Pinterest is a great Web 2.0 tool to use when wanting to learn lessons. You can also get
other ideas from users on Pinterest, along with having them comment on your ideas. The search
bar in Pinterest makes it easier to navigate between ideas, subject, and lessons. Also when
viewing certain topics in Pinterest, they always have the “top pinned” topic, or idea labeled first,
so navigated between good pins are really easy. You can also send pins, between friends making
it easier to share ideas and communicate amongst peers, or students. As a guy I was actually
dreading to use Pinterest, but after exploring it I recognized many of the benefits of it.One of the
biggest benefits of Pinterest is avoided social distractions. As it can be distracting, the lack of
being able to post statuses will keep students on task. Another huge benefit is the absence of
being able to share personal information. As the presence of personal information on that social
site non-existent, it makes it more appropriate with students. With the right restrictions I believe
Pinterest will be an amazing tool for students to use when wanting to do research. I look forward
to using it in my classroom in the future.
