AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?

2. HOW DID THE AUDIENCE
REACT?
Overall, my audience reacted positively to my music video. Quotes from my
open questionnaire results such as “…it was a very nice video!” and “I really
liked the editing” support this.
My audience members were all within the age range of my target audience
which I think allowed them to connect with and enjoy my product more. I
also think that since they were around my age this made them more open to
new things, so the use of a Japanese song performed by a Vocaloid didn’t
seem to turn them away.
I think the way my audience reacted individually depended on their taste in
music. It would have been more difficult for them to enjoy the music video if
they didn’t like the song, and I didn’t expected my audience to like the song
as much as they would have if it was a genre which is more popular in this
country. Nevertheless, I was surprised by my audience’s response to the
song as they liked it a lot more than I expected them to which I think played
a large role in their enjoyment of the product as a whole.

3. WHAT WAS SUCCESSFUL
ABOUT THE PRODUCT?
In general I think the product as a whole received a good response, but I
think in terms of success the genre that the video belongs to was more well
received. I didn’t expect even half as many people to accept, let alone enjoy,
the song that I chose to for my music video since it is completely different to
most of what is popular in this country.
The editing of my video was also well received and complimented, with
responses such as “the editing was effective and synced well with the
music” and “I liked the editing and the song the most!”.
This shows me that my music video was successful on more than one
aspect which again exceeded my expectations.

4. CONCLUSION OF RESULTS
In conclusion, after looking through my audience’s questionnaires and
seeing their responses first hand I can say that my product was a lot more
successful than I anticipated.
There were a number of parts about my video that people seemed to like, but
almost everyone that I presented my video to seemed to like the editing
most of all. This has showed me that it is vital to get the opinions of
members of a target audience to show you that different people have a huge
range of opinions.
This has taught me the importance of audience feedback in the media
industry, since it is the most important and valuable form of information
which is essential to help those in charge of a product cater to their
audience.
