2. Our group originally came up with
several interesting ideas for our three
minute movie. We hoped to create an
unusual yet entertaining movie
however, when weighing out what we
had access to i.e. equipment,
locations, etc..
3. ..we decided to go with an urban
theme as it’s what we’re more familiar
with and can possibly execute well.
Inspired by Kidulthood and Adulthood,
we originally came up with the
following ideas:
4. IDEA 1: Theme(s) – college-based, peer
pressure, troubled teenagers
A young, disadvantaged girl, suffering from
some sort of mental disorder, feelings of
depression and hopelessness, barely living,
she changes school once again and gets
accepted by class peers for once, except
it’s the wrong crowd and they jump at the
chance to take advantage of a vulnerable
girl.
5. IDEA 2: Theme(s) – rape, kidnap,
danger
Teenage girl (originally an orphan)
gets sexually assaulted by her foster
father regularly, foster mother is
always busy at work – no time for her
marriage, girl attempts to run away for
the third time, this time she succeeds,
yet she ends up in a much more worse
place than before.
6. IDEA 3: Theme(s) – money, stress, desperation,
struggle
First year female Uni student, big
plans and ambitions, struggling to find
a job due to lack of placements and
experience, struggling to make ends
meet, friend offers to help her out,
combines life savings with her to buy
student accomodation, ends up buying
a brothel, girl traps uni peers in brothel
in order to fund her studies.
7. There were more ideas but they
hadn’t been developed much. Our
three main ideas seem quite chilling
and sadistic but this is because we
found these ideas to be more
intriguing for viewers to watch and
more interesting for us to film.
8. Seeing as our group contains two
males and four females, our story had
to include more female roles than
males which is why the lead roles are
mainly female also.
9. When thinking of which idea to go with,
we had to take into consideration how
realistic and time-consuming it would all
be..
10. ..we thought of access to different
location points, equipment, acting
skills, time-management etc. and
concluded that it would be quite tricky
to carry out the image we originally
had in our heads..
11. ..therefore we decided to keep it quite
simple and went with the first idea
simply because the college setting is
much more easier to film and is
something a lot of people can possibly
relate to.
