5. • Plastic is used in our day to day life . From day to night ,
plastic is used by us . It is used to make many objects like
chairs , toys , tables , bottles , container , packing materials ,
polythene bags etc . It has many advantages but it also has
many disadvantages .
6. • The plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic products in the
environment that adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat and
humans.
• In another words , Plastic pollution is the introduction of plastic
products into the environment which then upset the existing
ecosystems in different ways.
• Plastic pollution is one of the serious problems in the earth. It has a lot
of negative impacts on the environment.
• It causes all 3 pollution : air pollution , land pollution & water pollution
7. Land Pollution
• Plastic is a NON-BIODEGERABLE material . It
means that it does not decompose in soil or take
very long time to decompose.
• It is believed that plastic takes hundreds or even
thousands of years to decompose in soil.
8. Air pollution
Burning of plastic in the open air, leads to
environmental pollution due to the release of
poisonous chemicals. The polluted air when
inhaled by humans and animals affect their
health and can cause respiratory diseases.
9. • When plastic bags , cans , litters etc are thrown in water bodies , it causes
water pollution .
• It effects the life of aquatic plants and animals .
• Contaminated water can cause many types of diarrheal diseases,
including Cholera, and other serious illnesses such as Guinea worm
disease, Typhoid, and Dysentery. Water related diseases cause 3.4 million
deaths each year.

animals
• Tens of thousands of whales, birds, seals
turtles and stray animals like cow are killed
every year from plastic bags .
11. SIMPLE STEPS TO AVOID PLASTIC:-
• 1. Avoid buying items packaged in
plastic.
• 2. Use cloth shopping bags.
• 3. Skip bottled water.
• 4. Bring a reusable mug when you
order coffee.
• 5. Wear clothing made from natural
(not synthetic) materials.
• 6. Don't just discard electronics.
