Harmful effects of mobile phone and mobile tower radiation - Avishkar Magazin...Neha Kumar
Harmful effects of cell phone and cell tower radiation - Avishkar Magazine ( Hindi ), July 2014

The harmful effects of cell phone and tower radiation are highlighted along with effect on environment and suggestions to take corrective measures
Better Radiation Norms for Cell Phones/Cell Towers - Prof. Girish Kumar , IIT Bombay
Presentation at Bombay Telephone User’s Association ( BTUA ), Mumbai on Jan 2010 - Consumer Awareness and Radiation Health Hazards from cell phones and mobile towers - Myth or Reality
The Indian government has adopted the ICNIRP guidlenes for cell tower radiation exposure which are the worst in the world. Several health effects have been reported much below these ICNIRP guidelines.
The ICNIRP state that these guidelines are only for short term exposure and considers only thermal effects and does not take account non thermal effects which are more harmful and occurs much below thermal effects. According to our calculations the ICNIRP guidleines implies that a human body can be safely kept in a microwave oven for 1166 secs = 19 minutes per day!! (see presentation for calculations)
In USA, max. SAR limit for cell phones is 1.6W/Kg which is for 6 minutes. It has a safety margin of 3 to 4, so a person should not use cell phone for more than 18 to 24 minutes per day. This information is not commonly given to users.
In Usha Kiran Building, Worli four cancer cases were reported until now from cell phone towers on the opposite building at about 50 meter. However, in the event one of the residents mentioned that the number of cancer cases had risen to six now and these cases were reported on the 5th, 6th (2 cases), 7th, 8th and 10th floor, all these houses are in direct line of sight from the tower installed on the opposite building on the 7th Floor.
Besides human health, electromagnetic radiation has also effected the environment, birds, animals, plants and fruit production.
Other countries based on the cases reported and their studies have adopted much lower radiation norms to protect their citizens.
All this calls for immediate need to adopt strict and lower radiation norms.
In the end, some suggestions have been given which can be adopted as possible solutions to minimize the risk of EMF radiation from cell towers.

Vodafone summer internship- Branding & Pos Material developmentAbhimanyu Singh
This topic was undertaken during my summer internship at Vodafone in April, 2012. the job was to understand the importance of branding, particularly in store branding for vodafone in multi-brand outlets. to understand the the effect of point of sale materials on both customers and retailers. a detailed market survey was conducted in Bangalore covering 12 towns and some 250 retail outlets. the second part of my internship was to devise a new point of sale material for instore branding of retail outlets. I came up with dedicated merchandise holders for vodafone posters and information cards as traditional practice is to paste posters on walls which were later overlapped by competitors posters`. this was seen as a disadvantage for both retailers and the company in terms of visibility and information providing. A pilot project was conducted to find the acceptability of the new point of sale material. all the retailers who were a part of the pilot project agreed to keep the holder as they found them useful.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

How to Create Map Views in the Odoo 17 ERPCeline George
The map views are useful for providing a geographical representation of data. They allow users to visualize and analyze the data in a more intuitive manner.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

•Driven by wireless revolution, the Indian
telecommunications industry is one of the fastest
growing in the world.
•According to TRAI's report 'Telecom Sector in India: A
Decadal Profile', the tele-density has increased from 4.3
in March 2002 to 78.1 in February 2012.
•The share of telecommunication services (excluding
postal and miscellaneous services), as per cent of the
total gross domestic product (GDP), has increased
from 0.96 in 2000-01 to 3.78 in 2009 -10.
•Wherein the rural areas registered an increase from 1.2
in March 2002 to 38.5 in February 2012.
9. Page 9
•According to the same report, international
comparisons (among 222 countries) show
that India has the second largest number of
telephone subscribers in the world
accounting for 12 per cent of the world's total
telephone subscribers.
•India is today one of the largest telecom
markets in the world, with an addition of
more than 18 million subscribers every
month.
• Telecom sector has continued to emerge as
the prime engine of economic growth,
contributing to nearly 2% of the Indian GDP.
14. Page 14
•The Government of India is focusing on improving rural tele-
density and broadband connectivity, effective expansion of the
networks with efficient utilization of scarce spectrum and ensuring
equal sharing of highly capital intensive infrastructure.
•TRAI, the telecom sector regulator, intends to create standards to
ensure quality of service for mobile phone companies which
deliver mobile data services to the users.
•TRAI has created nine parameters benchmarks including service
activation clause (that the service would be activated within three
hours with a 95 per cent success rate), drop rate (or the network's
inability to upload or download, should be below 2 per cent) etc.
•Considering the fact that roll out of 3G and 4G high-speed data
access services across the country will lead to quantum jump in
the number of mobile internet users.

employment opportunities for about 10 million
people during the same period.

Policy.
3. For accelerating the growth of Tele-density in
the country.

LATEST SCENERIO 2012
•The telecom tower industry has been granted infrastructure
status by the Government of India, say news reports.
•According to TRAI, he telecom subscriber base in the country
increased from 951.34 million in March, 2012 to 965.52 million in
June, 2012. Subscriber additions from rural areas constituted a
large portion of this growth. Between March and June 2012, the
rural areas contributed to about 91.30 per cent of the total
additions to the country’s subscriber base.
As per TRAI data the gross revenue and adjusted gross revenue
of the telecom sector increased from
Rs 35.49 billion in previous quarter to Rs 52.51 billion for the

Finding and suggestions
FINDINGS
1.Reducing the product and service
price.
2.New advertisement campaign.
3.Pressurizing the government to
make the policy tough for new
competitors.
4.New offer for current customer in
terms of price and service.
SUGGESTIONS
1. Since tele-density is still around
21% therefore telecom companies
have to try to those market which is
still untapped by the other telecom
companies.
2. Keep their technology up to date so
that they should always offer
something new to their existing
customer and also new customer.
3. Should provide better customer
service through better customer
relation so that old customer doesn't
left.
