Political. Governments have implicated the car industry in to a socio politic economic corner. This
company is strongly linked to policies of governments by the earnings of banks. Therefore countries
try to develop this industry to rise profits and in develop countries is a gigantic pressure to maintain it.
Likewise Toyota is a company that dominates more than a handful of firms. The company s approach
to dealing with political institutions has not always been brilliant. It tends to be good on technical

Love Of A Mother Essay
A LOVE OF A MOTHER
Mother is the woman who gave birth to you. Mother is the one who knows all about you and Mother
is the one who sacrifice all for you. So all mother in the world should be respected because we all
know that they deserve it and always remember that we are here because of them. Love, respect and
care your mother as you can, Because if you love someone you feel that they are very important to
you and if you respect you have a good opinion of them, and lastly if you care you feel that it is
important and are concerned about it.
She is the first person to sacrifice her life by giving birth to all of us children. She taught us how to
walk, talk and smile. Our first mentor and teacher in helping us determine what is right and wrong.
That is how our mothers are! Some moms, especially in our new generation evolve as the sole
providers of the family. Many are saying that mothers are the emotional backbones of the family. If
problems occur they are the strongest person to hold back and we can ... Show more content on

She is her children s best friend. A mother is someone who loves you unconditionally and more than
life itself. Mothers are angels in disguise sent from God to watch and help us through our troublesome
times. We hardly stop to think of how they feel and if they need help, we abuse them in a sense by not
appreciating them enough. The definition for love is a great liking or affection. But love is something
stronger. Love doesn t give up, doesn t have a swelled head and doesn t force itself on others. Love isn
t jealous, is always forgiving and without love, we are nothing. A mother s love is a bond that connects
us together, even before birth. It is stronger than any feeling of hate or fury. Love takes on everything,
even if it can t carry it all. Mothers may seem just like ordinary people, but they are really super
heroes in disguise! They show their love in a million different ways every

The Dilemma Of Batman
There is a video game called Injustice Gods Among Us where the main plot of the game is based
around the dilemma of is it morally right killing criminals. In the game, the character Joker
manipulates Superman s mind into killing his wife and unborn son by thinking they are one of
Superman s enemies. The Joker also set a nuclear bomb to detonate in Superman s town of Metropolis
when his wife and child die. After the bomb explodes, the Joker is placed into police custody and is
being interrogated by Batman. While being interrogated, Superman comes busting into the jail
wanting to kill the Joker. He and Batman got into an argument based around the fact that they both
had a moral rule that no criminal deserves to die at their hands, including the Joker. Superman states
that the Joker and other likeminded individuals are irredeemable and that their victims deserve justice.
While Batman argues that Superman and other superheroes are not above the law, and that Superman
cannot act as judge, jury, and executioner. The dilemma of the story is based around the question, is it
right to take another s life, no matter how many people an individual has killed? Batman believes that
killing anyone is morally wrong, when Superman believes that killing criminals is morally correct.
Both Consequentialist and Deontologist would view this predicament differently. After the death of his
wife and son, Superman understands why there are people in the world that want to see criminals die.

America And Other Countries Of Similar And Contrasting...
In America and other countries of similar and contrasting cultures, we like to be right, we like to be on
top, and we want to be recognized for both respectively. Competition is an underlying theme in so
much of what we do in our daily lives. Whether it s getting a better grade on a test than your friend,
winning a football game or even speeding up faster than the car next to you when the light turns green.
Competition, whether we like it or not, surrounds us and we participate in it willingly. We all want to
stand on that podium and receive the gold medal, for then we are better than someone else and we can
look down upon him or her because we have achieved something they have not. This competition and
trying to be better than the person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many different factors early in life that instill this superior characteristic of America and its
people.
To start off, education is huge when analyzing ethnocentrism. Throughout my years of social studies
and history classes the textbooks emphasize the victories of America, the times in which people from
the U.S. were heroic and brave and fought in the face of hardship. However, these historical accounts
merely account for a single side of the story when in fact there were many more events to be shared.
The textbooks tilt the perspective of the important events to show the Americans as winners. They do
not show triumphs against the U.S. or times when our people were defeated as much as they do the
victorious moments, for that would display weakness. There is an article in the book that speaks about
this topic specifically. Writing the textbook in an ethnocentric way denies the students the much more
objective chance to learn about other cultures outside of the U.S. (Textbook, pg. 68) This act of
showcasing the successes of America in a way that disregards any other country or culture tells the
reader that America is the best, that we are superior and undefeatable. Emphasizing superiority then in
turn creates an inferiority of others as well. (Textbook, pg. 68) The students, at a very young age are
told that the United States of America is a country that wins. These books are taught

How Chemistry Is Related To The Forensics Of Blood
Many sciences play a key role in looking at the forensics of blood. One of the sciences that relates to
taking a closer look at the blood of a crime scene is chemistry. Without chemistry looking at crime
scenes and key parts of the blood would be almost impossible. Chemistry is used everyday in careers
like forensic scientist and other jobs related to criminal law. If one were ever interested in a career in
criminal law a chemistry class would most likely be required. Chemistry is all around us everyday and
we don t even realize. Chemistry is directly related to the forensics of blood. One way chemistry is
related to the forensics of blood is elements and other chemical components are found in the human
blood. Blood contains a liquid portion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Antibodies and antigens in the blood are looked at to find blood type. Blood also contains proteins
called antigens, but antibodies only attach to foreign antigens (Rohrig 4). Antibodies are proteins in
the human body that keeps us healthy. If they recognize a foreign substance, such as an infection, they
attack it to keep the sickness out. Antibodies are chemical components that make up the blood.
Antibodies are similar to white blood cells, they do the same job but antibodies are a protein. Some
people have only A antigens on their red blood cells some have only B, some have both A and B and
some have none, making these people s blood types A, B, AB, and O (Rohrig 4). Antigens are another
chemical component of the blood that determines a person s blood type. Looking at the blood type and
chemical components of the blood requires chemistry. Chemistry is related to the forensics of blood

Model T Car
If you could imagine design in the future, what would you imagine? A virtual house, flying cars, or
how about holograms. Design is the process to plan or draw the show, look, function or workings of a
building, garment, or other objects before it is built or made. It is twenty seventeen and we have
already begun to see the future. In the past, design was beautiful, but simplistic. Now, everthing is
changing expediently. I speculate that with a touch of your cell phone a house will be produced within
seconds. Which I believe might cause design to become more of a competitive field, filled with
innovators from the future, gives a new meaning to a whole new world. How will building and car
designs be transformed in twenty years you wonder? New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Engineering and design will become more correspondent to one another. We already use engineering
in calculating certain aspects (variables) when creating a new design, but it will officially merge. In
the past, design was done with simple artistic methods such as pencil and paper, but now we have
CAD and many more software programs. New apps will be created, allowing us to do as we please
with such designs. In about twenty years, design will become more evolutionary than ever. From
flying cars to smart houses, 2045 will begin the new destiny of everything revolutionizing. Design is
prevailing with the new technology that we use daily. Designers are always pushing forward with new
ideas, leaving the next group of young innovators to work ten times harder for that next big idea. Ideas
come and goes and so does the brains behind the designs, but one thing is for sure, design will be
bigger than we know

