2. Here I opened a new A4 page on Photoshop CS5. I then went onto the internet and downloaded the font I wanted from http://www.1001freefonts.com/ I then used this font to rite the title in and made my mast head. Using the gradient tool to create the gray and white background . I also importing a picture of a brocade to help the magazine seem more realistic.
3. I then opened up my chosen image in Photoshop and used the polygon lasso tool to cut around my image, whilst cutting round it I also set the feather tool to two this would ensure did not get any sharp line and my photo would be cut out neatly. I chose to use the polygon lasso tool as it is more precise than the magnetic lasso tool which restricts the chaps. that can be made. While cutting around the image I also zoomed in to insure I was not including any of the shadow or blur that may be present the zoom also helped me to get a more clear and precise cut.
4. After cutting out the image I pasted it onto my front cover and placed it in the centre after resizing it. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast of the picture to help it stand out more, but also to correct any in balances.
5. After adjusting the brightness and contrast of the image I then went on to create a shadow behind my image and to outline my image, this will also make the picture stand out more and follow some conventions. This is that it looks like after the shadow has been placed. I have also now cut out the white edges around the barcode using the magic wand tool as it removes white spaces quickly and easily.
6. I then added sell lines around the key image where the main buz woards are hilighted in red to help attract audiences. I also added key features such as the date a website address a price and a issue date
