mao to mobilize the students in order to enforce his political legitimacy and ideas (Ong, 2016). Mao s charismatic authority created his personality cult and most defiantly leant a helping hand in mobilizing the red guard movement (Ong, 2016) (Weber, 1946) (Andreas, 2007). No matter which faction of the red guard they belonged to, they all mobilized against their common enemy; the better off, upper class. (Ong, 2016). Multiple ideologies within the youth led red guard movement explain why the movement gained momentum and became incredibly powerful (Walder, 2009). The red guard movement can be primarily explained two different theories. The first theory is the lack of political cohesion and party factionalism among the elites starting during the Great Leap Forward, which boiled into 100 Flowers Campaign and then subsequently the Cultural Revolution (Meisner, 1999). It is the battle between these elite factions and the prohibition of dissent which resulted in the creation of the Red Guards, which in effect served as agent for the Maoist faction (Yang, 2000). The second theory would be the breakdown of societal institutions, such as education, leading up to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In both situations management skills are essential. The study, at high school level, of modules such as business economics, organizational behaviour and marketing has helped me to develop a stronger grasp of management fundamentals. In the US, during a six month International Exchange Programme at the Sun Prairie High School in Wisconsin, I took a Business course, which sparked an interest in the field. The UK represents the ideal place for a Management student, to develop a further capability (not only theoretical, but also practical) of negotiating with different countries and cultures. Learning new ways of approaching issues would be extremely beneficial to me. More precisely, learning skills specific to the UK, such as British Business Law or the features of the domestic financial system, would come as a very valuable addition to my education. The UK university system is very different from the Italian system and is far more interactive. One of the key features that also really impresses me is the career guidance service offered by UK institutions along with careers events, career planning and job search support, which allow students to transition more easily from education to employment. Although they may initially be created to serve a purpose to a military or government, they have been adapted to fit into everyday language. Whether it be medical professionals, avid sports fans, or members of a certain generation, acronyms greatly contribute to group specific jargon. In militaries, efficiency is highly valued. To prevent from having to repeat obscenely long phrases, militaries frequently employ the use of acronyms. Various literatures on comparative institutional studies has been developed, in which the Varieties of Capitalism approach by Hall and Soskice (2001) is one of the most significant concepts that is being widely discussed. Institutional Complementarities The concept of institutional complementarities revolves around the notion of the idea that the co existence (within a given system) of two or more institutions mutually enhances the performance contribution of each individual institution (Deeg, 2007. P.611). Hopner (2005) argued that the idea of complementary implies that different spheres of institutions could only be combined in a number of ways in order to be effective, which enhanced the theory of the existence of various types of capitalisms. Hall and Soskice (2001) identified these differences in the varieties of capitalism literature and then classified economies into liberal market economies and coordinated market economies, each with its unique institutional complementarities. The United Kingdom representing LME Under the VoC framework, economies of various nations are mainly being classified into either liberal market economies or coordinated market economies. • 42. The Work Bicycle Thieves By Vittorio De Sica The work Bicycle Thieves is chosen to be discussed in this essay. Bicycle Thieves is an Italian film published in 1948, directed by Vittorio De Sica. It gained both commercial and artistic success, and have won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1948. The film is famous for its neorealism that reflects the post war Italian society. In the following essay, I m going to discuss how did De Sica use the cinematography skills to strengthen his expressions in Bicycle Thieves, and the ways he conveys the meaning of the film. De Sica claimed a film is reality transposed into the realm of poetry (Turan 103). So, the principle of his directing is to be genuine and realistic. This shares some similarities with the ideas of Italian neorealism. According to Ten points of neorealism published by the Paris Journal in 1952, a neorealist movie should have some of the following features: a message; topical scripts by concrete events; a sense of the masses; realism; the truth of actors (often non professionals) and lighting; refusal of the studio (Lielm 131 132). Bicycle Thieves comprise with most of the characteristics mentioned above and made good use of them: First, the selection of the actors. There are different types of financial instruments available for companies and investors to hedge against crude oil price volatility. These instruments can be traded financially without the tangible physical delivery of crude oil and different instruments have different time periods. Some of the hedging tools are Options, Futures and Swaps. But for this paper we will only focus on option contracts for management of risk in crude oil trading. • 48. Benefits Of Employees And Employees At The Workplace Is... Harvard Business School Professor Michael Beer stated I think there is an implicit negotiation going on between what management wants and expects, and what employees want and expect (Lagace, 2003). One aspect of the ongoing negotiation between employers and employees in the workplace is the utilization of incentive pay plans. Employers utilize incentive pay plans to motivate and change employee behaviors in order to prioritize behaviors and outcomes that the employer is looking for. Pay for performance appears to be a common sense solution to motivate employees. It creates a reward system for employees that is tied to job performance and meeting criteria that the employer values (Taylor, 2013). While the idea of offering financial incentives to employees appears to be grounded in business principles and ideas that have existed for a long time, they are not always successful. In order to for pay for performance incentive tools to live up to their potential in the workplace they must be crafted to meet the needs of organization as well needs of the employee, the plan must also be maintained and evaluated on a regular basis. Failure to do so can cause more harm than not utilizing one.
