1. Evaluation
Egypt:
This particular design inhabits an image in the background that is highly relevant
to the specified theme, and is useful, as the audience will pick up on this and
recognise the link between the card and the country (Egypt = pyramids). Even
though this has adhered to a ‘stereotype’, it makes the card itself easier to
identify, and the symbolism featured will reflect the content that is displayed
upon the card itself. On the contrary, this specific card could include some
Egyptian writing, as then it would make the card more relevant to the stated
theme, and will also make the content of the card highly interesting for the target
audience, who will want to explore the culture behind the featured recipe.
Africa:
It is notable that the imagery featured upon this specific card is eye-catching,
with the flag in the top right-hand corner being prevalent, with its bright colours,
which are sure to attract the eye of the stated viewer. The vibrant colour scheme
is most prominent, but the text is also bold, which will also appeal to the target
audience, who will want to be able to read the text without any difficulty. On the
other hand, the content section on this card is rather bare, and will need to be
adjusted and altered in order for it to be produced on a large scale.
Turkey:
The text utilised for this specific card is good due to the fact that it is bold, large,
and outlined, which will make the whole of the content easy to read for the
intended audience, who may dislike small, printed text, as it will be significantly
difficult to read. However, the images featured upon the card itself could be
altered, as they may be viewed as unrepresentative of the stated theme, but they
still hold some level of relevance, due to the iconic symbol of the country
(Turkey) being displayed through the title section of the recipe card.
China:
The positives of this specific card are that the images featured are highly relevant
to that of the stated country (China), with the cherry blossom tree, which is
symbolic of the country, as well as the flag. The audience will notice these
references, and will then be able to identify the stated recipe with that of the
overall theme (worldwide). The colours are vibrant, which will catch the eye of
the viewer, and they are also relevant to the country itself. However, the text,
which is featured upon the particular draft recipe card design, is not entirely
suitable, as it is not particularly eye-catching for the intended audience, so it
would have to be enlarged in the final design.

2. Italy:
The layout for this particular recipe card is set out well, with a good structure, in
which the target audience can follow, as it is simple yet professional, which will
make it popular amongst the primary, as well as the secondary target audience
of the recipe card. However, there should be a range of colours utilised within
the actual recipe card, as it is rather bland at the moment, so in order to catch the
attention of the audience, the pastel colours will have to be swapped for more
vibrant ones.
Greece:
It is notable that the design featured upon this specific recipe card is highly
decorative, and the imagery stands out significantly so that the audience can
immediately recognise the country that is featured upon the recipe card. A
disadvantage of this recipe card would have to be that this card doesn’t contain a
lot of colour on it, which may not catch a lot of attention, and will therefore be an
anomaly amongst the other stated recipe cards, which contain a high abundance
of vibrant colours.
France:
The imagery featured upon this recipe card is not as imaginative as it could have
been; therefore, it needs to be altered for the future, so that it can appeal to the
primary target audience, as well as the secondary, due to the fact that the image
provided is not necessarily linked to the specific country. On the other hand, the
colour scheme that is featured on this recipe card is very bright, and will
therefore catch the attention of the audience, and will also make the recipe card
itself appear more professional, vibrant, as well as sophisticated.
Belgium:
The bright colours on the card catch the attention of the intended target
audience. Also, the card has been set out in a formal template, which reinstates
the sophistication stated by the theme of the recipe cards. We decided to include
something relative to the country, so we drew the Atomium, which is a tourist
spot in Belgium, and is symbolic of the actual country itself, therefore it has a
sense of relevance, in which the audience will be able to pick up upon in a simple
manner. On the contrary, the imagery presented upon the recipe card could be
altered due to the fact that it does not really represent the country, so it could be
changed to a Belgian chocolate cake for example, as that dessert is symbolic of
that specific country (Belgium).
