2. Our Skin- A blessing of Allah
The skin is the largest human body organ and even
rebuilds itself. The skin is constantly removing old
cells and replacing them with brand-new cells. Every
minute of the day we lose about 30,000 to 40,000
dead skin cells from the surface of our skin.
The skin is the organ which allows us to have a sense
of touch and helps to keep our body at just the right
temperature. It is tough, waterproof and covers
everything inside the body.
3. 4D08 – MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS OF IMAM
ZAYN AL – ABIDIN (as)
These duas were compiled into a book called al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyah and the Imam
gave them to his sons Imam Baqir (as) and Zayd (as)
Imām Zayn al-ʿAbidīn (as)
was not able to give lectures
in public due to the political
situation at the time,
Also people had lost interest
in the rules of religion. So
the imam taught his
followers the teachings of
Islam through Duas
4. Dua in times of Sickness
Imam is teaching us to Thank Allah both
in times of good health and in time of
illness
Imam says that illness could be a way to
decreasing sins and purification from evil
deeds we may have committed
Imam asks for forgiveness and good health
O Allah, to You belongs praise
for the good health of my body
which lets me move about, and to
You belongs praise, for the
diseases which You cause to arise
in my flesh!
or the time of illness
through which you tested me and
granted upon me favours:
easing of the sins
that weigh down my back,
purification of the evil deeds
into which I have committed.
appoint for me
a way out from my illness to your
forgiveness,
5. Imam Zainul Abideen (as), has taught us his duas in
Sahifa - e - Sajjadiya, that they should not ask their wishes to
anyone except Allah.
Imam tells us to
rely only on
Allah and no one
else as no one
but Allah has the
capability and
generosity to
fulfil our
wishes.
“Praise to Allah to Whom I ask my
wishes and not to anybody else other
than Him, and if I were to address
other than Him I will be
disappointed in my supplication.
Praise be to Allah to whom I turn in
hope and not anyone other than
Him, and if I were to turn in hope to
anyone other than Him, shattered
will be my hopes.
6. Imam is asking Allah to bring down
Gushes of rain water, and through this Dua teaches us how this rain water
will benefit us in many ways directly and indirectly
Rain water to come down from mountains with enough force
Which will Fill wells Make the rivers Flow ,Which will distribute water to
the Growing of plants and trees And the abundance of crops will
decrease in prices of supplies, especially food
The water from the rain gives life to creatures including animals, who will
benefit us
O Allah, give us water with a watering through
which You will make the stone hills pour,
filling the reservoirs, make the rivers full,
make the trees grow,
bring down prices in all the lands,
enliven the beasts and the creatures, perfect for
us the agreeable things of provision,
make grow for us the fields,
let flow for us the milk from animals
and add for us strength to our strength!
Dua for Rain
7. The Whispered prayers
The Whispered prayers, is a collection of 15 personal conversations with Allah called
Munajat means having a secret one to one conversation.
Call on your Lord humbly and secretly; surely He does not love those who exceed the
limits. (7:55)
The Whispered prayer of the complainers
Complains to God of the obstacles that obstruct a believer’s journey to God. In this prayer the
Imam complains of three things:
1) The Nafs
2) The Shaytan
3) A hard heart
8. Whispered prayers of the thankful
My God,
The uninterrupted flow of your kind favors has led me to be distracted from
expressing my thanks to you!
• The overflowing flood of your blessings has made me incapable of counting
your praises
• The series of kind acts, one after the other , has diverted me from
mentioning all your praises!.....
• This is the situation of one who gets the abundance of your favors, but
responds with nothing but faults,
• And is a witness to his own forgetfulness and carelessness.
We get distracted
and forget to thank
Allah for his blessings
Countless blessings
from Allah
Allah is so merciful to us.
He blesses one kindness
after another
Allah favors us with so many
blessings , but we reply with sins
and disobedience
We forget and do
not care
9. Imam Zainul Abedin (as) also wrote another book called Risalat Al Huquq
The Right of the Hands
Imām listed the rights of Allāh (SWT) and the rights
of other people on every Muslim. For example,
the rights of parents,
the rights of neighbors,
the rights of friends,
the rights of your body, and so on. This
beautiful document is called the Risālat al-Huqūq
And the right of your hand is to
withhold them from engaging
what is forbidden to you.
Honor your hands by
withholding them from
engaging in forbidden
deeds and employing them
in righteous deeds.
10. And the right of the
tongue is that you
consider it too honorable
for rudeness, use it to
talk good, direct it to
politeness,
11. “The Right Of The Ears Is To
Keep Them Pure From
Listening To Backbiting, And
From That Which Is Unlawful
To Listen To.”
And the right of your legs is that you
walk not with them toward that which
is unlawful for you.
HARAM
“On the Day when their tongues, their hands, and their feet
will bear witness against them as to their actions.” [The Holy
Qur’an, al-Nur 24:24]
