6. Poster analysis In this poster you can see a red cross which has connotations with which also links into the title ‘devil’. The photo is also centre of the photo graph and almost gives the feeling of seclusion. On each poster small print is apparent which gives information such as actors in the film or distributors and companies involved The background is dark, which is a convention of horror being based around night time and again emphasises the connotations with seclusion One noun forms the name of the film which is much more effective as its sharp and snappy as gets stuck into the consumers head. Again a noun with a determiner ‘the’ forms the name of the film in order to make it a memorable name its also in red which implies danger This poster contains a short slogan smaller than the name of the film but larger than the small print in order to make it noticeable. Again the small print tells the consumer information such as different companies involved and also sometimes when the film is released which is highlighted in red to emphasise. The photo of this poster follows the rules of third and is placed in intersections of the power point which is known as the point of interest of a picture, therefore people will straight away notice the eye of the photo to entice them into watching the film.