Why Polylactic Acid And Polypropylene
A plastic water bottle must be able to hold it shape, withstand high temperatures, must not absorb the
water or release toxins, should be easy to clean and must be eco friendly. To understand this, it is first
necessary to define polymers, how they are made and the intermolecular forces that lead to polymers
properties. Two polymers, Polylactic acid and polypropylene, will be explained to illustrate the
connection between structure and properties. The differences and similarities will be explained,
followed by the environmental and economic considerations. These factors will be used to show why
Polylactic acid is preferable to other polymers for the production of water bottle.
A polymer is a long chain of molecules made up of many repeating identical units called monomers. A
polymer made from two or more repeating units of monomers are called copolymers (Smith et al.,
2006). Monomers are often made up of Hydrogen and Carbon with extra elements such as Oxygen,
Nitrogen and Chlorine, creating the backbone of the polymer. These can be made synthetically, such
as polyethylene or occur naturally like cellulose, as are the polymers being investigated are. Polylactic
acid is made naturally and Polypropylene is made synthetically. Polymers can be three dimensional
networks which don t melt such as epoxy resin, and are called thermoset polymers, two dimensional
or one dimensional networks or chains which can be melted such as polypropylene called
thermoplastic polymers

The Industrial Age In Upton Sinclair s The Jungle
From 1865 to 1910, the Industrial Age was an interesting time of great economic growth and
prosperity for the United States as a whole, however the American citizens who worked to push this
positive chain of success paved the way and paid the cost for that very occurrence. In The Jungle, a
family from Lithuania travels to the United States in order to gain a better living than what they had in
their home country. During their time of adjustment to life within the United States, some members of
the Rudkus and Lukoszaite family especially Jurgis Rudkus, experienced extreme hardship while
attempting to develop their lives into a better state for the sake of their family s wellbeing. Upton
Sinclair opens a small window into the lives of hopeful and hardworking immigrants to reveal how
America s Industrialization Age hindered many from true freedom. This was due to a lack of care for
employees and their wellbeing in the workplace, poor sanitary conditions that led to unhealthy living
conditions for workers, and political corruption which was held over certain citizens in order to allow
corruption to thrive, making workers remain powerless. Industrialization called for the opening of
many different factories for increased economic boom within America. These factories allowed
strenuous jobs to men and children for poor pay. The Jungle closely follows Jurgis during his time as a
floor cleaner whose job it is to remove cattle remains following their death. In one example, Jurgis

Essay on Ethical Issues with Social Media
Current Ethical Issues with Social Media
People are increasingly sharing their lives online through social networking sites with little concern
for who may be viewing their information. This has become an issue in current times and is up for
debate based on the ethical issues associated with Social Media. People don t realize joining a social
network is like joining a community. As any community in real life, your business has a place in the
community but should not invade one s privacy. Social networking is one of the most popular methods
apart from forum marketing that is available to Internet users today. Places like MySpace and

There is no legitimate appeal beyond them. That which produces the greatest amount of happiness is
morally obligatory and nothing else.
Legal Perspective
In fact, the principle applies not only to morals but also to legislation. The purpose of laws is to
maximize the total happiness of the community. Most ethics questions about the use of technology can
be adequately answered by existing ethics rules without regard to medium or application.
On a more fundamental level, most of the ethical pitfalls related to social networking can be prevented
by a little forethought and exercise of common sense, without regard to ethics rules. The qualities of
social networking which are so potentially problematic for lawyers are its immediacy, its accessibility,
and its permanency. As a result, like all users of social media, lawyers can react to a situation
instantaneously and publicly, with an online posting that will remain on the internet in some form
forever. Instead of sober reflection, social media encourages a reactionary and emotional post. Instead
of one on one communication with a colleague or friend, social media encourages a broadcast to an
expansive audience. Instead of ethereal and temporary communication, social media encourages an
indelible post. You can get yourself into serious trouble by tweeting an emotional reaction to a judge s
adverse ruling from your iPhone as you are walking out of the courthouse, instead of

In The Past, Gender Roles Specialization As So Pronounced
In the past, gender roles specialization as so pronounced that females and males had very different
roles and responsibilities assigned to them. In most of the cultures, men were the breadwinners while
women were house managers and assuming the roles of caregivers. However, in the contemporary
world, material foundations linked to gender role specialization have weakened with the caretaking
work that was used to define females disappearing. Nevertheless, studying gender role specialization
from a sociological viewpoint, it is evident that gender norms are still in existence. This can be
explained using the study by Parsons and Bales on the contribution of the family structure in socio
economic context. According to Parsons and Bales, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of industrialization and modernization, the American society is shaped with changes
evidenced in the family unit. For instance, today s families are nuclear and thus separated from their
extended kin. Today s typical American family consists of a husband, a wife, and the dependent
children (Schulte 17). Based on the explanation given by Parsons and Bales, a nuclear family as a
functioning system depends and requires successful performance of roles and equilibrium. This is
extended further by Hochschild who argues that the major roles in today s nuclear family are provision
of income, creating and maintaining relationships with family and friends, caring for the children,
socializing children, cleaning the house, disciplining the children, and preparing food (91). However,
while Parsons and Bales divide gender roles into instrumental and expressive ones, this difference is
not noted in the current society in which any of the gender can perform any role to ensure equilibrium
and sustainability of the current nuclear family unit.
In the traditional gender role division explained by Parsons and Bales, the roles by men and women in
the family are separated. Using the classical sociological view, even though men perform caregiving
roles, these are instrumental and managerial in nature. In order to care for their families, the role of
men is instrumental as they work in their careers to

Comparison of The Red Room, The Signalman and The Ostler
A gothic story is a type of romantic fiction that existed in English Literature in the last third of the
18th century and the first two decades of the 19th century, the setting for which was usually a ruined

The World Of The Aztec Empire
How was Cortes with 508 soldiers able to conquer the Aztec Empire with millions of peoples inside its
borders? Cortes was able to conquer the Aztec people for several different reasons. The Aztecs had a
very harsh tribute system that was not popular among the other peoples of Mexico. This ferocious
tribute system allowed Cortes to act as a liberator of some sort. Additionally, with the Spanish came
several diseases the Aztec peoples had never encountered. The spread of diseases such as small pox
and many others drastically reduced the Aztec population and sped up Cortes cause. Malintzin, a tribal

allowed him to appear as a liberator of the tyranny of the Aztec rule.
Secondly, a relatively minor cause for Cortes success was the issue of disease among the Aztecs.
Although this was a fairly feeble reason it actually greatly benefited the Spanish in reducing the Aztec
population. The Spanish brought smallpox to Mexico, said to be linked to an infected slave arriving
from Spanish Cuba, which caused great suffering to the Aztecs. The Spanish were immune to the
disease so it posed no threat to Cortes own men. The Aztecs were demoralized by the mysterious
illness that killed Indians and spared Spaniards, as if advertising the Spaniards invincibility. One
negative aspect for Cortes however was that his Indian allies suffered from the disease

