2. How does the brand make them different and unique?
Brands make artists/bands different from each other and more recognisable.
For example using a certain logo or font type an artist would be associated with
that thing and therefore a brand is created for the artist. They have to be different
from other artists so that its unique.
This font is used on all Green day products including This logo is straight forward and is instantly
Posters, singles, magazine adverts this is associated with recognisable for the Foo Fighters.
Green day simply because of the style of the letters.
Their logo also is associated with the band
and appears on merchandise

and merchandise
3. How are you going to replicate this brand across all
three texts (video, digipak and magazine advert?
By following the same font style and layout styles for the three texts, a brand
would be created. By conforming to genre stereotypes and conventions, a
brand will also be created. Like in the examples I will follow the same images
of the band and use them on the digipak and magazine cover. In the video
there will be a connection with the artist and the other texts so that the
audience recognise the branding used for the artist.

4. How are you going to create the necessary
images/icons/logos?
- during filming? Separate photo shoot? Post- production?
- lyrics as inspiration? Genre or name?
I am going to create a brand by having a central theme such as a image which
runs throughout the texts, fonts which are the same, similar colours so it is obvious
That they are all linked and a branded logo for the artist/band.
I am going to create a logo or icon using Photoshop, or similar programs which allow
You to experiment with images and creating them. But before creating the logo I will
Take photos of the artist/band so they can be used to create the logo. A few photo
shoots will have to be done to test different settings before the final magazine advert
is created. I will use the images and make them conform to genre conventions.
5. Example work: - How have they created brand identity?
- How have they represented the genre (indie/folk)?
Leo Parry Looking at the example work, they have created brand
Identity by using the same similar photos on all three texts this
includes the digipak and magazine advert. The images consist of
the same artist image and a brick wall.
They have conformed to a indie/folk genre by dressing the artist in
indie clothes and the setting looks like it is taken in an urban area.
On the digipak there is an image of the artist with a guitar this
conforms to a folk genre and also links in with the branding.
The branding is effective and works well with the style and follows
genre conventions. The colours and font types are also consistent
throughout therefore also branding the artist and genre.
