The United States has around 500,000 police officers and a total of 40,000 separate police forces, over half of which are simply one or two-man sheriffs’ offices in small towns. The founders did not want a police state. They knew that concentrating power in one police organization leads to tyranny. Many citizens believe that racial injustice is simply a part of police officers’ manner of operation. As such, in some areas, police agencies have lost their legitimacy. Legitimacy, according to Peak and Giacomazzi (2019), is the extent to which the community believes that police actions are appropriate, proper, and just. In considering all politics is local. Therefore, local policing is more in tune to the needs of the community they are tasked to police. Even Federal Police, such as US Capitol Police, ATF and Border Patrol, are constrained by their respective missions. Melissa Shortridge Week 6 COLLAPSE My own attitude has changed from lack of understanding to enlightenment over the years. In elementary school I never experienced students with disabilities in my classrooms, growing up. But as the years went on and legislation changed students with disabilities started trickling into general education classrooms. They were always ignored by other students and often times had an aide to assist them with assignments. As an adult my heart has opened up to accept all types of people. In the Pennhurst documentary, it was reiterated, they are just people (Baldini, 1968). Which is my outlook on how to treat everyone. Every single person is a human being, treat them the way you wish to be treated. Everyone no matter their race, disability or socio-economic status deserves to be treated humanely. As an educator I have worked with several different types of students. Students from low socio-economic areas, behavioral issues, vision impairments, hearing impairments, with autism, hyper activity and down syndrome, and with all of these students I have given them my best effort to show them that they are students first. Slavin and Schunk (2017) said it best, “Each student has many characteristics, and the disability is only one of them. To define the child in terms of the disability does him or her an injustice” (p. 235). It is our role as an educator to incorporate different learning styles to give each student, regardless of disabilities, the education that they deserve. Mediation Name AMU Date Mediation Recently, I had a dispute with a friend based on sharing of roles and duties at work. If I were to use a mediation to solve the conflict I would have used facilitative mediation instead of evaluative mediation. Facilitative mediation refers to the types of solving conflicts where the mediator creates a process to assist the parties in reaching into a mutual agreement. Evaluative mediation on the other hand refers to the type of mediation where the judge helps the parties in reaching into a resolution through using the weakness of the case (Shrout & Bolger, 2017). The nature of the dispute plays a very huge role when choosing the type of mediation style to use. Since some cases can not fit well or makes it hard to find a solution when using a certain mediation style. For instance work related disputes and family related disputes require mediation that won’t seem to favor one party. I would use transformative mediation, since it is mostly bases on improving the personal power of each party (Folberg & Taylor, 2016). Also transformative mediation mainly helps in creating a sense of understanding between the two parties through communication so as to solve the dispute. And lastly the reason why I would use the mediation is because; the process that is used does not favor one party. During the process, the mediator listens to both parties and from this he or she is able to help in making the two understand each other and be able to come into a mutual agreement. Program code examples (known also as worked examples) play a crucial role in learning how to program. Instructors use examples extensively to demonstrate the semantics of the programming language being taught and to highlight the fundamental coding patterns. Programming textbooks allocate considerable space to present and explain code examples. To make the process of studying code examples more interactive, CS education researchers developed a range of tools to engage students in the study of code examples. These tools include codecasts (codemotion,codecast,elicasts), interactive example explorers (WebEx, PCEX), and tutoring systems (DeepTutor). An important component in all types of worked examples is code explanations associated with specific code lines or code chunks of an example. The explanations connect examples with general programming knowledge explaining the role and function of code fragments or their behavior. In textbooks, these explanations are usually presented as comments in the code or as explanations on the margins. The example explorer tools allow students to examine these explanations interactively. Tutoring systems, which engage students in explaining the code, use these model explanations to check student responses and provide scaffolding. In all these cases, to make a worked example re-usable beyond its presentation in a lecture, the explanations have to be authored by instructors or domain experts i.e., produced and integrated into a specific system. As the experience of the last 10 years demonstrated, these explanations are hard to obtain. Those already collected are usually “locked” in a specific example-focused system and can’t be reused. The purpose of this working group is to support broader re-used of worked examples augmented with explanations. Our current plan is to develop а standard approach to represent explained examples. This approach will enable an example created for any of the existing systems to be explored in a standard format and imported into any other example-focused system. We plan to follow a successful experience of the PEML working group focused on re-using programming exercises.

(A MINIMUM OF 100 WORDS or MORE) CLASSMATE’S POST There is not a national police force in the America, where policing is organized in every state according to the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) on a local and state basis. Having one National Police Force would not work or be beneficial to the citizens because every state is, and city is different and unique. The United States has around 500,000 police officers and a total of 40,000 separate police forces, over half of which are simply one or two-man sheriffs’ offices in small towns. The founders did not want a police state. They knew that concentrating power in one police organization leads to tyranny. Many citizens believe that racial injustice is simply a part of police officers’ manner of operation. As such, in some areas, police agencies have lost their legitimacy. Legitimacy, according to Peak and Giacomazzi (2019), is the extent to which the community believes that police actions are appropriate, proper, and just. In considering all politics is local. Therefore, local policing is more in tune to the needs of the community they are tasked to police. Even Federal Police, such as US Capitol Police, ATF and Border Patrol, are constrained by their respective missions. America it is NOT a single nation, but a Union of 50 different ‘nations,’ or states that came collectively to make a small principal government for the collective protections of local citizens. Each U.S. State is unique, it has its own unique laws,

2. justice system, and law enforcement agencies. The federal law enforcement agencies (like the FBI) are brought in for cases where a criminal has committed crimes in more than one State, or has committed crimes in federal jurisdiction for example, on a federal military installation, located within a specific U.S. State. Police Chiefs and executives are now becoming much more heavily involved in what is constitutional policing which is a cornerstone of community policing and the efforts of problems solving (Peak, & Giacomazzi, 2019). Therefore, a national Police Force will create more problem and is not necessary. It’s against the political philosophy of America. The longtime director J. Edgar Hoover, Director of the FBI was watchful in preventing any effort to turn the FBI into a form of national police force. The FBI is an INVESTIGATIVE agency. It would invest too much power into a single agency. The U.S. prefers multiple agencies, both federal and state and local, to respond to specific law enforcement needs. References Peak, K.
