In
AS & A2

What is post production?
 Post production refers to the final stages of a production, in this
instance a radio drama. This often occurs after the production as
been recorded and revised and this is where you make your edits or
add additional soundtracks in order to make improvements to your
production.
How important post production skills were?
 Post production skills were very essential as it enabled us to develop a
simple piece of footage and turn it to something creative.
Post production in AS
 Post production at AS consisted of us filming a short film
sequence for our main task. After the final filming, we had to put
everything together and we did this by using a software called
Sony Vegas Pro, which allowed us to put titles onto the
production
Post Production in A2
At the stage of A2 post production, we used more advanced software and
technology compared to AS. Examples of advanced software that we used
in A2 were:
 Audacity: which helped us record the voices for our radio drama and
produce the final piece. We were also able to import downloaded sounds
from ‘Free Sound’ into our radio drama for effect.
 Blogs: we designed a blog which was like a diary, that helped us keep track
of what was needed to be done
Continued…
 Sound cloud which was were we converted our
radio drama into MP3
 Free sound which was were we had obtained our
free sounds from which were shared by the public
 Lightroom, Prezi & Podcasts which are other forms
of presentation software which we used to answer
our evaluation questions on the final piece of our
radio dramas. This included all 5 of the skills
evaluation of production
 Camera which was used to take pictures during the
making of the radio drama.
One of the most important
software's that we used
was audacity. This was
where we recorded our
actors voices. In addition,
we were able to change
their voices from making it
deeper, to fading it out by
adding effects. This piece
of editing was important as
it made out radio drama
sound more lively as the
audience cannot physically
see the radio drama. This
also helped us produce our
final piece.
Audacity
Audience Feedback
 Audience feedback is also important as they highlighted the good
point of our radio drama such as finding interest in the main
character ‘Arcas’
 However, the audience feedback also allowed us too see on what
improvements we could make to our radio drama such as making
the sound levels sound even
This is audience
feedback from my A2
radio drama. The
comments where very
useful as it would help
my group improve in the
future if we ever deiced
to write another radio
drama
Here is another example of audience
feedback from our media teacher, After
sir had listened over to our first draft of
our radio drama. he gave us feedback.
This was useful as it helped us to
improve our radio drama by taking
further steps to edit it again to produce
our final piece
What effect did post production skills have on
your final work
 Post production skills had an effect on our final work because factors such
as audience feedback helped us to make improvements to our radio drama
so that the outcome of the final piece sounds much better
How did post production skills benefit you?
 The post production skills benefited us greatly as it allowed us to gain and
learn new skills, as well as using the ones that we had from our AS
productions. Moreover, we used new and challenging software's which
helped us come to the final stages of our production.
Conclusion
 Throughout both our AS & A2 productions, our post production skills have
developed hugely and has enabled us to take a simple piece of footage and
turn it into something complex and creative, despite beginning with not
listening to a radio drama, to creating our own.
