People are products of their history, their environment and all of their experiences. As a result, people from different generations often have very different life experiences that shape how they think, what they value, and what drives them. These influences affect people’s values and attitudes throughout their lives.

Today’s economic situation may have leveled the playing field in terms of the impact rising unemployment is having across all the generations, however, this does not diminish the fact that each generation brings its own unique way of dealing with the world and its ever changing terrain. This manifesto addresses the uniqueness and similarities of the four generations known as the: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials with regards to workplace teams.

Generational differences are perceived in the workplace, according to "Can You Trust Anyone Under Thirty?", a case study in Conrad and Poole's (2012) Strategic Organizational Communication (pp. 14-17). Levenson (2010) counters that perceived differences may not be actual differences, especially when stages of life cycles and environmental factors are considered.

WEBINAR INFORMATION: In the contemporary U.S. workforce, four generations now often work side by side. They have had varied life experiences, are characterized by different levels of technological expertise and knowledge, and are often distinguished by racial, cultural, religious, and regional diversity. This webcast will address the implications of these differences for employers and managers. The primary focus is on the differences between generations and what they mean for managers who are trying to build teams and support the diverse needs of their employees. The webcast will also emphasize the technological divide that is at times a divisive element between generations in how they approach their work and personal lives. The effects of globalization and increasing diversity area also addressed. By the end of this webcast participants will be able to: • Identify the characteristics and work orientations of Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X’ers, and Millennials. • Understand intergenerational dynamics and the technological and social media divide between generations • Develop more cohesive, smooth functioning work teams • Appreciate and capitalize on the value of multiple employee perspectives and capabilities • Employ new strategies for overcoming differing generational perspectives at the workplace in order to increase productivity ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Bahira Sherif Trask, PhD., is a Professor and Associate Chair of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Delaware and a Policy Scientist in the Center for Community Research and Service. She holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Yale University. Dr. Trask is a leading expert on globalization, work and families in Western and non-Western contexts. She has authored and edited a number of books in this area, including Globalization and Families: Accelerated Systemic Social Change (Springer, 2010). BSL 4040, Communication Skills for Leaders 1 Course Learning Outcomes for Unit VII Upon completion of this unit, students should be able to: 1. Evaluate presentation issues and methods. 2. Compile strategies for designing effective presentation deliveries. 3. Design an effective oral presentation. Reading Assignment Chapter 11: Developing Your Professional Presentation Chapter 12: Delivering Professional Presentations Unit Lesson “I read a thing that actually says that speaking in front of a crowd is considered the number one fear of the average person. I found that amazing–number two was death! That means to the average person if you have to be at a funeral, you would rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.” Jerry Seinfeld “You can speak well if your tongue can deliver the message of your heart.” John Ford “Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel.” Ralph Waldo Emerson Confident Communication Many people, throughout history, have addressed presentations and speaking in public. Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle spent a great deal of time presenting and analyzing presentation skills in the mid-400s BC. In our current business environment, leaders are expected to have the ability to give presentations. Do you love to present to others or does the thought of presenting cause you to break out in a cold sweat? Dale Carnegie, an American writer, lecturer, and the developer of famous courses in presentation and speaking skills (n.d.), once said, “There are always three speeches, for every one you actually gave. The one you practiced, the one you gave, and the one you wish you gave.” Josh Russell, contributor to the UK Elite Business (2013), states, “Knowing how to pitch and present is a vital skill.... And, as with any skill, practice very much makes perfect” (p. 1). According to Russell, people have varied skills when presenting and need to practice in order to develop confidence (p. 1, 2013). Even the best presenters get nervous. Survey after survey reports that speaking in public is a common fear. Natalie Sisson (2012), Forbes writer, suggests that “the fear of public speaking is the most common fear and prevents many people from achieving their potential” and asks readers to “Imagine if you were comfortable speaking in public and took every opportunity presented, how would your life improve? According to Sisson, if you choose to address your fears and present anyway you will be viewed as a brave leader because you are trying, expose yourself to new clients and opportunities, gain the trust of your clients, reduce your competition because you are willing to face your fear, and accomplish great things because every time you speak you improve (p. 1). Understanding why you are nervous is a great first step to dealing with anxieties. Beebe & Mottet (2013) offer a few tips for building confidence. They suggest that you do not procrastinate so that you have pl ...

1.Intorduction To begin with, we have decided to come up with a product called “Build Your Future.” The purpose for our brand “Build Your Future” is to help people find that perfect spouse they’ve been missing or searching for. Who wouldn’t want the perfect spouse for someone who’s always going to be there for you and never cheat. “Build Your Future” is also for people who are lonely and don’t have what it takes to get the person they want. Our company will be building human like robots with artificial intelligence from the ground up based off the buyer’s preference. Consumers will have the choice of everything they would want to be included in their person of interest for instance; hair color, skin color, height, weight, and personality. 2. Method The mastermind behind the planning came about via social media. Social media is a platform that allows many individuals to create and share their ideas in social networking. So as I prepared to do my secondary research, I used social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to gather all the intake I needed for our new products. While doing this, we found many sources like “Being single hits very hard at night”, “I deserve everything and then some”, “The older you get the harder it is to like somebody”, “This generation will really have you kicking it solo”, and many more. Going about this process gave me a lot of information I needed, being that almost everyone in this generation communicate through the internet. Based off of our research for our secondary data, we decided to provide surveys amongst several individuals. In the survey, we asked if any would want to find their significant other the natural way or build one. Out of a total of 100 surveys, 75% of the people requested build as their choice. Also in the survey, we provided other questions regarding the choice of building their soulmate like; descriptive features, personality traits, and other qualifications that would matter in their case for their spouse to convey. The answers to those questions would help significantly being that our new product has the ability to assemble whatever you would prefer your spouse to have. Interviews were also conducted to go off of the surveys presented to strongly justify the individual’s choice and honesty. 3. Summary of Secondary Research 4. Target Market Target market consists of anybody who is seeking love. Teenagers, Young Adults, Senior Citizens, and Middle Age People of all ages. On our website we will have a We always see people complain or have problems with their spouse no matter the age this product will be useful and helpful. Build Your Future gives these people the ability to have it all and create just what you want in a spouse. 5. Product Description and Benefit Analysis Our product is an actual man or woman you have the opportunity to create and build your own spouse. The benefits of this product gives the.
