Community, Identity, and Stability Essay
Community, Identity, Stability But I don t want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real
danger, I want freedom, I want goodness, I want sin (Huxley 215). In Brave New World people
lives were different and they had different believes they were not allowed to feel emotion because
as the Director said emotions are unstable. They were conditioned to think the way their world is
formed is perfect, but actually it isn t. Emotions could be unstable, but is better to feel them instead
of being an inhumane person that doesn t feel anything. People have to paid a price that they didn t
choose and that is unjust for them because they have to take what is giving to them. In the World
State people seems to be happy with what the have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flowers are seen as beautiful and represent nature as the same as love when you give them to
someone special. is unjust to lack someone to feel appreciation to natural things and lack them
from education. Another important fact is that people in the World State doesn t have values as
now we do. The concept of family doesn t exist, they consider this word as obscene as the same
as father and mother . In our world family is the most important aspect for most people and we
demonstrate love and support to them all the time. Marriage was another value that people
doesn t had and they seem it as horrible, for example when John propose Lenina to married him
she said, what horrible idea! (174). This shows how the idea of getting married with somebody
was seen as something really bad, which for us is beautiful. Also, people were not allowed to
feel emotions, because emotions are seen as a risk of loosing stability in their community. If
they feel some kind of emotions they have to take soma to forget them. Is like if somebody have
to take drugs all the time in order to be happy. In my opinion I prefer to feel emotions even if no
all of them are good, instead of being like an object that doesn t feel anything. The price that
people paid in order to have a stable community is very high and it doesn t worth it. Values are

Percy Shelley Research Paper
Percy Shelley has always been an individualist, taking the controversial aspect of topics and
sticking to his beliefs; whether or not he got worshipped or abhorred did not matter or affect his
opinion ( Percy Bysshe Shelley ). Throughout his life span of the late 1700s and early 1800s, he
managed to fill his mind with his own thoughts and did not let anything block him from pursuing
his passion in writing. Percy Bysshe Shelleyexpressed his individualism and realness in his works
through a unique style of writing shown in Ozymandias and To a Skylark ; although he learned
and grew from his criticisms, he was heavily influenced by his childhood, personal beliefs, and
views and experiences of the world. Being born during what is known as The

Literary Analysis Of The Hunger Games
Fighting to the End
There is not a single fascinating work of fiction to be found which has no hero to admire. The
notion of a hero implies a charismatic, and often selfless person, whose indispensable qualities are
determination and fortitude. Having a clear goal, they do everything possible to achieve it. Katniss
Everdeen, the protagonist of the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, possesses all the features
inherent in a true hero.
The narration takes place in a post apocalyptic North America. The nation state of Panem is
separated into twelve districts, the thirteenth of which having been destroyed due to the first
rebellion against the Capitol. Katniss hails from a poor coal mining District 12, where she lives
with her mother and younger sister Prim. The Hunger Games is an event held by the Capitol
every year, used as a means to both entertain its citizens and to constantly remind the districts of its
immense authoritative power. Two tributes, one boy and one girl, are randomly selected from each
district by means of a lottery system on Reaping Day. The games reach its end when a single
tribute is still alive and proclaimed the winner.
The hero receives a call to adventure when her sister Primrose is initially selected as a tribute.
Immediately and without hesitation, Katniss volunteers to take her sister s place, only to realize
afterwards what a fierce struggle she is about to undertake with her life on the line. The girls father
being dead, Katniss is the only one

Essay on Historical Truth
Historical Truth
Historical Truth?
As a child sits through history class in the first grade, he or she learns of the relationship between
Christopher Columbus and the Indians. This history lesson tells the children of the dependence
each group had on each other. But as the children mature, the relations between the two groups
began to change with their age. So the story that the teenagers are told is a gruesome one of savage
killings and lying. When the teenagers learn of this, they themselves might want to do research on
this subject to find out the truth. But as one searches, one finds the inconsistency between the
research books. So the question is, who is telling the truth? Mary Louise Pratt and Jane Tompkins
probe these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A contact zone, according to Pratt, is where two cultures meet, clash, and grapple with each other
(625). Ethnography is a story where the superior writes about the inferior, while autoethnography
is the opposite, telling a story by the inferior about the superior. As the cultures clash, the winner
gets to tell the story. The winner is usually the one who has the superior power. Pratt brings up this
idea while she discusses two authors: de la Vega and Poma. De la
Vega s ethnographic text illustrates the relationship between the Incas and the Spanish during the
conquering of the Inca s land. On the other hand, Poma s autoethnographic text on this historical
account contains conflicting ideas. But both of these essays are sent to the king of Spain. Which
essay is read by the king? For one, it is not Poma s essay since it is [s]uch a text is heterogeneous
on the reception end as well as the production end: it will read very differently to people in different
positions in the contact zone...it deploys systems of meaning making, the letter necessarily means
differently to bilingual Spanish Quechua speakers and to monolingual speakers in either language
(536)
With such a language barrier between who Poma is trying to make contact with, the Spanish
King, allows his letter to be lost. But de la Vega, who is a son of a
Spanish official, writes his letter to the King of Spain. De la Vega also spoke
Quechua, but his book is

The Music Of The Hip Hop
The Hip Hop is basically a cultural movement that originated in the Suburbs of cities. It was
began to evolve in 1970 and in particular by the Americans who of African descent (American
Africans) . Rap is a type of singing. It combines the performance of different rap utter words
without committing to a particular tune, and rhythm. Rap began in Kingston, Jamaica City at the
end of the sixties as a kind new musical was derived from dancehall. It has spread in the United
States at the beginning of the seventies in the Bronx. Since the hip hop appeared in New York in
the early seventies. This phenomenon has grown to include all ways of life and living, that for a
number of compact and well established factors such as: Ethnic minority, technology, art, the street
s life and slums. Often these trading music and singing folk poets and street youth who suffer from
oppression, troubled physical and social conditions such as poverty, unemployment, addiction, or
who the rigors of life led them to engage in the world of gangs and the drug trade. That does not put
hip hop within narrow limits of poverty, drugs and crime and delinquency framework. Perhaps one
of the most important reasons which made the music of hip hop spread at the Arab streets is a
domination of American culture through cinema and the media. There is a permanent tendency
among Arab youth to mimic any kind of American cultures especially because it promoted with the

Choosing The Right Of Passage For Teenagers
My fellow city council I agree that you should pass this curfew making it were it is illegal for
teenagers to be out past ten on weekdays and midnight on the weekends. For one teenagers do not
need to be out past these times anyways because if they are most likely nothing could will come
out of it. Nextel it the right of passage for a teenager to have a curfewfor generations parents have
given their kids a curfew it is just teenagers never hardly lesson to them. Giving teenagers a curfew
keeps them safe and would give the parents the ease of mind knowing about their kid.

