The fugue is often regarded as a genre defined by strict procedural guidelines. It is notable that
three historically important composers, Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 1750), Georg Friedrich
Handel (1685 1759), and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart(1756 1791), all employed a closely related
fugue subject in three different works. An analysis of each of these works individually, and a
comparison of these works collectively reveal numerous latent and salient features, and a
reflection of the composers style within these works. Analyses also provide an outlook into the

explores a new multi sensory method of design for architects in 335 pages. The opening of the
book starts with a question What if we designed for all senses? Very similar to articles from
Pallasmaa, the book leaves the reader wanting to know more about this method although this book
covered many topics and included many references. Malnar is an associate professor at the
University of Illinois, and Vodvarka is an artist who wrote many articles on architectural history.
The book consists of twelve chapters that propose this idea that designers should explore the

As days went by in the concentration camp, many begin to lose their faith in religion just like
Elie. The book, Night is written by Elie Wiesel, a winner of the Nobel Peace prize. In the book
Night, Elie is the main character who is very religious at first. It begins with his family and him
traveling to Auschwitz which his little sister and mother die. With only his father and him, they
went through many hardships and moving from camp to camp. Unfortunately, Elie father did not
survive the Holocaust but Elie did. By the end of the story, Elie did entirely lose his faithin God
because he did not celebrate the important holidays, questioned God and his justice, and tries to
forget his existence.
One way that shows Elie loss of faith in religion is that he refuse to participate and enjoy the
religious holidays. Once a religious Jewish who study the Kabbalah, Elie did not enjoy Rosh
Hashana and pray like the other Jews. He also decided not to fast during Yom Kippur. And then,

Although the Romantic Era s general perspective regarding a woman s sensibility may seem
distasteful to most contemporary readers, the viewpoint was commonplace during the period. To be
clear, this was mainly the assumption that women were dominated by their specially configured and
delicate senses, rather than reason and intellect. Authors like Edmund Burke passively promoted
these fragilities in his verbosely titled piece A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of
the Sublime and Beautiful. While this point of view retained popularity, there were thankfully those
who sought to tear it to shreds. The author Mary Wollstonecraft, widely lauded as the first Feminist
, actively addressed sensibility and more in her political and polemic treatise Vindication of the
Rights of Woman . She cites deprivation of quality education for women, as well as their
condescending treatment in society as reasons for this sort of behavior. But to better understand
why women were seen this way in the first place, it will help to briefly to define what
Romanticism really is, in a cultural and literary context. And while it is no longer as potent as it
once was, the spell which tricks society into believing women are a secondary and frail sex, is one
that still has power today, and it is a spell which should be permanently broken.

cumulative concepts that have been taught throughout this semester of Engineering Statics. It has

design brought to light the zero for members, it was decided that these members should be
removed. In order to combat the flex of such a simple design the decision was made to double
the thickness. This design would have the same outer frame of two triangles with a height of 20

wood be bonded directly together using Gorilla Glue. Balsa wood, a very lightweight wood with
properties similar to a dense foam, was used for the main supporting member. Basswood, a

layer sheet of balsa wood to rear side of the truss. This balsa sheet was added for the purpose of

Abstract: A mechanism of the initiated nonbranched chain process of forming 1,2 alkanediols and
carbonyl compounds in alcohol formaldehyde systems is suggested. The quasi steady state
treatment is used to obtain kinetic equations that can describe the nonmonotonic (with a maximum)
dependences of the formation rates of the products on the concentration of free unsolvated
formaldehyde. The experimental concentration of the free unsolvated form of formaldehyde are
given at the different temperatures, solvent permittivity, and total concentrations of formaldehyde
in water and alcohols.
An empirical equation for calculating the free formaldehyde concentration in alcohol formaldehyde
(including water/ethanediol formaldehyde) systems at various temperatures and total formaldehyde
concentrations and an equation for evaluating solvent concentrations in these systems were derived.

Unlike other subjects like maths, science, Arts and English, the subject was not even tested. We
always thought of it as another boring lesson on computer architecture or Microsoft office.
Meanwhile, an American young called Mark Zikirburg was applying his knowledge of computer
programming to create what has become the largest social media network in the world. A network
that worth more than 100 billion dollar and connecting more than billion people across the globe.
The importance of delivering programming knowledge has been recognised by quite a few
countries worldwide and the United Kingdom could be one of the best examples. In September
2013, some exciting changes were made to the national curriculum. ICT Information and
Communications Technology was out, replaced by a new computer sciencecurriculum including
coding lessons for children as young as five. Also, in the United States, the teaching kids to code
movement has been calling for change in the computing curriculum by putting more emphasis in
the computer programming, and it has received a lot of support from business and non profit
organization and public figures including the American President Barak Obama who gave speech
on 12/8/2013 calling for support from the public for these changes.

When looking at the colonial experience of European countries, Italy stands out as a unique case.
While the major imperial powers were carving up the Americas, Asia, and Africa at the height of
European colonialism, Italy was just beginning to unify into a modern state. By the time that the
Italians had unified and centralized, there were very few territories left that were not under
Spanish, French, or British control. Thus, the Italian expansionists looked to the very few pieces of
Africathat they could seize. This left them with Libya, Eritrea, Somalia, and Ethiopia. What makes
the expansion particularly unique according to Daniela Baratieri is how the Italian people reacted
to it and used it in media. She takes a close look at not just what was said, but also examining the
historic silences, or topics that many Italians tried to ignore and bury. By reading into the pieces of
their past that the Italians of the 20th century tried to obscure, Baratieri shows that sometimes the
most important parts of history are the intentional silences. Baratieri uses a variety of sources to
investigate how different generations of Italians dealt with colonialism. She uses newsreels, films,
illustrated magazines, cartoons, and history books to provide a comprehensive picture of the