Huey P. Long s Speech
Huey P. Long s speech was judged based on his practices as a Louisiana senator and governor,
however it had the potential to be so much more had he lived to continue his legacy. People appeared
to be afraid of how Governor Long operated within the legislative system of Louisiana because of the
fact that, he tended to find his way around legal statutes that hindered his agenda. Some could argue
that he stepped out of the bounds of power that reigns in a representative of a democratic nation,
however he wound up being one of the most effective public servants in the country. Amidst the Great
Depression, Governor Long gave Louisiana s economy a huge lift with the vast construction of
bridges, schools, and roads. In fact the state of Louisiana has not had anything close to such an
economic boost as to what Huey p. Long offered since that time. As time has passed, Louisiana has
become infamous for its lack of proper public education, especially regarding grades one through
twelve. This lack of proper education has become constantly associated with the state since Huey
Long s assassination. Despite the controversy over how Long executed his political agenda, it cannot
be refuted on how productive and beneficial his reign was for the state.
For instance, in Huey P Long s speech directed towards the entirety of the United State s population
vied for the spread of wealth around the country. Initially he proclaimed how absurd it was that nearly

Why Did the 1905 Revolution Fail
Why did the 1905 revolution fail?
One of the main reasons that the 1905 revolution failed was because the October Manifesto merely
only satisfied the middle classes appetite for reform. However this was only a short term change in
government therefore it was not really a revolution because the changes were not permanent. To add,
the readiness of the liberals to accept the government s political and economical bribes indicted that
they were not genuinely ready for a revolution at this time. Furthermore the duma did not have as
much power as the tsar portrayed them to have. They were not able to pass laws and did not have any
control on the state s finance. To add, another reason why the 1905 revolution failed was because after

none of these protest had a great enough impact to cause reform. Furthermore the army stayed loyal to
the tsar, crushing revolutionary disturbances and arresting thousands of revolutionaries.
This shows why the 1905 revolution failed because the tsar managed to keep its power even in great
times of opposition because of its alliances with the

The Importance Of Restorative Justice
Last year in Chicago, there were nearly 800 homicides that took place throughout the city and that is
just Chicago alone! Imagine what the numbers would be like if you added up all the homicides that
took place in each state throughout the United States. It would be outrageous and that would only be
for our 50 states, it does not include other countries around our world. Crime rates are skyrocketing
and something needs to be done. For some of these offenders, receiving a harsh punishment and being
put in jail makes them realize what they have done and makes them want to better themselves once
they get out. On the other hand, other offenders serve their time, get released, and go right back to
their old ways, the ways that put them in jail in the first place. Punishment does not seem to work for
everyone; therefore a new approach must be put into action, this approach being restorative justice.
Restorative justice is a groundbreaking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Restorative justice can take place in places such as police stations, courtrooms, and prisons. Many of
the restorative justice programs take place in prisons because it relates to the victim offender
relationship. I believe a good place for restorative justice within the criminal justice system is in
prisons because the prisoners have nothing else to do so it is a good time for them to focus on that
practice and keep busy because there is much time to be dedicated to mending their offender (RJ in the
Criminal Justice System). But an even better process for restorative practice would be outside of the
criminal justice system in places such as schools, workplaces, faith communities, families, and
communities. Being somewhere outside of the criminal justice system gives the victim and offender
more privacy and makes them feel more comfortable which can help a lot when expressing and coping

Another reason I should be chosen as a staff member is because of how active I am on the forums and

Analysis Essay
Back in the days, the job you get mostly depends on what family you are born into. For example
during Rocket Boys by Homer H. Hickam Jr, the setting takes place in Coalwood West Virginia where
Sonny is expected to be a miner when he grows up because everyone in Coalwood and his father s
side has a job that does something the mines. However, when his mom tells him to get out of
Coalwood Sonny decides to become a rocket scientist against his father s desires, this results in his
dad being disappointed in him. Pushing this aside as if it didn t matter at all though Sonny continues
his journey to change Coalwood forever while on the way making his dad see that he is worth more
than being a miner when he got out of his high school years.
Even though all the people in Coalwood are miners, Sonny decides to be a different person so he
decides that he and his groups of friends will build rockets. When he does this it makes his dad upset
with him, and even tried to make him stop by dumping his chemicals. All this did for Sonny was make
his even more determined to build and launch rockets. His first three rockets were good but then that
fourth one when into the mine. Looks like your son wants to be a rocket scientist. He doesn t know
what he wants to be, but I do know what he is Dad said pg 94 The thing that this quote really tells is
that this action makes his dad upset. If it just ended here the rest of the story would be the same. I
would be a very boring memoir of how he gave up and became a miner. Yet I can tell you that this
didn t happen. Instead, Sonny kept on launching and making rockets while his dad became more and
more upset. When Sonny kept on not giving up it lead him to win the national science fair, and this
finally made his dad proud of him. He achieved by being what he wants, and not letting people stop
him.
Determined to prove that he can do better than what his dad says about him leads him on a big journey
of scary, and dangerous things as he does his rocket activities. Earlier that day he saw Sputnik, and
this made him interested in rockets. When he made his first rocket he knew it would be dangerous. In

Advertising Effects Of The Counter And Prescription Drug...
Advertising Effects of Over the Counter and Prescription drug on Consumer Purchasing Habits
By Celise Blackman
Mass Communications Research
Professor Roman
Introduction
This study looks at how prescription drugs (Rx) and over the counter drugs (OTC) are advertised and
how that potentially effects buying habits of consumers. There have been studies on this in the past but
researchers failed to consider important factors such as age, exposure to advertising, health conditions
of their audience. Results of this study could allow advertisers to consider our findings when
producing advertisements. Consumers who see this study may also choose to do their own research on
the Rx or OTC they consider purchasing. Also, medical professionals that have the authority to write
Rx for their patients would be better informed of how the advertisements are perceived, causing them
to present these drugs more or less. Now, this could negatively affect the pharmaceutical drug industry
financially if doctors stop using their advertisements. However, that is not our goal in this study, just
mearly a side effect.
Literary Review
Studies have shown that advertisements for prescription drugs (Rx) and over the counter drugs (OTC)
can be perceived differently depending on the audience. Furthermore, according to Alperstein (2014),
in relation to Rx drugs,
Pharmaceutical marketers historically avoided advertising directly to young adults, and by agreement

Two critical technological functions will separate the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle s architectures in the

to say our condition would be worst but forward progress would be hampered. Recommendations The

Theme Of Maturity In The Princess Bride
In the fantasy romance novel, The Princess Bride, by William Goldman, Buttercup suffers through
many harrowing experiences. From presumably losing her one true love, almost being forced to marry
a man she didn t love, to being kidnapped and almost murdered. Through these experiences over the
course of The Princess Bride, Buttercup was forced to mature greatly.
In the beginning of The Princess Bride novel, the beautiful advancement of Buttercup and Westley s
love story comes to its presumed ending mere pages after its unfolding. After Buttercup hears of
Westley s presumed death, she locks herself away in her room for days, eating very little. This point in
the book is arguably the biggest changing point in Buttercups maturity. In the book, it states that The
woman who emerged was a trifle thinner, a great deal wiser, an ocean sadder (Goldman 69). After
Buttercup believes Westley is dead, it is almost as though she becomes more sophisticated. It is
obvious that she has matured by the way she acts. She is no longer the feisty teenager who refuses to
even wash behind her ears, she becomes a woman who understands the world a bit better and sees it as
a bit darker. Buttercup learns to take care of herself and the book states that, She was 18. She was the
most beautiful woman in a hundred years. She didn t seem to care (69). In the movie, the narrator
states that Buttercups emptiness consumed her (The Princess Bride). She becomes almost cold and
indifferent, most likely

