It was founded in 1953 launching fishing and motorcycle magazines and expanded into radio in the 1990s and digital platforms. Who are the company?
• Bauer Media Group is a European- based media company,
headquartered in Hamburg, Germany that manages a portfolio of
more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and
TV stations around the world.

3. What is their company history?
• Bauer magazine first launched in 1953 of Angling Times and the acquisition in
1956 of Motor Cycle News, which both remain iconic brands.
• Bauer radio business started in 1990 with the gain of London dance station
Kiss FM now know as Kiss 100, followed by the gain of Liverpool's Radio City
and later by TWC and the Metro Group. Then Bauer gained Melody FM
which was changed into the market-leading Magic 105.4.
• In 1994, the company bought a small magazine called For Him Magazine
which is now the core of the best-selling international multi-platform brand
FHM.
• In 1996, we acquired digital music TV channel The Box, as a route into the
small screen business, which has grown into Box Plus Network, a seven
channel joint venture TV business with Channel 4.
• Closer was launched in 2002 and Britain’s first weekly glossy, GRAZIA, was
launched in 2005.

Bauer is a publishing brand that include women's weekly and TV listings
magazines; namely Bella, Take a Break, that's life! TVChoice and Total
TVGuide. This is as well as a number of puzzle magazines.
1991 saw H Bauer's first TV listings publishing with the launch of
TVQuick magazine. (Prior to the de-regulation of TV listings in March
1991, BBC listings had been restricted by law to Radio Times and
ITV/Channel 4 listings to TVTime.) TVQuick ceased publication in July
2010. In 1999 H Bauer launched TVChoice at a much lower price point
than other titles on the market.
Q started out as a music magazine published monthly in the United
Kingdom. Originally it was to be called Cue (named after the act of
cueing a record to play). However the name was changed so that it
wouldn't be mistaken for a snooker magazine. The Q music brand has
expanded to Radio and Television, with Q Radio and Q TV being music
entertainment that specialises in indie, rock and alternative.

5. NME
• New Musical Express (NME) is a British music
journalism magazine published since March 1952. It is
largely associated with rock alternative and indie music. It
was the first British paper to include a singles chart, in the
edition of 14 November 1952. In the 1970s it became the
best-selling British music newspaper. During the period
1972 to 1976, it was particularly associated with gonzo
journalism (self-involved reporting), then became closely
associated with punk rock through the writings of Julie
Burchill, Paul Morley and Tony Parsons. It started as a
music newspaper, and gradually moved toward a
magazine format during the 1980s and 1990s, changing
from newsprint in 1998.

6. Future PLC
• Future plc is a media company. In 2006, it was ranked
as the sixth-largest media corporation in the United
Kingdom. It publishes more than 30 magazines in fields
such as video games, technology, films, photography, and
sport. Future is the official magazine company of two out
of the three major games console manufacturers with
Official Nintendo Magazine ceased publishing in October
2014. It is a constituent of the FTSE Fledgling Index. The
company also owns the US company Future US.
• The company was founded as Future Publishing in
Somerton, Somerset in 1985 by Chris Anderson with the
sole magazine Amstrad Action. An early innovation was
the inclusion of free software on magazine covers, the
first company to do so.

7. Guitarist
Guitarist is a monthly music making magazine published by Future plc
in the United Kingdom. It is the longest-established European guitar
magazine, and is currently the biggest selling guitar magazine in the UK.
The magazine's current editor is Jamie Dickson, who has been in
charge since late-2013. Each issue of the magazine covers three core
areas - reviews, interview and technique. features reviews of newly
released guitars, amplifiers and other equipment, plus interviews with
famous and up-and-coming guitar players, features on the guitar
industry, news articles, and features on playing technique that are
accompanied by tablature. Guitarist's slogan was previously 'The Guitar
Player's Bible', however in 2012 this was changed to simply 'The Guitar
Magazine'. In the June 2014 edition, Guitarist celebrated its 30th
Anniversary.
