  2. 2. The Seven Principles of Public Life Applied to Pharma Leaders - 1 1. Selflessness - Pharma Leaders should act solely in the interest of patients. Their responsibility to the ailing public must override all other interests 2. Integrity - Pharma Leaders should not offer any financial or other obligations to medical professionals, which might influence them to prescribe their products 3. Objectivity - Pharma Leaders should promote their brands based on the best available independent scientific evidence. Should not market irrational FDCs
  3. 3. The Seven Principles of Public Life Applied to Pharma Leaders -2 4. Accountability - Pharma Leaders are accountable for their brand promotional activities. They must submit themselves to external audit to assure integrity, objectivity, and honesty in marketing practices 5. Openness - Pharma Leaders must be as open as possible about adverse drug reactions, drug-drug interactions of their products
  4. 4. The Seven Principles of Public Life Applied to Pharma Leaders -3 6. Honesty - Pharma Leaders have a duty to declare and publish negative outcomes of their products as seen during pharmacovigilance. They should take steps to disclose any conflicts arising, in a way that protects the patient interest 7. Leadership - Pharma Leaders should promote Good Marketing Practices (GMaP) and support these moral principles through leadership and example