George Isaac Whitlatch did extensive work to find resources in TN. He published a few books
regardiing the economic values of and where natural resources exist in TN. One of his first works was
THE CLAYS OF WEST TN, and the importance of such minerals. In the 1820 s in America clays
were used by pioneers to build homes, as well good for domestic wares and bricks. In the 1874 book
Killebrew and Safford Potteries (1874), it s mentioned that many rich beds of potters clay of the finest
quality exist in Henry Co., Tennessee. The father of the clay mining industry in west tn was Isadore
Mandle, responsible for ball clay mining in Henry County, where 125 train cars per month were
exported in 1897.
Prior to WWI, the bulk of the clays came from Europe. In the late 1930 s this started to change, and
west TN and western KY mines accounted for more than 80 percent of the ball clay used in the United

Summary Of Blake s Innocent Chimney Sweeper
The way in which both poems are structured is also important in understanding the relationship
between innocence and experience. As one becomes less ignorant towards the suffrage around them,
they become bitter towards their own society, which is clearly reflected in the structure of the poems.
Blake s Innocent Chimney Sweeper is perfectly symmetrical, consisting of six stanzas, each
containing four lines of four beats. This gives the poem a song like quality, which is effective in
highlighting the sadness of the subject matter. Child labour is not a joyful subject matter and should
not be associated with upbeat songs. It can be argued that Blake structures the poem in this way to
illustrate that the narrator uses song to cope through his intensive labour, for it is the only part of his
childhood that he can still cling to. This also contributes towards showing how young the children are,
because the lyrical quality and the positive tone used throughout the poem reflects the youthfulness of
the narrator. The contrast between the sound of the poem and its content highlights the narrator s way
of trying to preserve his own innocence. This contrast is also effective in showing that Tom Darce is
ignorant, and therefore, still innocent towards suffrage because he uses songs and daydreams to mask
his painful reality, illustrated when he envisions running down a green plain, leaping, laughing. As the
poem progresses, the rhymes eventually become less regular, which ruins the

Johnny Tremain Character Analysis
Throughout the novel Johnny Tremain, the author, Esther Forbes, displays the universal concepts of
growing up and changing. When the story began, the protagonist, Johnny Tremain, was a fourteen
year old boy. At the end of the novel, Johnny emerges as a sixteen year old man, unrecognizable from
his younger self, due to carrying characteristics that contrast the traits of the young boy he once was.
As Johnny aged in the story, he underwent immense changes. Johnny had changed by gaining the
knowledge of how to make good choices, obtaining a better comprehension on things in life, and
learning to value certain items or deeds in life. During the time when one is maturing, it is common
that one will discover how to act wisely and behave properly. When Johnny was growing up, he
learned to think before he speaks. Formerly, Johnny would attack someone verbally if they infuriated
him. For instance, he acted out of anger and called Merchant Lyte a gallows bird when the merchant
took his cup. As Johnny matured, he eventually rid himself of his proclivity for verbal attacking those
who anger him and started to take his words into consideration before saying them. Johnny found this
method to be rewarding when the slave of Sam Adams soaked him with dishwater and he waited
before speaking. Because Johnny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of The Sea Otters
Did you know that the endangerment or eventual extinction of a species affects other animal
extinction and eventually affects human well being? One such species is the sea otter. The sea otter
has an important role in the ecological preservation of pacific kelp forests.
Sea Otters contribute towards the overall health and well being of the ecosystem they inhabit. The sea
otter is an important predator in the nearshore marine ecosystem of the North Pacific Ocean. It is
considered a keystone species in the ecosystem. They limit the prey populations of a variety of marine
invertebrates that reside near the shore. Sea otters have large scale community effects disproportionate
to their abundance. (Carswell and Long, 2). Their main prey consists of sea urchins and abalone. Sea
urchins and abalone devour the kelp forests that run along the coasts of California. Sea otters
contribute to kelp production by eating these invertebrates, thus where there are sea otters, kelp forests
spread along the continental shelf. The California kelp forests have the greatest biodiversity of the
temperate latitudes (Recarte) Kelp forests are the Ocean s rainforest (Recarte). Sea Otters are
considered a sentinel species, which means their fitness reveals the health of the ecosystem.
Contaminants in the ocean have a large effect on Sea Otters. These contaminants cause
biomagnification because of the lack of enzymes to break down and expel the toxins. Examples of
contaminants that affect Sea

How Does Jem Mature In To Kill A Mockingbird
Before coming into the world, butterflies are secured in their safe cocoon, forced to be exposed to the
life that surrounds them. They start off as caterpillars, not aware of the horrors of the world that are
awaiting them when they make that final transformation. The butterfly s cocoon is the last barrier and
once it s shattered, the butterfly immediately starts making decisions and modifications based on this
newfound society. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, this process is revealed in the children of
Maycomb, Jem, Scout, and Dill, when they discover the unjust ways of their society. Overall, Lee
successfully demonstrates how children lose innocence and start to grow up because of influences
coming from their environment.

Connell (1995) developed this concept to describe how masculinities are always relational and, thus,

Seahorse Research Paper
Did you know that seahorses are the only members of the Hippocampus species? The name
Hippocampus is Greek, it means Horse Sea Monster. There are thirty four different species of
seahorses. Many people are surprised when they find out that seahorses are a type of fish. They have
fins and gills, the defining features of a fish. When seahorses are in a group they are called a herd, just
like horses. Seahorses usually live one to five years, but they are becoming endangered because their
habitat is slowly being destroyed. Seahorses can be as small as one inch long and as tall as twelve
inches long! (Trisha Shaskan, page 23) Seahorses are not alone though, the Syngnathidae family also
includes pipefish and seadragons. Syngnathidae means fused jaw. Pipefish are very similar to
seahorses, but there are also differences. For example they look a little different, their necks are not
bent, and they are very long and thin. Only a few male pipefish have pouches to hold babies like male
seahorses. The rest attach the eggs to their stomach or tuck them in folds in their skin. Sea dragons ...

important to recognize that suffering is an unavoidable result of changes in life. Anything that brings
joy must end at some time and that ending will inevitably bring pain. Suffering can be sorted into
three categories: Duhkha duhkha, vipariṇāma duḥkha, and saṃskāraduḥkha. Duhkha duhkha is about
physical suffering such as sickness, injury, death, etc. These are the pains that Buddha first saw when
he left his palace, before seeking enlightenment. Vipariṇāma duḥkha refers to the suffering that results
in change. Since the world is constantly changing, one can never be certain as to their happiness for
the next day, and the day after that. This uncertainty of happiness is an absence of pleasure in and of
itself. Saṃskāraduḥkha, in common terms, can be summed up as all good things come to an end .
Everything that is or has been has an end. Everything must return to the various states it was before it
was formed. For example, no matter what sort of life a human being experienced, in the end all
humans face death and the bodies disassemble into the various components it is made of. The body
decays and breaks down into the materials that form it such as carbon, minerals, and vitamins.

