1. Proposal Sheet
Content Outline:
The theme in which we are going to utilise for our recipe cards is based upon a
‘worldwide’ platform, where recipes that are traditional of a selection of various countries,
are featured within each recipe card. It is notable that the recipes which will be
broadcasted upon these cards will be a variety of savoury dishes, as well as sweet ones,
which will create an even amount of main and dessert-based dishes.
The ‘worldwide’ theme includes the countries: Greece, Turkey, France, China, Belgium,
Kenya, Italy, as well as Egypt. Each dessert or main dish will be traditional of the
specified country, and will have a significant relevance to the thematic elements which
are associated with that country, as an example, for Egypt, the ‘pyramids’ are linked to
the country itself. Also, with utilising this type of ‘stereotype’ in a sense, as individuals in
the secondary target audience (10-16) will be able to comprehend the recipe more, as
the thematic symbols of the country will be easily identifiable in the eyes of this specific
audience.
Target Audience:
The primary target audience for this specific set of recipe cards are middle-class women
between the ages of 26-40, who are likely to be parents, who will want to cook food
healthy food for their children, as opposed to junk food, so they would view these
vegetarian recipes, and select the recipes in which they want to cook. However, even
though some of the desserts, such as chocolate cake, are not technically ‘healthy’, the
ingredients listed will be of the highest ethical standing, with ‘free range’ eggs being
utilised as a primary ingredient, which will ensure the primary target audience that they
are not contradicting their beliefs whilst carrying out these particular ‘worldwide’ recipes.
Resources:
It is notable that through creating these particular recipe cards, we will be utilising a high
abundance of resources in order to enhance our learning, as well as make the stated
recipe cards appear as professional as possible. In order to create the eight, individual
recipe cards, we will have to use Photoshop to edit our images, as it will give them a
more sophisticated edge, which will appeal to the target audience, who expect an
elevated level of class, which will be reflected within the recipe cards themselves.
Also, we hope to use A5 card to present our recipe cards upon, as we believe this is a
good size, as the audience will be able to comprehend the text featured upon the cards,
as opposed to struggling to read a section of text on a smaller card, which is likely to be
difficult if the candidate has a mild/premature form of visual impairment. Also, in order to
gain a sufficient font style, we will have to search through various websites so that we
can find a style that suits the theme of our recipes cards specifically, as if it has no
correlation with our theme, the primary, as well as the secondary target audience will
struggle to relate to it, which will hinder our success in creating a set of recipe cards that
are relevant to the needs of the stated audience.
Furthermore, we will be using laminating sheets for each of our individual recipe cards
due to the fact that it makes them more durable, which will inevitably make them less
fragile, and they can then be used repeatedly, which makes them highly convenient for
the target audience, who will use these recipes on a regular basis for their children.
