WujiGrid is a collaboration tool for interactive live meetings and team collaboration. This presentation shows basic concepts and describes how to use it.
2. What is WujiGrid good for?
Work together in a group – a small group or a large group. It does not
matter.
Work as if you were sitting with your colleagues around the table in your
office or with your friends in your living room looking at the same papers.
This is true real-time collaboration.
You all look at the same document. Point to a specific picture in the
document and everyone sees what you are pointing at.
Discuss details, draw alternatives, make notes. The whole group can
participate.
3. What is the Space?
The Space is your shared working space. It is like a table in a company
conference room or a in your design studio. You can meet with your
colleagues, present your proposals and let them add their ideas.
You decide and control who is able to access the space and what they can
do. You can open the Space to specific people or set an access code for the
Space.
The space contains your data that you place to it –
documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and pictures.
4. What are the WujiGrid Apps?
The Apps are your tools that enable you to interact in a Space over your
documents.
You can add the Apps to your spaces, just like you add apps to your smart
phone.
The Document App allows you to open a document, flip its pages, use
pointers, add sticky notes, etc.
The Photo Album App allows you to add photos from different sources, add
captions and flip the pictures while you are showing them to a group of
people who are in your space.
5. What is the real-time collaboration?
It allows you to work with other people in a natural and efficient way.
Any changes that you make to an App are within a second visible to all other
people using the same App in the Space.
WujiGrid combines the changes made by several people at the same time
and irons out all glitches caused by their colliding actions.
Real time collaboration simplifies the tedious process “send a document –
wait for review – combine all proposals – send update – wait for
confirmation”. You just work together in a natural way.
WujiGrid improves efficiency and creativity of you work.
6. How can I communicate with other people in the
Space?
You can use any means you or your company is used to teleconferencing, Skype, Google Talk, Facebook chats. WujiGrid is a great
companion to your favorite communication tools.
We plan to add chat and voice connection of all people in the same Space in
the future.
7. How do I invite other people to a Space?
You have several choices depending to your needs:
If some has already a WujiGrid account they can access your space only after
they sign in. This way you can be sure who is accessing your space.
You can send an e-mail with an invitation to your friends and colleagues. The
invitation contains a link that provides access to your space. Each invitation
link is a specific to one person, so you can revoke access of this person any
time later.
You can generate a unique 9-digit code. Anyone, who knows the code can
access your space. You can also revoke the code later.
8. How can other people modify my Space?
People can have 3 different types of privileges in the space:
Administer – no restrictions. This is the person who has created the space.
Only the administrator can invite other people to the space or set the access
code. Each space has at least one administrator.
Contribute – this person can do anything except of inviting new
people, change their privileges and set the access code to the Space.
Read – this person can open the Apps, scroll the document or flip pages of
photo album, but cannot add new Apps, delete existing Apps in the
Space, add new photos to albums or modify the Space in any way.
9. How do I set permissions in my Spaces?
You must have Administer permission in the Space in order to be able to
modify permissions for other people.
Click
at the upper left corner of the space and then click the blue
“Advanced access setting” button. WujiGrid displays a page where you can
set permissions to each individual person who has access to the Space.
People who use the access code to enter the space get Read permissions.
10. What is the Space Quick Access Code?
The Quick Access Code is a 9-digit number that can be used to access a
space.
The space Administrator may set the code to a space and distribute the
code to anyone who should be able to enter the space. Anyone who knows
the code is able to enter the space.
The administrator can remote the code or generate a new one. In this case
the old code cannot be used anymore.
All people who entered a Space with the access code have Read permissions
in the Space.
11. How does the Document App work?
You can use the Document App with PDF, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS
Excel and JPEG files.
WujiGrid uploads the document to your Space and converts it to a specific
format suitable for displaying on the internet.
If somebody scrolls the document or flips the page, all connected people see
the new page. You all stay always on the same page. Nobody gets lost or
confused anymore.
You can not edit the document in WujiGrid, but you can draw on it and
attach sticky notes to it.
12. Can I or somebody else download a document
from WujiGrid?
No, nobody can download a document from WujiGrid.
So you can be sure the document you present to somebody in WujiGrid will
not leave WujiGrid.
The down site is, if you add long texts to sticky notes that you want to include
to a new version of the document, you must copy & paste them to the new
version.
However, if you would need this function, let us now, we can add it.
13. How does the Photo Album App work?
You can group your photos from different sources to albums. One WujiGrid
album can mix photos from your disk, from Pisaca, Facebook or Flickr.
If anyone flips the page then all people see the change. You all look always at
the same photo.
You can use remote pointers and the drawing tool to sketch on the pictures
while telling the others your story or details about your pictures.
14. What is the remote pointer?
Your mouse pointer that you use inside each WujiGrid App is visible to other
people who look at the same App.
Similarly, you can see their pointers.
The remote pointes allow you to point to certain information in your
document or pictures and give a hint to the others what you are talking
about.
The remote pointers also allow you to see what the others are doing in the
space.
15. Which languages are available?
Currently, there are 2 language versions available: English and Czech.
You can change your language version in the My Settings section.
More language versions will come. Please let us know which language you
miss most. We will give it higher priority.
16. How can I change my name, profile picture or
language preferences?
This is all in the My Settings section.
To open the My Settings section, go to the initial page with the sky and
clouds and click on your profile picture (or avatar) in the upper right corner.
You can load your profile picture from a file, from your account on Facebook
or in Google or take a picture with your built-in camera.
Use these controls
to set camera resolution and flip the picture, if it
appears up-side down.