Canada And The Twentieth Century
Former prime minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, believed greatly in what he thought Canada was to
become. The nineteenth century was the century of the United States. I think that we can claim that is
it Canada that shall fill the twentieth century. was said by Laurier and his words passed almost without
notice at the time. However, it did not take long before his words had somehow been transformed into
the most famous phrase in Canadian history, The twentieth century belongs to Canada. His words
showed great confidence and pride in the actions that Canada was supposedly to take to fulfill his
vision. He believed that Canada would fill the century, not in size or military might but in progress,
growth, and quality of life. Ultimately, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way the government of Canada handled the issues of the First Nations, effectively demonstrated
the fact that the government regarded the immediate problems of the First Nations as a matter of
indifference. The efforts of Canada persistently indicated that unless the First Nations held any benefit
to the expansion of the economical, political or social aspects of their government, they would be
overlooked merely because of their cultural origins.
Often times, when it came to the discussion on equality within Canada, the actions of Canada were
compared to those of the United States, and often times, a comment is made stating that the United
States could learn from Canada s example when it came to racial harmony. However, this idea was
often criticized as the racial problems within Canada were just as severe. The respect and the
livelihood of the First Nation were violated for years even before the start of the twentieth century.
However, the issues of the First Nations were hardly ever brought to light by other Canadians because
these issues were often hidden deep within the reserves that these First Nations were forced into. From
taking their land away to disregarding their cultures, the government rarely ever acknowledged the
needs of the First Nations until they could no longer be ignored. The government continuously
stressed assimilation, especially with the Indian Act , and expected the First Nations

Essay On I Am Legend By Richard Matheson
In I am Legend, Richard Matheson depicted Robert Neville as another man in another life before the
plague broke out. He was a father and a husband. Your average joe working a blue collar job in the
1950 s, facts of life that change for him once the plague took hold of humanity. He created a safe
guarded sanctuary for himself within his own home fortified by garlic and crosses from the vampires
who dominated the fallen world outside. Solitude was his only companion. Society provided Neville
with support, structure, morals, and a community. With the fall of society, Neville priorities had
changed. He had changed. Whilst the novel appears to focus heavily on alienation, Matheson perhaps
also meant to depict another underlying plot theme. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Ruth questions him as to why he kill, he responds with: Only to to survive. (Matheson 166). An
iconic lone ranger, refusing to surrender to a greater power comes into mind, an image created by
culture, of a hero. Due to Neville s perspective, people want to identify with heroes like Neville and
oppose villains like the vampires or the Soviet Union. Cohen argued, monsters have the ability to
illuminate the secrets of the era. Monsters may have the ability to shed light on secrets of the era.
Throughout many instances in history, both sides of war believe they are right. Both sides ultimately
demonize one another. However, history is ultimately written by its victor, as one side will eventually
win. Only one will go on to tell the story to the world. The plague had devastated the human
population and the vampires overrun the world now. Robert Neville, being on the other side of this
war, had lost. As the by product of this new world, he challenged the vampires views. In Cohen s first
thesis, the monsters are said to be born out of a particular time, a feeling, and a place and exist as pure
culture . The monsters, being a product of its time, represent the views of the people of that era, but
they can also challenge the public s view. Robert was their monster. He served to reinterpret parts of
this new society. The monsters and the views they represent linger in the mind of their creators and

Universal Truth Of Conflict In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Conflict plays a large role in our daily lives. In William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet there are
five universal truths. These truths are conflict, love, communication, timing, and reputation. Conflict
is the most important truth focused on in Romeo and Juliet. Act three emphasizes conflict more so
than any of the other acts. Shakespeare conveyed the truth of conflict in Romeo and Juliet to reveal the
impact conflict has in daily life. The role conflict plays in daily life is revealed through Mercutio being
killed, Tybalt being killed in retribution, and the essay by Romeo and Juliet has a central focus on
conflict. The whole play is centered around two feuding families in the city of Verona. These families
are feuding due to each one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Thematic Framework of Romeo and Juliet then focuses on the various aspects about that
complexity, including conflict. Complexity, however, does not lead to conflict. Complexity is conflict.
Without conflict, nothing would be complex because complexity requires different options that are not
easily chosen between, or other types of problems. Bowling wrote, This theme often comes out in the
form of paradox, since the characters are constantly being shocked and surprised that one quality of a
thing is often in sharp disagreement with some other quality (Bowling). Bowling agrees with the
analysis of Romeo and Juliet having a central focus on conflict. Throughout the play there are
conflicting meanings often confuse the reader as well as the characters. These paradoxes are included
to show the profound effect of conflict within communication. Without conflict, which is a
disagreement between people or options, there would be no complexity. The Thematic Framework of
Romeo and Juliet continues to focus on the complexity of the word choice in Romeo and Juliet. There
are conflicting meanings within Romeo and Juliet that lead to confusion between characters, leading
to the overall conflict between the Montagues and Capulets. Conflict is this shown to act as a catalyst
in daily life through these

Greeting Card Industry Market Analysis
Birthdays, holidays, congratulations, thank you, weddings, sympathy, get well soon, or simply no
reason at all. These are just a few of the multitudes of reasons and occasions for which one might
decide to send a greeting card. The average person in the United States will receive 20 greeting cards
per year, one third of which are birthday related greetings (GCA). The American greeting card
industry has been in existence since the late 1800 s and has involved into a highly profitable sector of
the retail sales world consisting of countless competitors both big and small. As a whole, the United
States card market is a $7.5 billion industry that has unfortunately seen flat to slightly declining
growth over the past five years (USA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Competitor Analysis Competition within the US Greeting Card Publishing Market is great. The two
major companies in the market are Hallmark, the largest privately held company, and American
Greetings, the largest publicly held company ( Greeting cards (SIC 2771) ). Smaller companies
include CSS Industries Inc, Healthy Planet Products, Paraiso Publishers, Inc, Sellers Publishers, Inc,
and a large number of privately held publishers. The Greeting Card Association states that there are
over 3000 Greeting Card Publishers in the United States ( The Greeting Card: General Facts ).
E Greeting companies/ websites are among the largest indirect competition for the Greeting Card
Publishing Market. Companies like Blue Mountain Arts launched websites to offer convenience for
people who wanted the convenience of sending a greeting to people through the internet. While e
greetings are popular and convenient, websites now offer free e greetings, leading to many founders of
this industry to fold. Many of the greeting card publishers responded by adding e greetings to their
corporate websites. Florists are also indirect competition for greeting card publishers. The tradition of
giving flowers for special occasions was established long before the mass publishing of greeting cards
evolved. Off shoots of the floral industry that also compete with Greeting cards are Cookie and Edible
Bouquet companies and Candy companies. The craft industry is also an

