      Pre-wall construction is a technique which can provide considerable savings in time and disruption. Instead of using the existing walls of the bathroom to site and support the bath, basin, toilet, etc, these are fixed to an inner wall which is located in front of the existing one. The toilet cistern and all the supply and waste pipes are concealed behind the `pre-wall', which may be the full height of the room or just sufficiently high to carry the bathroom elements and provide a storage shelf above. Whether this inner wall is full or half height, access to the elements behind is important, for maintenance and repair. The engineer must consider the relation of the pipes quality in relation with the plumbing design of the building,

The specially designed branch inlet fitting, which is covered by worldwide patents, reduces the pneumatic pressure fluctuations in stacks preventing the Syphonage of traps.
      To prove the virtues of the SOVENT system, a 10-storey hydraulic test tower was built in Bern, Switzerland.       Drainage performance
      The SOVENT fitting itself is engineered in HDPE and is therefore directly integrated within HDPE drainage systems. The design concept of The SOVENT is that it eliminates the need for separate vent stacks by reducing the maximum flow velocity in the discharge stack compared to that in a normal installation, slowing the flow as it passes through each SOVENT fitting. The benefit of this being to reduce air pressure fluctuations in the stack reducing the need for secondary vent stack normally needed to prevent the Siphonage of traps connected to appliances.The hydraulic and pneumatic balancing of a stack system is highly complex as each stack has its own characteristics and the capacity of the stack depends on the flow rate of the appliance, their simultaneous discharge pattern and the branch inlet configurations. The positive and negative pressures have to be limited in order to maintain the water seals in the traps and therefore retain a healthy environment with no unpleasant smells.       The reduction of stack sizes compared to a secondary ventilated system is best illustrated by example that a typical 160mm SOVENT stack could accommodate twice as many apartments per stack when using the SOVENT system.
      The SOVENT is designed with six capped off connection positions with the optimum installation configuration determined for each situation. The rub-off connections are made by opening the relevant mould closure using a fine tooth saw. HDPE pipe work or fitting can then be directly butt welded to the SOVENT body.