McDonald s Faces Millennial Challenge by: Julie Jargon

healthier food and chains that offer customizable menu options for little more than the price of a

In the U.S., with more than 40% of McDonald s 35,000 plus global locations, sales at restaurants
open at least 13 months have been flat or falling for most of the past year.
The hamburger giant on Friday announced it was replacing the head of its U.S. division for the
second time in less than two years. The company tapped a former executive, Mike Andres, to take
the helm of the domestic business another sign that the company is trying to revive its fortunes at
home.
McDonald s stock has traded in a relatively narrow range in the nearly 26 months since Chief
Executive Don Thompson took the helm, while the share prices of many of its rivals have soared.
McDonald s shares are down about 2% since the start of the year, closing at $94.45 Friday.
Demographics help shed light on McDonald s woes. Data compiled for The Wall Street Journal by
restaurant consultancy Technomic Inc. point to an age problem for the chain. Customers in their

Paradise pond is a well known trademark of Smith college. Having been in place long before
Smith College was founded, it has always served as a breathtaking release from the realities of

The Tragic Hero Of Marcus Junius Brutus Minor Essay
Marina Senseney
Eng. ll / 4th block
October 27, 2015
Tragic hero
Marcus Junius Brutus Minor was the son of Marcus Junius Brutus Maior and Servilia Caepionis.
His father was killed by Pompey the Great in dubious circumstances after he had taken part in the
rebellion of Lepidus; his mother was the half sister of Cato the Younger, and later Julius Caesars
mistress. Some sources refer to the possibility of Caesar being his real father, despite Caesar s
being only 15 years old when Brutus was born. Brutus uncle, Quintus Servilius Caepio, adopted
him in about 59 BC, and Brutus was known officially for a time as Quintus Servilius Caepio
Brutus before he reverted to using his birth name. Following Caesar s assassination in 44 BC,
Brutus revived his adoptive name in order to illustrate his links to another famous tyrannicide,
Gaius Servilius Ahala, from whom he was descended. Brutus held his uncle in high regard and his
political career started when he became an assistant to Cato, during his governorship of Cyprus.
During this time, he enriched himself by lending money at high rates of interest. Brutus was also
active in the province of Cilicia, in the year before Cicero was proconsul there; Cicero documents
how Brutus profited from moneylending to the provincials in his Letters. He returned to Rome a
rich man, where he married Claudia Pulchra. From his first appearance in the Senate, Brutus
aligned with the Optimates (the conservative faction) against the First Triumvirate

Nonprofit Theatres
Finances
A problem with the arts in general, and theatre in specific, is funding and paying for everything
that goes into the creation of the art. In the case of other forms of art, visual arts specifically, the
artists often invest in the art, first absorbing the costs of material then selling the art for a profit.
This is harder in theatre and fine arts where personal budgets are often overwhelmed by the cost of
materials, technical instruments, and other costly measures necessary for the show to go on, this,
not including the money to keep the lights on and the space open. Regional theatres outnumber
what most people consider professional theatre, such as Broadway, and a good percentage of
regional theatres are nonprofit. Nonprofit theatres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Branding can draw people in, but can also drive people away, and in order to be successful it
must be unified across platforms. Branding for the arts is a bit more difficult than branding for a
company. Essentially, the products and the tone of the brand changes with each new season. To
accommodate this we must build a brand that both separates us from the competition and allows
for flexibility. For example, the Croswell Opera House markets itself as the oldest theatre in
Michigan. This is something they have used to create their brand, it separates them from the
local competition, but also doesn t pigeonholes them into a certain type of performance. In this
way they are both flexible and unique. Theatres help to shape their brand with their
performances. By performing a certain type of theatre, whether experimental, Shakespearean, or
classical, a theatre can quickly gain a reputation, and a brand. Recently, the push for theatres has
been the move to social media. We typically think of regional theatre attendees as being older,
and in fact the mean age of theatre goers is 44 years. (Broadway League. 2015) This presents a
problem. Unless we engage younger audiences, the current theatre goers will age and we may start
to lose our audiences. (Shugoll Research. 2008) So theatres are now looking to branch out and
going to where they can reach a younger generation. In addition, our generations have

Affordable Care Act, By President Obama
The Affordable Care Act, signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010, fails to reach
the intended goal of being more affordable for those in the population who cannot afford health
insurance. The Affordable Care Act affects taxes, the out of pocket spending as well as the
national debt. Now, considering the word affordable is in the name of the act itself, it is very
contradicting that the Affordable Care Act is not very affordable . Affordable has a very
different meaning if you were to ask people across the nation. People in Montana for example,
the average salary in the state of Montana is $37,575, while in the state of New York, the average
salary is $52,330. People in Montana would see $25,000 a lot differently than people... Show more

Also, by forcing everyone to have health insurance, you put an extra burden on employers.
Employers not only now have to pay the employees, but they have to provide health insurance. If
health insurance is not provided, employers are forced to pay a fine. It should be the individual
person s responsibility to pay for themselves to be covered, not the employer s responsibility.
The individual mandate is the base of the Affordable Care Act which requires all Americans to
obtain health insurance. The fine for not having health insurance would be taken out of your
income tax for every month health insurance is not obtained. Sadly, there is only a small
window for signing up for this health insurance. There is a certain open enrollment period in
which people must sign up by, or they would have to wait until the next period. This means, if a
person were to miss the enrollment period, they would have to suffer the fine for the next
consecutive months until the next enrollment period. Since 2014, the fee has risen each year.
Therefore, Americans who struggle enough to live and couldn t afford the affordable health care
would suffer greatly due to the increased fines. An article published by a mix of doctors from
across the country shows how these fines are imposed. There are financial penalties in the form of
a new tax on individuals who fail to buy health

