3. After Imam Husayn (as) was killed, yazid’s commander Umar Ibn Saad, ordered his
soldiers to burn the tents and loot all the possessions of the Ahl al Bayt

Karbala were made to journey 750 miles to Yazid’s palace.
Imam Zainul Abedin was chained and whipped, Bibi Sakina was slapped and the women were

Yazid, sees that the people he invited are realizing the truth, imprisoned the ahlulBayt in a
room without any roof, which had no shelter from the extreme heat in the day and bitter
cold at night- Bibi Sakina Passes away here
The captives of karbala enter Damascus (shaam) on 1st Safar
Imam al-Sajjad (s) and bibi Zaynab (s) see that the people of Damascus are all brainwashed by Muawia and Yazid,
do not know anything about the real Islam and the status of AhlulBayt they give speeches to enlighten the
people about the truth and the tyranny of Yazid.
The Family of Rasulallah witness Yazid disrespecting the head of Imam Hussain (s) while
he is drinking alcohol
Yazid orders the city and his palace to be decorated and invites all the important people
and ambassadors to come to his palace and see the captives
The family of Rasulallah (s) are brought into the palace while they are tied to each other by ropes

14. Yazid is forced to free the family of Rasulallah
after pressure from the people, who now know
the truth
The family of Rasulallah are finally freed.

16. MUKHTAR-the one who avenged karbala
Mukhtar was known for his bravery
and love of Ahl al Bayt
Muslim ibn Akil stayed in Mukhtar’s
house in Kufa
He was imprisoned by Ibn Ziyad
before he could join Imam Hussein
in Karbala
After he was
released
Mukhtar started a
movement to bring
the killers imam
Hussein to justice.
Mukhtar captured the main criminals of
Karbala. He questioned and recorded
heir actions on Ashura and after.
