• Generally geographic in nature
because it usually belongs to a
regional or local language.
• Level used in conversations with
classmates, visitors and teachers.
• Used in specific social groups like
teenagers or members of a certain
ethnic group.
• Expressions that are not part of the
standard language
• Level used when speaking with
people close to us.
• They provide a
sense of
identity to the
users.
• Both are