Political Theories And Ideology Of Liberal Democracy Essay
Many challenges put a stress on Modern Democracy because of the political theories and
ideology our government holds, the current politicians taking office, inequalities throughout
social classes and economies, and the opinions of We the People . Nearly every country claims to
be some form of a democracy, but not all these self proclaimed democracies allow for free politics,
good government, and rule of law (Crick, 2002). Liberal democracyhas begun to win over its
royalist, fascist, and collectivist rivals over the course of the last few centuries, and the freedom
to vote has been steadily expanded to those who were without it. But the liberal democracies of the
world do have problems. Democracy is only as good as its citizens, and the quality of those citizens
demands certain constant factors (7 Concerns, 2012).
Gerrymandering is the process in which political boundaries are redraw or changed in order to
benefit one political party over another one; if one party has power of the state legislature, then they
can change political boundaries to maximize their chances of winning congressional districts to win
an election. By doing this, unfair and skewed results are produced because redrawn lines can be
made to help one party win over the other, since constituents for the losing party will be divided
between districts (Tormsen, 2015). This will also allow the winning party to win more electoral
votes and seats (Tormsen, 2015). This practice is uniquely American and can be

From infancy, Y Chun recognized that she was helpless, and this helplessness was characterized
by feelings of inferiority. Inferiority feelings are considered a normal condition of all people and
are identified as a foundation for human striving. Thus, Y Chun s feelings of inferiority are not
treated as a sign of weakness; rather, these feelings encourage her to strive for superiority. Y Chun
has worked to compensate for her feelings of helplessness by striving for competence and
perfection. Y Chun is currently juggling a number of tasks in which she is attempting to
demonstrate her competence, such as going to school, working, and raising her children, and it is
likely that her desire to achieve superiority is contributing to her current symptomology. It is

she is striving to be superior to others. Instead, it means that Y Chun has been and will continue to

Cyanide ( Cn- ) Compounds And Deviations Of It
Cyanide (CN anion) compounds and deviations of it (HCN, KCN) have been in use for many
years as poisons in various settings. In Ancient Egypt plants containing trace concentrations of
cyanide have been used as lethal poisons and in World War II HCN was employed with a base to
mass exterminate millions of people in Nazi camps. Another historically used method of cyanide
poisoningis through gas chambers created by addition of a cyanide salt into an acid to create HCN
(g). Although many forms of cyanide exist, the most common is HCN, which naturally is released
into the atmosphere from plants, volcanoes and bacteria/fungi. The primary source of cyanide
poisoning in humans is through accidental ingestion of plants. More than 2,000 plant species
contain cyanogenic glycosides that when ingested can be rapidly hydrolyzed into cyanide. This
rapid hydrolysis occurs when cell structure of the plant is disturbed thus plant products that are

with failure in detoxification mechanisms specifically targeting cyanide compounds2.

Henry eventually gets his red badge of courage by getting hit in the head with a rifle. In Knowle s
novel, the symbol is the giant tree on the Devon campus. The giant tree represents fears and
obstacles of boys growing to be men. When Gene was younger the giant tree always gave him
chills, because that is where his friend Finny fell and broke his leg. Finny died because of the
broken leg. Gene visits Devon Boarding School around 15 years later. This time Gene is grown
and in his mid thirties. Gene notices the huge tree that gave him chills when he was younger.
This time when Gene saw the huge tree it seemed not as big as he expected it to be. The tree did
not bring as much chills neither. It is easy to infer that the giant tree brought a little discomfort
to him because that is where his friend broke his leg. When Gene arrived at the school he saw
the giant tree and said This was the tree, and it seemed to me standing there to resemble those
men, the giants of your childhood, whom you encounter years later and find that they are not
merely smaller in relation to your growth, but that they are absolutely smaller, shrunken by age.
In this double demotion the old giants have become pigmies while you were looking the other
way (Knowles 14). The tree represents fears and obstacles, because the giants can be scary. The
giants also can get in the way of your life. A theme from the novel is how effective memories can

The Maccabees Rebelled Against The Seleucid Empire
From 1000 B.C.E. to 100 C.E. the Jews generally did not have much power. Throughout this time
period the Jews were either attempting to gain power, under someone else s power, or losing their
previously achieved status in power. However, in defining power as military strength, the ability to
maintain distinctiveness from other people, or the ability to shape people s practices and beliefs,
the amount of power the Jewshad fluctuated slightly, but mostly remained low.
If power is strictly define by military strength and presence, then the Jews had virtually no power
during this time period. Because the Jews were dominated by various empires they had no
opportunity to build a strong military force. The Jews most notable military events was the
Maccabean rebellion. The Maccabees rebelled against the Seleucid Empire from 167 B.C.E to 160

Paul was a Hebrew born of Hebrews, who lived from 5 C.E. to 67 C.E. and became seen as a

spread the ways of Jesus to non Jews in attempt to save everyone when the world ended. He went

Judaism, it was to spread the ways of Jesus s life, so the Jewish people didn t have direct power
to shape other s beliefs. In examining power from different angles, it can be determined that

Claude Mckay Analysis
Claude Mckay, 1889 1948 (unannotated) If we must die let it not be like hogs The simile let it not
be like hog motivates the audience to die with dignity, it does this by implanting the thought of
dying like a hog, since hogs often die a brutal and cruel death this simile motivates the audience to
die a righteous death. This is a powerful line as it states the idea of the poem and sets the scene for
the audience. This line is the beginning of an extended metaphor. Hunted and penned in an

hogs and the killing of African Americans are alike. This line continues the extended metaphor.