Marijuana Legalization Research Paper
Should Marijuana be legalized in the U.S.? Grass, skunk, kush, mary jane, chronic: just a few of the
slang terms for Marijuana. Marijuana (of Indian origin) is the brown, green and gray assimilation of
dried leaves, seeds, and stems. This plant is the most commonly abused illicit drug in the United
States of America, and the third most used recreational drug behind only tobacco and alcohol. It has
been used by nearly 100 million Americans. According to government surveys, some 25 million
Americans have smoked marijuana in the past year, and more than 14 million do so regularly despite
harsh laws against its use ( Medical Marijuana ).
The drug comes from the Hemp plant (Cannabis Sativa), which contains hundreds of compounds, the

The locals claimed that the marijuana incited Mexican immigrants to violent crimes, aroused a lust for
blood and generated superhuman strength. (Berger 23). These statements stemmed more from the
racist ideas of the time than from actual fact. There were similar headlines all over the country with
subtitles such as MARIJUANA MAKES FIENDS OF BOYS IN 30 DAYS; HASHISH GOADS
USERS TO BLOOD LUST. ( Use of Marijuana Spreading in West ). Because of these headlines
(mainly fueled by racism), Marijuana has never been able to drop the horrible image, in part because
politicians continue to press these opinions in the media today. The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 made
possession or transfer of cannabis illegal throughout the United States under federal law, excluding
medical and industrial uses. ( Medical Marijuana )
In the country s more recent history, known politicians have stepped to the podium and dealt with
Marijuana. During the Kennedy administration in the 1960 s, Vietnam was a major issue, and the
public, especially college students, turned to marijuana to rebel. As this happened,
Hawkins 4 enforcement lessened. Courts dismissed marijuana charges or imposed only modest fines.
(Berger 34) In 1960, there were only 169 marijuana related convictions in the entire United States.
During this time, marijuana was seen more as an escape and protest. Crime rates did not rise, and no
major health problems had appeared to be caused by the drug. The 1962 White

The Three Messages from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are...
Throughout my high school career, I ve never worked with anything that has made me think so much.
Sure, you can watch the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead at face value, have a few laughs
until it stops being funny, and then go on with your life. But you aren t getting out of it all that Tom
Stoppard intended. This play is so much more than just an accompanying work to Hamlet. It fleshes
out the characters of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in a way that makes you consider your own life!
And if you really want to take anything from this play, you need to understand the messages it
contains. This is a challenge to some, because of how deeply they contrast with the play at face value.
But, if you can look deeper, you will a couple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are incredibly indecisive, and they just get dragged away by the
currents on the river of life. They are always being told what to do and where to go, and they never
question it. They never stop and think, maybe, we don t have to do this. Unfortunately, they don t
notice this until too late. Once they knew they were doomed, Guildenstern reminisces that at some
point, there had to have been a time where they could have said no; where they could have stopped all
of this from happening. It didn t matter anymore though. They were done. This play is saying that
people need to take charge of their lives, and make their own decisions. Don t just let life pass you by.
Lastly, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead teaches the message of knowing your identity. What
were Rosencrantz and Guildenstern missing, above all else? It s not remembering the past; they could
have just worried about the future. It s not decision making; they could have gotten along fine just
following someone else s lead. It works for most people. What they were really missing was their
identities. Neither Rosencrantz nor Guildenstern had fully developed a sense of self. Neither really did
anything that made them distinct from the other. In essence, they were the same, and interchangeable.
This was made clear throughout the duration of the play, because of several small details. When the
two were greeted by people, they often got their names confused. The

Usefulness of Spreadsheet Modeling in Financial Accounting...
21st century is the century of technology, and spreadsheet is one of the great technological inventions
that greatly improve working efficiency. Spreadsheet is a computer application with functions that can
improve the user s productivity in collecting, analyzing, and sharing tabular data sets. It displays
multiple cells usually in a two dimensional matrix or grid making up of rows and columns. Each cell
contains alphanumeric text, numeric values, or formulas (Wikipedia, 2011). Bagranoff (2010) thought
spreadsheet allows users to make complex calculations automatically and to change single number and
update all related numbers at the click of a mouse. As one of the most popular financial software,
spreadsheet is widely applied in areas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is widely agreed that problems with information security and managerial control over spreadsheet
accuracy stem from the inherent nature of spreadsheet software. The first problem is the difference
between making a spreadsheet simply appear on the display screen and constructing a well designed
spreadsheet characterized by integrity and build in controls. This is particularly troublesome since
once they are set up, spreadsheets may be used for an extended period of time and are often copied
and distributed to others. If errors have been programmed into the spreadsheet s original version, they
will affect the spreadsheet s output forever and be replicated and compounded each time the
spreadsheet is reproduced (Busbin et al, 1990). Secondly, because spreadsheet software allows
convenient alteration of value and design, without built in controls subsequent users may alter
spreadsheet structure and thereby unknowingly compromise the integrity of the original design, and at
the worst, could be flawed final decision making due to a reliance upon erroneous information
(Busbin et al, 1990). Moreover, relationships among financial accounts, informational reliability risks,
and the existence

