6. Howard County Fair Swine Project
• Costs: $15.00 per pig (non-refundable)
• This Fee will cover the feed, electricity, building costs, tags,YSQA
• You are eligible for ribbon auction
• Pigs will be chose by the FFA/4-H members by a lottery system
• Registration is at the ISU Extension Office
• Requirements:
• Must be a 4-H or FFA member.
• All students eligible that are in grades 4th thru 12th
• 1 hr per week minimum animal time
• Must attend at last 4 of the 6 Educational Activities
• 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult

With the new facility, kids have access to show at the fair regardless of where the live in the community.
Kids who live in town can now rent their pigs from local producers to be raised in the facility starting in March of each year. These pigs are all judged in the same class referred to as Commercial Class
Kids who live on a farm and want to bring their own pigs can do so and are judged in a separate class referred to Home Raised Class.
All Kids who decide to raise pigs in the commercial class have to attend 4 out of 6 educational activities.