Creativism a Constant Company of Humans Throughout History
As Carl Gustav Jung wisely stated, there is a certain fascination with regard to creativity.
Creativity expresses itself in many different forms, shapes, sizes, colours and sounds. It is a
concept difficult to grasp as it is broad. However most people would think of themselves as being
able to judge who and what is actually creative. But what exactly is creativity? Amible (1983)
defines creativity as the production of ideas, insights and also products that are both, original
and adaptive. Originality in this context refers to novelty of an idea and adaptation to the
appropriateness. This is the definition predominantly used in creativity research (Sternberg
Lubart 1999; Simonton Damian,2013) and is therefore used in this paper as well. In historical
terms, creativity was a constant accompanist of human kind. We had to change the environment,
and invent tools according to our needs in order to survive. Thus, creativity is a universal
occurrence in all cultures (Simonton Ting, 2010). However, which idea is assumed to be
original and appropriate, so considered to be creative, depends strongly on context and time
(Njistad et al., 2010). As stated by Nijstad et al. (2010) the work of Vincent van Gough is a good
example of a different perception of creativity in different times. When Van Gough died he was a
poor man but his works are sold for millions today. Similar is the example of the French post
impressionist artist Paul Gauguin who was not well appreciated until

Classroom Reflection
At Rolling Green, many areas are used for gym classes now. The temperature recently just rose
to the mid 60s. Before the temperature rose, students would participate outside on the schools
tennis court, around the baseball diamond, and sometimes the old soccer field. Now, students are
participating in the small gym towards the middle of the school building. This helps make it
easier for students who didn t dress for the cold weather stay warm. As well as not fully
protecting students, but avoiding possibility for children to get sick due to extreme climate
change. In this reflection, I will give a brief description of the physical arrangements in the
physical education classroom inside. I will then give a description of routines and procedures.
Next, I will talk about one of the instructors grouping strategies and activities that stuck out to me
the most. Finally, I will speak about one change I would make, and why I would make that change.
To begin with, the inside physical education classroom is extremely small. Normally there will be
two classes in the room at one time, which leads to the instructors dividing the room up with the
middle door. When the gym is divided, the left side just has a stage and volleyball nets taking up a
small percentage of space. On the other side of the divided room, there are chairs, volleyball polls,
and tumbling mats cluttering the rooms space. Normally the Instructor will try to move extra items
out of the way as much as possible. If students have to run, then the items are moved to the four
furthest corners of that side of the room. Other times the extra items will be placed in the instructors
personal office, or even the equipment storage room. On both sides of the gym, there are posters all
over the walls to motivate the students to be healthy, happy and enjoy life t the fullest. There are
also some pictures of students with their instructors, and more photos of students in uniforms for
certain sports.
A daily routine for all of my instructors students, would be to come in the classroom and stand in
order by their last name. The instructor has already made groups for the students, there are
normally 4, but no more than 5 students to each row. After the students get into

Use a wet pastry brush to eliminate sugar crystals

Once final required colour is attained stop cooking and Pour in moulds
CARAMEL AND CRYSTALLIZATION
When a wet caramel is made, first we make a sugar syrup which is sugar dissolved in water. The
water evaporates as heating process continue to make caramel, the syrup becomes super
saturated, which means that it holds more sugar molecules than the normal capacity of water.
Due to this, the sugar tries to re crystallize. If this happens, final product ends up with a pan full
of clear rock candy. In order to avoid this, we have to make sure pan is spotlessly clean. Sugar
molecules have jagged edges and can easily stick to each other or to the impurities from the pan. A
tool is required to stir caramel, which may contain impurities leading to crystallization, some
people also say that stirring in itself (after the sugar has dissolved) can cause the sugar syrup to
crystallize, as stirring encourages the sugar molecules to clump together. So instead, swirling the
pan is another option

be avoided by removing it from the heat, adding a few tablespoons of water, returning it to the
heat, and stirring until the crystals dissolve before continuing on However, it s better to keep
recrystallization from occurring in the first place, so there are a few ways to prevent

What Is The Theme Of Coole Park
Assignment 1: Close Reading Coole Park, 1929 is a poem written by W.B Yeats. This poem is
part of the works the poet wrote in the third phase of his career; a phase characterized by the
retrospective of his personal experience within the framework of Irish history. Through this poem,
W.B Yeats broaches the theme of memory, the artistic creation and pays tribute to Lady Gregory
and her estate.
Memory is a central theme in Coole Park . This poem is constituted of four stanzas of eight verses
each, all structured in Iambic pentameters. Each stanza is written in Ottava Rima, a very popular
poetic form associated to Italian epic poems during the Renaissance. This rhyming stanza form
refers to the past and permits to the poet to broach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the ninth verse, the poet gives a symbolic dimension to a blade; There Hyde before he had
beaten into prose; That noble blade the Muses buckled on (v9 10). Here, the alliteration in b
reinforces the musicality of the verse. In the verses twelve and thirteen, the poet paints a portrait of
Douglas Hyde and John Synge. The full rhyme pose (v11) and those (v13) associates the two
characters. The repetition of the words There and that in the stanza emphasizes the descriptive
dimension of the verses (v9, v10, v11, v13). The musicality of the stanza is enhanced by the
internal rhyme of the verse 14; Impetuous men, Shawe Taylor and Hugh Lane . In the third
stanza, these literary figures are compared to swallows; They came like swallows and like
swallows went (v17). This imagery of the swallows echoes with the first verse of the poem. Lady
Gregory s depiction of a poet s guide is emphasized by an enjambment between the verse eighteen
and nineteen. Finally, Coole Park is described as the heart of artistic creation through a comparison
to a compass point attracting half a dozen of poets in creative effervescence

worked until they were at an age where they did not feel useful, and for the rest of their lives their
families would take care of them. Industrialization... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The GDP was more than doubled between 1940 and 1960, and many brand new jobs were
generated in both industrial type jobs and the growing service sector. Due to all the
development and modernization, a much more efficient and educated workforce was required,
which began to exclude less educated older workers from employment. After World War II, the
workplace was changed forever because of the new technology which exterminated many jobs,
and employees were expected to know more than ever and work very quickly. When the baby
boom generation was in its youth, the workplace again was changed by the glut of young
workers. Those who were old or even middle age started to meet more pressure to leave the
workforce entirely, and retire. It was also common for the elderly to be forced out entirely. Older
workers who were women or part of minority groups faced particularly daunting odds because
they had not one barrier but two in the way of being employed. Technology again played a large
role in keeping older workers out of the workplace because many of the younger workers had
taken computer classes and had experience with it. All of these factors led to the reaction of the
public and government, which took action to even the playing field for all Americans.
The types of discrimination that went on before the ADEA resulted in many law suits against
corporations. Discrimination is judged by either direct or indirect Evidence under the law. However,