There are many different factors early in life that instill this superior characteristic of America and its people. To start off, education is huge when analyzing ethnocentrism. Throughout my years of social studies and history classes the textbooks emphasize the victories of America, the times in which people from the U.S. were heroic and brave and fought in the face of hardship. However, these historical accounts merely account for a single side of the story when in fact there were many more events to be shared. The textbooks tilt the perspective of the important events to show the Americans as winners. They do not show triumphs against the U.S. or times when our people were defeated as much as they do the victorious moments, for that would display weakness. There is an article in the book that speaks about this topic specifically. Writing the textbook in an ethnocentric way denies the students the much more objective chance to learn about other cultures outside of the U.S. (Textbook, pg. 68) This act of showcasing the successes of America in a way that disregards any other country or culture tells the reader that America is the best, that we are superior and undefeatable. Emphasizing superiority then in turn creates an inferiority of others as well. (Textbook, pg. 68) The students, at a very young age are told that the United States of America is a country that wins. • 9. Why Polylactic Acid And Polypropylene A plastic water bottle must be able to hold it shape, withstand high temperatures, must not absorb the water or release toxins, should be easy to clean and must be eco friendly. To understand this, it is first necessary to define polymers, how they are made and the intermolecular forces that lead to polymers properties. Two polymers, Polylactic acid and polypropylene, will be explained to illustrate the connection between structure and properties. The differences and similarities will be explained, followed by the environmental and economic considerations. These factors will be used to show why Polylactic acid is preferable to other polymers for the production of water bottle. A polymer is a long chain of molecules made up of many repeating identical units called monomers. A polymer made from two or more repeating units of monomers are called copolymers (Smith et al., 2006). Monomers are often made up of Hydrogen and Carbon with extra elements such as Oxygen, Nitrogen and Chlorine, creating the backbone of the polymer. These can be made synthetically, such as polyethylene or occur naturally like cellulose, as are the polymers being investigated are. Polylactic acid is made naturally and Polypropylene is made synthetically. Polymers can be three dimensional networks which don t melt such as epoxy resin, and are called thermoset polymers, two dimensional or one dimensional networks or chains which can be melted such as polypropylene called thermoplastic polymers ... • 11. The Industrial Age In Upton Sinclair s The Jungle From 1865 to 1910, the Industrial Age was an interesting time of great economic growth and prosperity for the United States as a whole, however the American citizens who worked to push this positive chain of success paved the way and paid the cost for that very occurrence. In The Jungle, a family from Lithuania travels to the United States in order to gain a better living than what they had in their home country. During their time of adjustment to life within the United States, some members of the Rudkus and Lukoszaite family especially Jurgis Rudkus, experienced extreme hardship while attempting to develop their lives into a better state for the sake of their family s wellbeing. Upton Sinclair opens a small window into the lives of hopeful and hardworking immigrants to reveal how America s Industrialization Age hindered many from true freedom. This was due to a lack of care for employees and their wellbeing in the workplace, poor sanitary conditions that led to unhealthy living conditions for workers, and political corruption which was held over certain citizens in order to allow corruption to thrive, making workers remain powerless. Industrialization called for the opening of many different factories for increased economic boom within America. These factories allowed strenuous jobs to men and children for poor pay. The Jungle closely follows Jurgis during his time as a floor cleaner whose job it is to remove cattle remains following their death. In one example, Jurgis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On a more fundamental level, most of the ethical pitfalls related to social networking can be prevented by a little forethought and exercise of common sense, without regard to ethics rules. However, in the contemporary world, material foundations linked to gender role specialization have weakened with the caretaking work that was used to define females disappearing. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result of industrialization and modernization, the American society is shaped with changes evidenced in the family unit. For instance, today s families are nuclear and thus separated from their extended kin. Today s typical American family consists of a husband, a wife, and the dependent children (Schulte 17). Based on the explanation given by Parsons and Bales, a nuclear family as a functioning system depends and requires successful performance of roles and equilibrium. This is extended further by Hochschild who argues that the major roles in today s nuclear family are provision of income, creating and maintaining relationships with family and friends, caring for the children, socializing children, cleaning the house, disciplining the children, and preparing food (91). However, while Parsons and Bales divide gender roles into instrumental and expressive ones, this difference is not noted in the current society in which any of the gender can perform any role to ensure equilibrium and sustainability of the current nuclear family unit. In the traditional gender role division explained by Parsons and Bales, the roles by men and women in the family are separated. Using the classical sociological view, even though men perform caregiving roles, these are instrumental and managerial in nature. • 20. The World Of The Aztec Empire How was Cortes with 508 soldiers able to conquer the Aztec Empire with millions of peoples inside its borders? Cortes was able to conquer the Aztec people for several different reasons. The Aztecs had a very harsh tribute system that was not popular among the other peoples of Mexico. This ferocious tribute system allowed Cortes to act as a liberator of some sort. Additionally, with the Spanish came several diseases the Aztec peoples had never encountered. The spread of diseases such as small pox and many others drastically reduced the Aztec population and sped up Cortes cause. However not only war captives were sacrifices, common adults and children were also sacrificed at times. Cortes himself was disgusted at the thought of human sacrifice, this allowed him to gain Indian allies as well as gain respect among Mexican tribes that feared and opposed the Aztecs. The majority of the population feared the process therefore making Cortes, whom despised the process, an appealing alternative. Many followed Cortes as they shared the same views on the human sacrifice topic. Because Cortes posed to eliminate the Aztecs it allowed him to appear as a liberator of the tyranny of the Aztec rule. Secondly, a relatively minor cause for Cortes success was the issue of disease among the Aztecs. Although this was a fairly feeble reason it actually greatly benefited the Spanish in reducing the Aztec population. The Spanish brought smallpox to Mexico, said to be linked to an infected slave arriving from Spanish Cuba, which caused great suffering to the Aztecs. The Spanish were immune to the disease so it posed no threat to Cortes own men. The Aztecs were demoralized by the mysterious illness that killed Indians and spared Spaniards, as if advertising the Spaniards invincibility. Long s speech was judged based on his practices as a Louisiana senator and governor, however it had the potential to be so much more had he lived to continue his legacy. People appeared to be afraid of how Governor Long operated within the legislative system of Louisiana because of the fact that, he tended to find his way around legal statutes that hindered his agenda. Some could argue that he stepped out of the bounds of power that reigns in a representative of a democratic nation, however he wound up being one of the most effective public servants in the country. Amidst the Great Depression, Governor Long gave Louisiana s economy a huge lift with the vast construction of bridges, schools, and roads. In fact the state of Louisiana has not had anything close to such an economic boost as to what Huey p. Long offered since that time. As time has passed, Louisiana has become infamous for its lack of proper public education, especially regarding grades one through twelve. This lack of proper education has become constantly associated with the state since Huey Long s assassination. Despite the controversy over how Long executed his political agenda, it cannot be refuted on how productive and beneficial his reign was for the state. One of the main reasons that the 1905 revolution failed was because the October Manifesto merely only satisfied the middle classes appetite for reform. To add, the readiness of the liberals to accept the government s political and economical bribes indicted that they were not genuinely ready for a revolution at this time. Imagine what the numbers would be like if you added up all the homicides that took place in each state throughout the United States. It would be outrageous and that would only be for our 50 states, it does not include other countries around our world. Crime rates are skyrocketing and something needs to be done. For some of these offenders, receiving a harsh punishment and being put in jail makes them realize what they have done and makes them want to better themselves once they get out. On the other hand, other offenders serve their time, get released, and go right back to their old ways, the ways that put them in jail in the first place. Advertising Effects of Over the Counter and Prescription drug on Consumer Purchasing Habits By Celise Blackman Mass Communications Research Professor Roman Introduction This study looks at how prescription drugs (Rx) and over the counter drugs (OTC) are advertised and how that potentially effects buying habits of consumers. There have been studies on this in the past but researchers failed to consider important factors such as age, exposure to advertising, health conditions of their audience. Results of this study could allow advertisers to consider our findings when producing advertisements. Consumers who see this study may also choose to do their own research on the Rx or OTC they consider purchasing. Also, medical professionals that have the authority to write Rx for their patients would be better informed of how the advertisements are perceived, causing them to present these drugs more or less. Now, this could negatively affect the pharmaceutical drug industry financially if doctors stop using their advertisements. However, that is not our goal in this study, just mearly a side effect. Literary Review Studies have shown that