The document discusses a BIM implementation for a large railway project in Qatar consisting of 4 metro lines and 100 stations. It provides details on the BIM organizational structure, model organization in Revit, model progress tracking, coordination processes, quantity take-offs, 4D/5D planning, tunnel modeling methodology, and goals for an as-built BIM model handover.
4. Project Information
Multi Project Environment
As part of the Qatar Integrated Railway Project (QIRP),
the Qatar Railways Company (QRC) is planning the
development of an extensive Metro System serving the
city of Doha, consisting of four Metro lines and
approximately 100 stations. The Metro System will be
supplemented by a Long Distance Network, connecting
Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the South and the
Kingdom of Bahrain in the North.
The Metro stations are being designed to be convenient
transfer hubs between Metro lines and other rail systems
such as people mover and long distance trains, but also
for passengers arriving by other means of feeder
transport.

23. Tunnel modeling
• The tunnel is not straight
• The concrete is not plain
• The ring is not circular
• The center line is not the center line
• The as-built is theoretical as-built
24. Tunnel modeling
With this statements we started
modeling the tunnel using TBM
center points and Dynamo to
place mathematically the rings

40. Quantity Take Off
Excel is always the best friend of
Engineers.
With Dynamo Excel node we
can export easily all the
quantities to a Excel template
which reflect our BoQ table.
Whit this method Engineers can
compare the tender drawing
with the new revisions and find
the differences for the
Procurement and Commercial
department