Moral Codes
Morality defines us , human beings, by setting the principle for what is right or wrong. The aura
surrounding morality delineates our values and our ability to make critical decisions. Moral
codes are the values that shape us as unique people and they are values that one stands by.
Without it, we would have outlawed thoughts and order in the world dissipates. Like others,
moral codes play a substantial role in my life and they dictate the decisions I make in everyday
life. Firstly, the idea that purging of one s life is unjust is a tenet that I have a strong stance on.
Despite the real world repercussions such as prison and a death sentence, the reason that I believe
in it is due to the barrage of guilt that I would feel. Whether it be a criminal or a person who I
despise, it doesn t vindicate the action of murder. In the heat of a moment, words will be exchanged
and tempers can spark but it should never reach that extent. Taking alternative means and avoiding
the confrontation should be the way forward although it is a hard to come to terms with it.
Furthermore, coming from a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Honesty is the best policy and the fact is that the saying does resonate with us. As an individual,
being honest can spare you from self condemnation and sleepless nights. Reminisce to a day
when you lied to a person who was close to you and later realizing that you disowned that person.
Recursive contemplation kicks in and you come to the consensus that you have done wrong and
that you regret your decision. It creates a barrier between the two of you. On a spiritual level,
there is a feeling of disregarding our beliefs and that it is a sinful act. You wouldn t be able to
come to terms with what you have done and would come to the understanding that you haven t
obliged in your spiritual duty as a Christian. As a result, doubt starts to creep in about your values
and whether you actually believe in your

The Uniform Resource Locator ( Url ) Essay
These days if we see any business whether it is a small or a big but all of them should have online
existence. And these data online can be stored through a web site or a web page. The user wishing
to access this information will then search for it, but there are billions of web sites and web pages.
How will one be able to search for the specific web page or website? So there should be a specific
name, number or name tag through which we can differentiate all websites and web pages. The
URL plays the same role as the name or identity of a web page or website. Basically a URL is one
type of uniform resource identifier (URI); the generic term for all types of names and address that
refers to objects on the World Wide Web
. There is a specific format of URL. We can also say URL
as a web address. The uniform resource locator (URL) was developed by Tim Berners Lee in
1994 and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) URI working group. The URL format is
specified in RFC 1738 Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Every domain name has a suffix that
indicates which top level domain (TLD) it belongs to. There are only a limited number of such
domains. For example: .com, .net, .gov, .edu, .org etc. because the internet is based on IP
address, not domain names, every web server requires a Domain Name System (DNS) server to
translate domain names into IP address. A domain name is the address of your web site. This is
what is entered by your users who wants to see your web page or

Compare And Contrast Bo And Odysseus
Jesse Jackson stated, If you fall behind, run faster. Never give up, never surrender, and rise up
against the odds. (Brainyquote.com) this quote can be applied to real life or fiction. Jeannette, Bo,
and Odysseus embody this quote in their existence. All three of these characters have situations in
their lives where at least one person has put them down and are adamant that they cannot fulfill the
goals that they have set for themselves. Odysseusfrom The Odyssey, Jeannette Walls from The

First Abstract Watercolor And Les Damoiselles D E Avignon
Wassily who is Russian has painted this painting in Munich, Germany. In this painting there is a
colorful swirl of activity of reds, pails blue, blacks, and yellows. The First Abstract Watercolor
painting had largely the same impact in art as the eastern European art community as Picasso s
cubist Les Damoiselles d e Avignon did in Paris around almost the same time. The difference
between the two paintings were the sizes and the media that would account for its difference in
the impact of the artists at that time period. Wassily was born in 1866 Moscow well educated and
had upper class parents of mixed ethnic origins. His father had encouraged his unique and
precocious gift of the arts and had enrolled him into private drawing classes.

Sleary And Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism, a philosophy that values the happiness of the general population above the
happiness of an individual, ironically caused more than its fair share of sorrow. Thriving in the
Industrial Revolution s environment of corrupt businessmen, lethargic politicians, and draconian
educators, utilitarianism seeks only quantifiable results, abandoning emotion and imagination in
favor of facts. With its opening exclamation of Facts, facts, facts! Charles Dickens immediately
makes it clear that Hard Times intends to critique the flawed obsessions of utilitarianism. Most
notably, he introduces the Gradgrinds of Coketown, an unmistakable product of a society gone
dreadfully wrong. Look no further than Mr. Gradgrind, Dicken s personification... Show more

Gradgrind, in order to provide better context for the ideological conflict between Sleary s Circus
and utilitarianism. While Dickens conspicuously decorates the circus people with fairytale imagery,
he only seems to arrange these imaginative descriptions around Gradgrind in a situation where it
would highlight his differences. A prime example of this situation is when Gradgrind reminisces the
method he taught his children, annunciating that the first object of which they had remembrance
was a large blackboard with a dry Ogre chalking ghastly white figure on it. Not that they knew, by
name or by nature, anything about an Ogre. Fact forbid! Though not spoken in reference to Sleary s
circus, Dickens elaborates on the relationship between the circus people and the Gradgrinds. On one
hand, the circus people readily embrace imagination, it being part of their nature. On the other hand,
when Gradgrind even contemplates an ogre, he is greatly disconcerted. Furthermore, Gradgrind s
thought process further delineates the mindset of those infatuated with the facts, facts, facts,
philosophy. As evident from Dicken s abundant use of fairytale imagery, Sleary s circus symbolizes
both imagination and childhood, neither of which appeal to straitlaced ideals of

The Character Of Eddie Rake In John Grishams Bleachers
Eddie Rake was a man with power. He used his power to train and better the young men of
Messina. However, Eddie had love and admiration for his players. In John Grishams Bleachers,
Eddie Rake is seen as a Hero, savior, all powerful. What people do not realize is that his love is
power, love can always be power but power will never be love. Eddie Rake has done his best to
use his power to influence the entire town of Messina. He may not have known that he did, but
Eddie was able to help everyone in that small town have a taste of greatness. The Spartan
football team most of all. Eddie pushed his players to the point that, sooner or later, each one of
them grew to hate him. Messina citizens had a different view of Eddie, they loved him. Why?
Because who would not love a man that could put their small town on the map with an 89 streak
win in football. Eddie had made such an impact on Messina that when asked, they got him a new
football field, even naming it after him. When the team needed new equipment, the booster club

to the breaking point because if he didn t, they would not be where they are today. They would
not be the prize of messina, they would not have won the hearts of the thousand fans that came
to watch every game. Eddie Rake had allowed his players to experience something that so few

