2. What have you learnt from audience feedback? In my opinion audience feedback is the most important when producing a product as the audience are whom are going to buy the product and will further market the product through “hype” if an audience likes a product they will create an hype, through word of mouth or through a social networking site such as Facebook. This effectively creates a larger audience than first wanted and will create profit for an artist. The audience feedback will allow the producers to have an idea of areas that are good and which may need improving. I created a short survey of about 20 people from our target audience (18-24) who watched the product and gave us feedback. I also asked the surveyors what they thought of my ancillary products, and whether they saw a clear connection of all the products. A few people mentioned that we should have included more cuts to show a variety of shots. Many also said that we should include more boys in the video “skanking” which they believed would attract a larger audience and make the video a lot more interesting. Attached to this presentation is some of the feedback we received.

4. Most of the group told us that we needed to have more boys in the video as there were only a few shots of boys in the video but they weren’t of any importance to the video.
5. The majority of the group also said that the girls are wearing more clothes than usual for a video of this genre and that perhaps it didn’t look as good as if the girls were wearing typical clothes.
6. They said that the video was interesting to watch and was edited well.
7.
8.
9. 50% said the video would be played on MTV Base, which specialises more in R&B videos more, but does quite often play FunkyHouse videos.
10. Very few people said our video would be played on Smash Hits! as there is a lot of alcohol and drugs in our video, but Smash Hits! usually play pop music so children are more likely to watch this channel so its not likely that our video would be played on it.
11.
12. We also feel that if the girls were wearing less clothes more boys would’ve said yes they would watch the video again.
13.
14. Most of the group also said that the colours used throughout all my ancillary products link together showing a clear consistency.
15.
16. They also said that the artist stands out in the CD cover and the two lights shining towards him were a good effect.

18. The overall feedback gained enable me to understand audiences better as not everyone is similar, people are unique and therefore have different opinions on different approaches. I personally found that the mise-en-scene was the biggest issue which denied us the chance to attract a larger audience, the use of different clips (alcohol) was also off-putting for some people. When I asked some people to give me their honest opinion although some said they thought we shouldn’t promote such behaviour others found that it is good that we included it as they thought we had thought about the lyrical content and the culture that we live in now. However due to the insertion of these alcohol clips we found that we may not be able to attract audiences from other cultures, especially Asian cultures as they have been brought up in a different culture, so their experience would be different.
