Bauer Media Group is a large European conglomerate that owns hundreds of magazines across 15 countries as well as radio and TV stations. It owns Kerrang, a UK-based magazine and brand devoted to rock music that was established in 1981. Kerrang has expanded to include a radio station, TV station, awards shows, and tours. Bauer Media Group acquired Kerrang in 2009 and it remains one of the conglomerate's holdings focused on rock music content across multiple platforms.

A conglomerate is a massive company, which owns lots of
little companies. I have chosen BAUER as my Conglomerate.
BAUER owns lots for smaller companies such as Kerrang,
Planet rock, Q and Heat.

History Of Bauer
Bauer Media is a division of the Bauer Media Group, which is
Europe’s largest privately owned publishing group. The group is
a worldwide media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15
countries as well as online, TV and Radio stations. Bauer Media
joined the Bauer Media Group in January 2008 and collectively
the group employs over 6,400 people. Bauer Media is a multi-platform
UK-based media Group consisting of many companies
collected around two main divisions; Magazines and Radio.
Kerrang - Synergy
Magazine: Kerrang is a UK based magazine, which is
devoted to rock. It was first published in 1981 as a one of
supplement in the Sounds newspaper and was originally
devoted to New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. In the early
2000’s it became the best-selling British music newspaper.
Angus Young and ACDC appeared of Kerrang’s first cover.
After being launched as a monthly magazine its popularity
forced Kerrang to publish fortnightly and then in 1987 it
went weekly. The original owner was United Newspapers
who then sold it to EMAP in 1991. During the 1980’s the
magazine placed many thrash and glam metal acts on the
cover, such as Bon Jovi, Metallica and Slayer. In 2009 EMAP
sold Kerrang to the current owner BAUER Media Group.

Radio: Since launching in June 2004, Kerrang Radio has won
many awards in its time from Media Brand of the Year to
Station of the Year. The Radio brand takes its passion for a true
alternative to pop music from Kerrang magazine, offering a
broad range of rock music with attitude from the likes of You
Me At Six, Nirvana, Green Day, Metallica plus many more. On
23 May 2013, Bauer Media announced that the output of DAB
station Planet Rock would become available on FM in the West
Midlands on the frequency used by Kerrang Radio in
Birmingham from 14 June 2013. All programming will come
from London with the Birmingham studios closing and Kerrang
continuing in a different form on digital platforms.
Television: Kerrang TV is a digital television station owned
by Box Television. As of 2005 all of its programme content is
music videos, the majority of permit text requests from their
playlist. The TV station's playlist is mainly metal and pop
punk/skate punk, although with some unusual exceptions. The
channel is available on many platforms
including Sky, Smallworld Cable and Virgin Media. On 2 April
2013, all Box Television channels went free-to-air on satellite,

apart from 4Music, which went free-to-view. As a result the
channels were removed from the Sky EPG in Ireland. However,
Kerrang TV launched on Freesat on 15 April 2013, alongside
three other Box Television channels.
Awards: The Kerrang Awards is an annual music awards show
in the United Kingdom, founded by the music
magazine, Kerrang. The annual awards features performances
by artists, and some of the awards of more popular interest are
presented in a televised ceremony. This event is presented by
major music celebrities, with many others outside the industry
who attend the event, sometimes presenting the awards with one
example being Jodie Marsh in 2003 presenting Feeder with their
Best British Band award.
Tour: Kerrang! Tour is a tour of rock music concerts around the
UK and is maintained by Kerrang Magazine. Kerrang Tour is
usually announced in October of the previous year and is held
throughout January and February of the year of touring.