What Is Australia s Journey To Gallipoli
The journey to Gallipoli for the young Australian boys was quite an adventure but it had diabolical
consequences for some of them. In Gallipoli, Peter Weir explores the hard journeys the young
Australians had to endure. Because the soldiers hadn t any idea what they were getting themselves
into, when they arrived the repercussions were tremendous. The journey through Australia, to Egypt
and then to Turkey was not pleasant for the young soldiers because they were all so far from the
places they knew and it was such a long, hard journey. In the filmthe young Australians had a lot of
new experiences being so far from home and they also lost a lot of their innocence from being so
exposed to death and destruction.

The voyage was hard, long, and tiring. The soldiers spent many days walking through desserts,
hills and trenches. It started with Archie and Frank catching the wrong train and then having to
walk through the Australian outback to get to Perth where the boats leave to Egypt. They
walked under the beating sun for days with only the packs they brought and a small amount of
water. While they were walking you could tell they were exhausted because every step they took
they were rigid. Once they arrived at Perth and joined the Australian troops they then went to
Egypt. Egypt is mostly dessert so when they arrived they had to endure more traveling on foot or
horse back. Can you even imagine carrying close to a 30 kg pack on your back for days on end?

A hurricane is a tropical storm with very violent winds. It moves in a rotational circle. I have only
actually seen a hurricane on tv and in books. I know they have them in a lot of tv shows. The eye
of the hurricane is the middle part which is the most calm. The eyewall is the outside, which is the
most dangerous part of the hurricane. Windis when the air moves. The Saffir simpson scale is a
scale used to find how bad a hurricane is. A hurricane watch is a warning to everyone in the area
that wind is a high speed. A hurricane is formed over warm water. The warm water helps carry it
to land, because it is like food. Water vapor makes the clouds that can rain so it will be an actual

Can the Jewish, Christian and Islamic Communities Coexist...
I have been advised by the ruling council of Neutralia to conduct research regarding whether the
three communities, each following a different religion, (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) will be
able to coexist together harmoniously and peacefully in our nation. I have looked at all the three
holy scriptures as well as history and present day examples either supporting or opposing the idea
of them being able to live side by side without conflict.
The Bible
Looking at the holy scripture of Christianity, the Bible, I found that christians are supposed to
spread their religion as much as possible as they want to offer salvation for as many as possible,
but are not to act out as the non believers unwillingness will eventually punish them when they go
to hell. (King James Bible Online Revelation 21:8) Further, it talks about the Jews really
following Satan and not God/G d, as he has blinded them from seeing that the Messiah has come
as they teach in Christianity, since they are still waiting. It says that Jews say they are Jews but
really aren t, referring to them as the synagogue of Satan. (King James Bible Online Revelation 2: 9)
The Qur an
Qur an tells its followers that they should respect the other two Abrahamic religions and their
scriptures, as they are people of the scriptures/book . (The Noble Qur an 29:46, 3:64 65 and 12:111,
Noorhan Abbas, Dr. Eric Atwell, Root, David) Moreover, it claims that all believers can enter

Chondroitin Research Paper
Joint pain is one of the most common problems among people over 50. This is good to know, but
this knowledge doesn t alleviate the pain and swelling in your joints. Taking NSAIDs like
Ibuprofen can help, but you re worried about the long use effects, such as gastrointestinal bleeding.
These concerns have led many joint pain sufferers to consider natural remedies as a complement or
replacement for their current treatment. Some natural remedies and supplements have shown some
promising results, and Chondroitin is one of them.
What is Chondroitin?
Chondroitin (also known as Chondroitin Sulfate) is a chemical compound produced naturally by
your joints. Chondroitin helps nourish the cartilage between your joints and acts as a natural shock

Glucosamine, and particularly Glucosamine sulfate, has is commonly used to treat osteoarthritis,
and is the form most widely studied for this use. Your body s glucosamine levels as you age and
taking glucosamine supplements may help you to restore damaged cartilage, the fundamental cause
of osteoarthritis pain.
Some studies have shown that glucosamine is as effective as nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs
(NSAIDs) in reducing mild to moderate osteoarthritis pain. These studies also show that
Glucosamine takes more time to relieve pain, reducing pain in 4 8 weeks as compared to common
NSAIDs like Motrin and Advil, which reduce pain in about 2 weeks. the prestigious British medical
journal, Lancet, recently published the results of a three year study that found glucosamine sulfate
was effective in relieving pain and in stopping further joint cartilage damage
While the evidence is very promising for its use in the treatment of osteoarthritis, studies of
glucosamine for treatment of other joint pain related disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis and
chronic low back pain have been much less compelling.

