1. BBC stands for British Broadcasting Corporation, which signifies that it is slightly patriotic, as it
is proud to be part of the British comedy. The purpose of providing a content to younger
audiences, focusing on new talent and new technologies as well as comedy entertainment. The
channel is only on-air from 19:00 to approximately 03:00 each night. This suggests that the
target audience (teenagers & young adults) are usually busy throughout the day, therefor this
channel doesn’t come on air until 7PM. However there is no commercial advertisements on any
of the BBC channels, this may be because teenagers are known for not being fond on
advertisements and usually switch to the music channels while the adverts are showing.
The remit of BBC Three is to bring younger audiences to high quality public service
broadcasting through a mixed-genre schedule of innovative UK content featuring new UK
talent. The channel should use the full range of digital platforms to deliver its content and to
build an interactive relationship with its audience. The channel’s target audience is 16-34 year

2. Channel 4 is a British public-service television broadcaster which began transmission on 2nd
