This document outlines the design and construction of a digital locking system. It discusses objectives like creating an affordable and effective security system. A literature review covers the history of locks. The methodology describes the system's components like an Arduino, keypad, LCD display and relay interface. A block diagram and circuit diagram show how it works by checking codes and granting access for correct codes. The system was tested and found to work properly. It has applications in industries, buildings and other secure areas. Advantages include improved security while disadvantages include not being economical for multiple locations. The conclusion discusses how technology improves security systems.

3. INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
Digital code lock or an electronic
combination lock can be used in gates
and doors of restricted areas to permit only
the authorized individuals in the area. The
access is granted to them only after
pressing the correct assigned code of the
system.

This Digital Locking System technology can play an important role
in numerous places, where a sort of anti-theft security is
indispensable, for example in vehicles, safes, restricted entries etc.

4. Chapter one
To design a cheap and effective security system for
buildings, cars, safes, doors and gates etc.
To experiment the application of the digital locking
system.
To prevent unauthorized person from having access to
ones properties through the use of codes.
Objectives:
5. LITERATURE REVIEWLITERATURE REVIEW
In 1857 James Sargent invented metal key
changeable combination lock.
In 1958, the first electronic combination lock was
invented.

As subsequent developments were done, the locks
were improved upon by the improvement of
materials and increasing complexity of the working
mechanisms including the increasing use of
automatic electronic alarm and safety devices.

7. METHODOLOGYMETHODOLOGY
Principle of operation of Digital Locking System:
• The power supply is provided first to the hardware and through voltage
regulator, the circuit components receive their proper supply voltage.
• After that, the LCD displays the required BCD code and asks to the
person to show the tag.
• The code is received by the module and checks the code availability.
• For correct code, LCD displays the CORRECT PASSWORD
• For wrong code, LCD displays INVALID PASSWORD.

12. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONSRESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Results:
The prototype door security system developed in this project
did well in achieving its original goals.
In the beginning, the system will boot up with display on the
LCD screen prompting the user to enter pin code.
The total project works perfectly and has negligible amount
of unexpected functioning.

Advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages-
• Improved Productivity and Cost Avoidance.
• Decreased CycleTimeand Taking CostsOut.
• Reduced Rework.
• Reduced BusinessRisk & Control of Assets.
• Improved Security and Service.
Disadvantages-
•This is not an economical way of providing control at various
locations at a time.
•Workers may started to practice buddy punching for their co-
workers.
15. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONCONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
Conclusion:
As the technology is going on developing day by day, we prefer
things to be done automatically and in the same way our projects
reduces the work to mankind.
For the well-being of lives and properties of individuals, a cheap
and effective way of security system for buildings, cars, safes,
doors and gates has developed. We, therefore experiment the
application of electronic devices as locks.
The general operation of the system and performance is
dependent on the key combinations.
16. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONSCONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Recommendations:
The development of this technology for the field of security
system is not only possible, but it could even prove to be very
useful.
It is evidence that the use of mobile phones with the right
circuitry can be used to operate a security system, since the
mobile phone in today's world; it is an access device a lot easier
and affordable to obtain as opposed to specially fabricated
keys and smart-cards.
The ability of the system to accesses a secure place (Home,
office, ATM etc.) remotely almost anywhere in the world is a plus
since technology has made the world a global village.