  • 2. Community, Identity, and Stability Essay Community, Identity, Stability But I don t want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness, I want sin (Huxley 215). In Brave New World people lives were different and they had different believes they were not allowed to feel emotion because as the Director said emotions are unstable. They were conditioned to think the way their world is formed is perfect, but actually it isn t. Emotions could be unstable, but is better to feel them instead of being an inhumane person that doesn t feel anything. People have to paid a price that they didn t choose and that is unjust for them because they have to take what is giving to them. In the World State people seems to be happy with what the have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Flowers are seen as beautiful and represent nature as the same as love when you give them to someone special. is unjust to lack someone to feel appreciation to natural things and lack them from education. Another important fact is that people in the World State doesn t have values as now we do. The concept of family doesn t exist, they consider this word as obscene as the same as father and mother . In our world family is the most important aspect for most people and we demonstrate love and support to them all the time. Marriage was another value that people doesn t had and they seem it as horrible, for example when John propose Lenina to married him she said, what horrible idea! (174). This shows how the idea of getting married with somebody was seen as something really bad, which for us is beautiful. Also, people were not allowed to feel emotions, because emotions are seen as a risk of loosing stability in their community. If they feel some kind of emotions they have to take soma to forget them. Is like if somebody have to take drugs all the time in order to be happy. In my opinion I prefer to feel emotions even if no all of them are good, instead of being like an object that doesn t feel anything. The price that people paid in order to have a stable community is very high and it doesn t worth it. Values are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Literary Analysis Of The Hunger Games Fighting to the End There is not a single fascinating work of fiction to be found which has no hero to admire. The notion of a hero implies a charismatic, and often selfless person, whose indispensable qualities are determination and fortitude. Having a clear goal, they do everything possible to achieve it. Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist of the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, possesses all the features inherent in a true hero. The narration takes place in a post apocalyptic North America. The nation state of Panem is separated into twelve districts, the thirteenth of which having been destroyed due to the first rebellion against the Capitol. Katniss hails from a poor coal mining District 12, where she lives with her mother and younger sister Prim. The Hunger Games is an event held by the Capitol every year, used as a means to both entertain its citizens and to constantly remind the districts of its immense authoritative power. Two tributes, one boy and one girl, are randomly selected from each district by means of a lottery system on Reaping Day. The games reach its end when a single tribute is still alive and proclaimed the winner. The hero receives a call to adventure when her sister Primrose is initially selected as a tribute. Immediately and without hesitation, Katniss volunteers to take her sister s place, only to realize afterwards what a fierce struggle she is about to undertake with her life on the line. • 5. Essay on Historical Truth Historical Truth Historical Truth? As a child sits through history class in the first grade, he or she learns of the relationship between Christopher Columbus and the Indians. This history lesson tells the children of the dependence each group had on each other. But as the children mature, the relations between the two groups began to change with their age. So the story that the teenagers are told is a gruesome one of savage killings and lying. When the teenagers learn of this, they themselves might want to do research on this subject to find out the truth. But as one searches, one finds the inconsistency between the research books. So the question is, who is telling the truth? Mary Louise Pratt and Jane Tompkins probe these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A contact zone, according to Pratt, is where two cultures meet, clash, and grapple with each other (625). Ethnography is a story where the superior writes about the inferior, while autoethnography is the opposite, telling a story by the inferior about the superior. As the cultures clash, the winner gets to tell the story. The winner is usually the one who has the superior power. Pratt brings up this idea while she discusses two authors: de la Vega and Poma. De la Vega s ethnographic text illustrates the relationship between the Incas and the Spanish during the conquering of the Inca s land. On the other hand, Poma s autoethnographic text on this historical account contains conflicting ideas. But both of these essays are sent to the king of Spain. Which essay is read by the king? For one, it is not Poma s essay since it is [s]uch a text is heterogeneous on the reception end as well as the production end: it will read very differently to people in different positions in the contact zone...it deploys systems of meaning making, the letter necessarily means differently to bilingual Spanish Quechua speakers and to monolingual speakers in either language (536) With such a language barrier between who Poma is trying to make contact with, the Spanish King, allows his letter to be lost. But de la Vega, who is a son of a Spanish official, writes his letter to the King of Spain. De la Vega also spoke Quechua, but his book is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Tragic Hero Of Marcus Junius Brutus Minor Essay Marina Senseney Eng. ll / 4th block October 27, 2015 Tragic hero Marcus Junius Brutus Minor was the son of Marcus Junius Brutus Maior and Servilia Caepionis. His father was killed by Pompey the Great in dubious circumstances after he had taken part in the rebellion of Lepidus; his mother was the half sister of Cato the Younger, and later Julius Caesars mistress. Some sources refer to the possibility of Caesar being his real father, despite Caesar s being only 15 years old when Brutus was born. Brutus uncle, Quintus Servilius Caepio, adopted him in about 59 BC, and Brutus was known officially for a time as Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus before he reverted to using his birth name. Following Caesar s assassination in 44 BC, Brutus revived his adoptive name in order to illustrate his links to another famous tyrannicide, Gaius Servilius Ahala, from whom he was descended. Brutus held his uncle in high regard and his political career started when he became an assistant to Cato, during his governorship of Cyprus. During this time, he enriched himself by lending money at high rates of interest. Brutus was also active in the province of Cilicia, in the year before Cicero was proconsul there; Cicero documents how Brutus profited from moneylending to the provincials in his Letters. He returned to Rome a rich man, where he married Claudia Pulchra. From his first appearance in the Senate, Brutus aligned with the Optimates (the conservative faction) against the First Triumvirate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Nonprofit Theatres Finances A problem with the arts in general, and theatre in specific, is funding and paying for everything that goes into the creation of the art. In the case of other forms of art, visual arts specifically, the artists often invest in the art, first absorbing the costs of material then selling the art for a profit. This is harder in theatre and fine arts where personal budgets are often overwhelmed by the cost of materials, technical instruments, and other costly measures necessary for the show to go on, this, not including the money to keep the lights on and the space open. Regional theatres outnumber what most people consider professional theatre, such as Broadway, and a good percentage of regional theatres are nonprofit. Nonprofit theatres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Branding can draw people in, but can also drive people away, and in order to be successful it must be unified across platforms. Branding for the arts is a bit more difficult than branding for a company. Essentially, the products and the tone of the brand changes with each new season. To accommodate this we must build a brand that both separates us from the competition and allows for flexibility. For example, the Croswell Opera House markets itself as the oldest theatre in Michigan. This is something they have used to create their brand, it separates them from the local competition, but also doesn t pigeonholes them into a certain type of performance. In this way they are both flexible and unique. Theatres help to shape their brand with their performances. By performing a certain type of theatre, whether experimental, Shakespearean, or classical, a theatre can quickly gain a reputation, and a brand. Recently, the push for theatres has been the move to social media. We typically think of regional theatre attendees as being older, and in fact the mean age of theatre goers is 44 years. (Broadway League. 