The kidneys filter waste from the blood and each kidney contains millions of tubes called nephrons that clean the blood.
When doing good deeds like praying, fasting, and giving charity, the goal should be to please Allah alone, not other people. A person with "riya" or showing off does things only to impress others, while a person with sincerity ("ikhlas") does good only for Allah's pleasure.
The story describes Imam Ali, Bibi Fatima, their children Hasan and Husayn, and their helper Lady Fidha fasting after making a promise when the children recovered from illness. On each of the three days of fasting, they gave away their only food to a
1. Blessing of Allah on us
Allah has blessed us with Kidneys. They are like
washing machines for the blood in the body. The
kidneys filter the blood and take out all the waste in the
blood.

Doing good deeds
Praying, fasting, and giving charity are all
performed to clean the soul of diseases like
greed and pride, and to get closer to Allah.
7. AN EXAMPLE OF DOING GOOD FOR ALLAH
When Imam Hasan(as) and Imam Husayn (as) were
young, they became very sick.
Imam Ali (as) and bibi Fatimah(as), prayed to Allah (swt) for
them and made a promise to fast if they became well.
The children recovered soon after. Imam Ali (as) and Bibi
Fatimah(as), and their helper, Lady Fidha, decided to fulfill
their promise.
Imam Hasan(as) and Imam Husayn (as) Also asked to
join in the fast

SOME OF THE BARLEY
AND BAKED BREAD
WHICH WAS JUST
ENOUGH FOR 3 DAYS
FOR IFTAR
9. The family and lady Fidha fasted their first day, and as
they were about to break their fast on the small
amount of bread they had, there was a knock on their
door.

said he was
• Without hesitation, the
family gave up the little
they had to the needy
man, and slept that night
having only had water to
break their fast.
• And with this they began
their second day of
fasting.
DAY 1
11. DAY 2
As they were about to break their fast
on day two, they heard a knock on the
door. It was an orphan who stood
outside their door, begging for food.
Just like the night before, the family
gave up their bread and broke their fast
on water alone.
I am hungry. Please feed
me?
12. On the third and
final fasting day,
someone knocked
on the holy family’s
door. It was a
(recently released,)
prisoner who, also
pleaded for food.
Once again, the
family gave up all
they had.
DAY 3
Please
help me!
13. Allah loved their action so much, that he revealed verses
(Al-Insaan 7-10)in their honor
(7)They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be
widespread.
(8) And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the
captive,
(9) Saying We only feed you for God’s sake; we desire from you neither reward nor
thanks
(10)We fear from our Lord a horribly distressful Day.”
14. They had given all their food out of love for God and
fear of a day when they will be asked about what
they did when someone begged at their door for
help.
They could have rejected the needy because they had
very little food. They all wanted to participate in
pleasing Allah
They made no excuses.
They did not refuse anyone who came asking for food.
They only thought about what is most pleasing to Allah