advertisements for prescription drugs (Rx) and over the counter drugs (OTC) can be perceived differently depending on the audience. Furthermore, according to Alperstein (2014), in relation to Rx drugs, Pharmaceutical marketers historically avoided advertising directly to young adults, and by agreement to teens, perhaps ... • 32. Summary Of Blake s Innocent Chimney Sweeper The way in which both poems are structured is also important in understanding the relationship between innocence and experience. As one becomes less ignorant towards the suffrage around them, they become bitter towards their own society, which is clearly reflected in the structure of the poems. Blake s Innocent Chimney Sweeper is perfectly symmetrical, consisting of six stanzas, each containing four lines of four beats. This gives the poem a song like quality, which is effective in highlighting the sadness of the subject matter. Child labour is not a joyful subject matter and should not be associated with upbeat songs. It can be argued that Blake structures the poem in this way to illustrate that the narrator uses song to cope through his intensive labour, for it is the only part of his childhood that he can still cling to. This also contributes towards showing how young the children are, because the lyrical quality and the positive tone used throughout the poem reflects the youthfulness of the narrator. The contrast between the sound of the poem and its content highlights the narrator s way of trying to preserve his own innocence. This contrast is also effective in showing that Tom Darce is ignorant, and therefore, still innocent towards suffrage because he uses songs and daydreams to mask his painful reality, illustrated when he envisions running down a green plain, leaping, laughing. As the poem progresses, the rhymes eventually become less regular, which ruins the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One such species is the sea otter. The sea otter has an important role in the ecological preservation of pacific kelp forests. Sea Otters contribute towards the overall health and well being of the ecosystem they inhabit. The sea otter is an important predator in the nearshore marine ecosystem of the North Pacific Ocean. It is considered a keystone species in the ecosystem. They limit the prey populations of a variety of marine invertebrates that reside near the shore. Sea otters have large scale community effects disproportionate to their abundance. (Carswell and Long, 2). Their main prey consists of sea urchins and abalone. Sea urchins and abalone devour the kelp forests that run along the coasts of California. Sea otters contribute to kelp production by eating these invertebrates, thus where there are sea otters, kelp forests spread along the continental shelf. The California kelp forests have the greatest biodiversity of the temperate latitudes (Recarte) Kelp forests are the Ocean s rainforest (Recarte). There are thirty four different species of seahorses. Many people are surprised when they find out that seahorses are a type of fish. They have fins and gills, the defining features of a fish. When seahorses are in a group they are called a herd, just like horses. Seahorses usually live one to five years, but they are becoming endangered because their habitat is slowly being destroyed. Seahorses can be as small as one inch long and as tall as twelve inches long! (Trisha Shaskan, page 23) Seahorses are not alone though, the Syngnathidae family also includes pipefish and seadragons. Syngnathidae means fused jaw. Pipefish are very similar to seahorses, but there are also differences. For example they look a little different, their necks are not bent, and they are very long and thin. Only a few male pipefish have pouches to hold babies like male seahorses. The rest attach the eggs to their stomach or tuck them in folds in their skin. Sea dragons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are enticed by their beauty. (Deborah Coldiron, page 29) Seahorses habitats shrink due to pollution and other human activities. People dredge their homes, knocking over the plants used for their habitats. Luckily, people have begun to realize the dangers that seahorses face In 2004 seahorses became a protected species. Now there are limits on the sale and fishing of seahorses. As many people are taught to have a positive outlook, it might not be until one practices meditative rituals that one realizes that there are aspects of life where possible pleasure is absent. It is also important to recognize that suffering is an unavoidable result of changes in life. Anything that brings joy must end at some time and that ending will inevitably bring pain. Suffering can be sorted into three categories: Duhkha duhkha, vipariṇāma duḥkha, and saṃskāraduḥkha. Duhkha duhkha is about physical suffering such as sickness, injury, death, etc. These are the pains that Buddha first saw when he left his palace, before seeking enlightenment. Vipariṇāma duḥkha refers to the suffering that results in change. Since the world is constantly changing, one can never be certain as to their happiness for the next day, and the day after that. This uncertainty of happiness is an absence of pleasure in and of itself. Saṃskāraduḥkha, in common terms, can be summed up as all good things come to an end . Everything that is or has been has an end. Everything must return to the various states it was before it was formed. For example, no matter what sort of life a human being experienced, in the end all humans face death and the bodies disassemble into the various components it is made of. The body decays and breaks down into the materials that form it such as carbon, minerals, and vitamins. The Second ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The nineteenth century was the century of the United States. I think that we can claim that is it Canada that shall fill the twentieth century. was said by Laurier and his words passed almost without notice at the time. However, it did not take long before his words had somehow been transformed into the most famous phrase in Canadian history, The twentieth century belongs to Canada. The way the government of Canada handled the issues of the First Nations, effectively demonstrated the fact that the government regarded the immediate problems of the First Nations as a matter of indifference. The efforts of Canada persistently indicated that unless the First Nations held any benefit to the expansion of the economical, political or social aspects of their government, they would be overlooked merely because of their cultural origins. Often times, when it came to the discussion on equality within Canada, the actions of Canada were compared to those of the United States, and often times, a comment is made stating that the United States could learn from Canada s example when it came to racial harmony. However, this idea was often criticized as the racial problems within Canada were just as severe. The respect and the livelihood of the First Nation were violated for years even before the start of the twentieth century. However, the issues of the First Nations were hardly ever brought to light by other Canadians because these issues were often hidden deep within the reserves that these First Nations were forced into. From taking their land away to disregarding their cultures, the government rarely ever acknowledged the needs of the First Nations until they could no longer be ignored. Bowling wrote, This theme often comes out in the form of paradox, since the characters are constantly being shocked and surprised that one quality of a thing is often in sharp disagreement with some other quality (Bowling). Bowling agrees with the analysis of Romeo and Juliet having a central focus on conflict. Throughout the play there are conflicting meanings often confuse the reader as well as the characters. These paradoxes are included to show the profound effect of conflict within communication. Without conflict, which is a disagreement between people or options, there would be no complexity. It fleshes out the characters of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in a way that makes you consider your own life! Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are incredibly indecisive, and they just get dragged away by the currents on the river of life. They are always being told what to do and where to go, and they never question it. They never stop and think, maybe, we don t have to do this. Unfortunately, they don t notice this until too late. Once they knew they were doomed, Guildenstern reminisces that at some point, there had to have been a time where they could have said no; where they could have stopped all of this from happening. It didn t matter anymore though. They were done. This play is saying that people need to take charge of their lives, and make their own decisions. Don t just let life pass you by. Lastly, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead teaches the message of knowing your identity. What were Rosencrantz and Guildenstern missing, above all else? It s not remembering the past; they could have just worried about the future. It s not decision making; they could have gotten along fine just following someone else s lead. It works for most people. What they were really missing was their identities. Neither Rosencrantz nor Guildenstern had fully developed a sense of self. Neither really did anything that made them distinct from the other. In essence, they were the same, and interchangeable. This was made clear throughout the duration of the play, because of several small details. Usefulness of Spreadsheet Modeling in Financial Accounting... 21st century is the century of technology, and spreadsheet is one of the great technological inventions that greatly improve working efficiency. Spreadsheet is a computer application with functions that can improve the user s productivity in collecting, analyzing, and sharing tabular data sets. It displays multiple cells usually in a two dimensional matrix or grid making up of rows and columns. Each cell contains alphanumeric text, numeric values, or formulas (Wikipedia, 2011). As one of the most popular financial software, spreadsheet is widely applied in areas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is widely agreed that problems with information security and managerial control over spreadsheet accuracy stem from the inherent nature of spreadsheet software. The first problem is the difference between making a spreadsheet simply appear on the display screen and constructing a well designed spreadsheet characterized by integrity and build in controls. This is particularly troublesome since once they are set up, spreadsheets may be used for an extended period of time and are often copied and distributed to others. If errors have been programmed into the spreadsheet s original version, they will affect the spreadsheet s output forever and be replicated and compounded each time the spreadsheet is reproduced (Busbin et al, 1990). Secondly, because spreadsheet software allows convenient alteration of value and design, without built in controls subsequent users may alter spreadsheet structure and thereby unknowingly compromise the integrity of the original design, and at the worst, could be flawed final decision making due to a reliance upon erroneous information (Busbin et al, 1990).