2015) This presents a problem. Unless we engage younger audiences, the current theatre goers will age and we may start to lose our audiences. (Shugoll Research. 2008) So theatres are now looking to branch out and going to where they can reach a younger generation. In addition, our generations have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Affordable Care Act, By President Obama The Affordable Care Act, signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010, fails to reach the intended goal of being more affordable for those in the population who cannot afford health insurance. The Affordable Care Act affects taxes, the out of pocket spending as well as the national debt. Now, considering the word affordable is in the name of the act itself, it is very contradicting that the Affordable Care Act is not very affordable . Affordable has a very different meaning if you were to ask people across the nation. People in Montana for example, the average salary in the state of Montana is $37,575, while in the state of New York, the average salary is $52,330. People in Montana would see $25,000 a lot differently than people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, by forcing everyone to have health insurance, you put an extra burden on employers. Employers not only now have to pay the employees, but they have to provide health insurance. If health insurance is not provided, employers are forced to pay a fine. It should be the individual person s responsibility to pay for themselves to be covered, not the employer s responsibility. The individual mandate is the base of the Affordable Care Act which requires all Americans to obtain health insurance. The fine for not having health insurance would be taken out of your income tax for every month health insurance is not obtained. Sadly, there is only a small window for signing up for this health insurance. There is a certain open enrollment period in which people must sign up by, or they would have to wait until the next period. This means, if a person were to miss the enrollment period, they would have to suffer the fine for the next consecutive months until the next enrollment period. Since 2014, the fee has risen each year. Therefore, Americans who struggle enough to live and couldn t afford the affordable health care would suffer greatly due to the increased fines. An article published by a mix of doctors from across the country shows how these fines are imposed. There are financial penalties in the form of a new tax on individuals who fail to buy health ... • 16. Political Theories And Ideology Of Liberal Democracy Essay Many challenges put a stress on Modern Democracy because of the political theories and ideology our government holds, the current politicians taking office, inequalities throughout social classes and economies, and the opinions of We the People . Nearly every country claims to be some form of a democracy, but not all these self proclaimed democracies allow for free politics, good government, and rule of law (Crick, 2002). Liberal democracyhas begun to win over its royalist, fascist, and collectivist rivals over the course of the last few centuries, and the freedom to vote has been steadily expanded to those who were without it. But the liberal democracies of the world do have problems. Democracy is only as good as its citizens, and the quality of those citizens demands certain constant factors (7 Concerns, 2012). Gerrymandering is the process in which political boundaries are redraw or changed in order to benefit one political party over another one; if one party has power of the state legislature, then they can change political boundaries to maximize their chances of winning congressional districts to win an election. By doing this, unfair and skewed results are produced because redrawn lines can be made to help one party win over the other, since constituents for the losing party will be divided between districts (Tormsen, 2015). This will also allow the winning party to win more electoral votes and seats (Tormsen, 2015). This practice is uniquely American and can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Y Chun has worked to compensate for her feelings of helplessness by striving for competence and perfection. Y Chun is currently juggling a number of tasks in which she is attempting to demonstrate her competence, such as going to school, working, and raising her children, and it is likely that her desire to achieve superiority is contributing to her current symptomology. It is important to recognize, however, that Y Chun s yearning for superiority does not necessarily mean she is striving to be superior to others. In Ancient Egypt plants containing trace concentrations of cyanide have been used as lethal poisons and in World War II HCN was employed with a base to mass exterminate millions of people in Nazi camps. Another historically used method of cyanide poisoningis through gas chambers created by addition of a cyanide salt into an acid to create HCN (g). Although many forms of cyanide exist, the most common is HCN, which naturally is released into the atmosphere from plants, volcanoes and bacteria/fungi. The primary source of cyanide poisoning in humans is through accidental ingestion of plants. More than 2,000 plant species contain cyanogenic glycosides that when ingested can be rapidly hydrolyzed into cyanide. This rapid hydrolysis occurs when cell structure of the plant is disturbed thus plant products that are incorrectly processed may lead to cyanide poisoning. Cyanogenic compounds are present in surprisingly large number of common foods such as sweet potatoes, cassava, bamboo and lima beans1. An area of growing concern is inhalation of tobacco smoke, which is another common source of cyanogenic compounds. Many idiopathic syndromes have been shown to be associated with failure in detoxification mechanisms specifically targeting cyanide compounds2. Symptoms of cyanide poisoning generally mimic those of suffocation or climbing mountains at high ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Creativism a Constant Company of Humans Throughout History As Carl Gustav Jung wisely stated, there is a certain fascination with regard to creativity. Creativity expresses itself in many different forms, shapes, sizes, colours and sounds. It is a concept difficult to grasp as it is broad. However most people would think of themselves as being able to judge who and what is actually creative. But what exactly is creativity? Amible (1983) defines creativity as the production of ideas, insights and also products that are both, original and adaptive. Originality in this context refers to novelty of an idea and adaptation to the appropriateness. This is the definition predominantly used in creativity research (Sternberg Lubart 1999; Simonton Damian,2013) and is therefore used in this paper as well. In historical terms, creativity was a constant accompanist of human kind. We had to change the environment, and invent tools according to our needs in order to survive. Thus, creativity is a universal occurrence in all cultures (Simonton Ting, 2010). However, which idea is assumed to be original and appropriate, so considered to be creative, depends strongly on context and time (Njistad et al., 2010). As stated by Nijstad et al. (2010) the work of Vincent van Gough is a good example of a different perception of creativity in different times. When Van Gough died he was a poor man but his works are sold for millions today. Similar is the example of the French post impressionist artist Paul Gauguin who was not well appreciated until ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Start string the mixture Once final required colour is attained stop cooking and Pour in moulds CARAMEL AND CRYSTALLIZATION When a wet caramel is made, first we make a sugar syrup which is sugar dissolved in water. The water evaporates as heating process continue to make caramel, the syrup becomes super saturated, which means that it holds more sugar molecules than the normal capacity of water. Due to this, the sugar tries to re crystallize. If this happens, final product ends up with a pan full of clear rock candy. In order to avoid this, we have to make sure pan is spotlessly clean. Sugar molecules have jagged edges and can easily stick to each other or to the impurities from the pan. After World War II, the workplace was changed forever because of the new technology which exterminated many jobs, and employees were expected to know more than ever and work very quickly. Those who were old or even middle age started to meet more pressure to leave the workforce entirely, and retire. It was also common for the elderly to be forced out entirely. Older workers who were women or part of minority groups faced particularly daunting odds because they had not one barrier but two in the way of being employed.
