The amount of insulation an object has will affect the amount of light it will absorb and the amount of thermal
heat conduction an object will reflect. (Lee H., 2011). Thermal heat conduction is the transfer of internal energy,
which is due to different temperature rates. The color of an object doesn't affect insulation. Insulation is usually
the opposite of colors being absorbed and reflected against light. Instead, insulation will only affect an object's
color depending on the temperature the object is being pressured by. For example, if an object has a dark color
and there is a high temperature being pressured onto the dark object, the object will insulate heat inside. If the
dark object was being pressured by a lower temperature the object would not insulate heat inside of the object
because dark colors only insulate high temperatures (The University of

The Energy Content Of Solar
SOLAR PONDS
1. INTRODUCTION The energy content of solar radiation can be used as light, heat and electricity. This
diversity means that solar power is an option different power systems important food worldwide. In fact, interest
in solar power systems has been increasing in recent years worldwide. This interest to several factors, such as
environmental awareness, effort should be to minimize the dependence on non –renewable fossil fuels countries
and international agreements that require the reduction of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere of the earth. Heat
storage technologies, systems and applications are studied in the field of solar energy. One way to collect and
store solar energy by using solar ponds can be used to provide thermal energy for various applications, such as
process and space heating, water desalination, refrigeration, drying and power generation. Thermal energy
storage has always been the most important energy storage option. Solar ponds are a classic application of
thermal energy storage and efficiency essentially depends on the storage capacity of the fluid, Thermo physical
properties of pond conditions and surroundings. Recently, attention has been paid to friendly sources to the
environment, sustainable energy, such as solar energy. In this respect, solar ponds seem to be a potential for the
application method. In this respect, solar ponds seem to be a potential for the application method.

Energy Content of Fuels Investigation Lab Report
Fuels Investigation Aim: To find out which fuel gives out the most energy. Planning
We will be using 6 different fuels to heat up 100ml of water, and find out the changes of the temperature. We
will measure the temperatures of the water before and after the experiment. We will burn heat the water for
exactly 2 minutes, and check the changes in temperature. The change in temperature will allow us to work out
the energy given off the fuel by using this formula: Mass of water x 4.2 (water's specific heat capacity) x
temperature change = energy transferred from the fuel to the water When the fuels are burnt, energy is given off.
I will be calculating the energy given off using the formula above. The specific heat capacity is the energy ...

Adenosine binds onto receptors on the brain cells, which causes people to feel the tiredness and laziness;
however, because the two molecules are very similar, caffeine too is able to block the receptors. The excess
adenosine is converted into adrenaline which most people are used to experiencing when drinking coffee, a
sense of alertness and energy for about 4 – 6 hours. It also helps the natural stimulants work better, so, in a way,
caffeine is a stimulant for stimulants. All of this information culminates in the fact that these stimulants that are
activated due to the caffeine are what cause the heart to beat rapidly, either too fast for the daphnia to survive, or
just enough that they are more active, like humans are when ingesting caffeine. Caffeine also causes hunger as

The customers, when they are talking with the newly appointed trainees always ended up with frustration and
there is no stratification. By analyzing and observing the issues and service, Matt came to know that the
company is not giving 100 percent commitment to the customers. After identifying the mistake, Matt gave some
ideas to Joel McGivern, the CIO of Datatronics. Joel also agreed with the matt ideas and also he has planned to
take matt ideas in to the steering committee for additional funding, (Smith, 2013). Specific Information to build
a better customer service
1. Recent survey found that only 34 percent of customer service companies use latest technology for customer
service management. On the other hand 66 percent of companies using notebooks, papers, and useless notes. In
order to succeed, we must have proper tool to execute it. So, matt has to collect information about Datatronics
CRM and he has to find out whether the staffs are using CRM properly.
2. Matt has to collect information about "How much efforts does a customer have to produce to do business with
the company?". Because the way of communication should be easy and understandable. Otherwise, he has to
look for some other way to communicate

Construction Of Roads For Black Cotton Soil
INTRODUCTION :
Construction of roads in black cotton soil areas has been problematic due to their low bearing capacity and the
detrimental effects of volume instability arising from swelling and shrinkage characteristics of such soils during
wet and dry seasons.
Such problems assume greater acuteness where the water table is high and clayey subsoil stratum is thick.
A Perfect example of a case history study can be considered from "Gudivada–Bantumilli" State Highway, which
passes through a plain terrain surrounded with paddy fields, and constructed on a black cotton soil embankment
of 3mts height. The entire stretch of the road is located in the delta region of Godavari and Krishna rivers, of the
south eastern part of India. The pavement on the embankment was in a state of extreme distress. Lateral shift
and settlement in embankment were the common soil failure features observed. TWO METHODOLOGIES
USING LIME :
Method 1 – Injection of Lime Slurry
Method 2 – Placement of Lime Piles
Method 1 : To verify the efficacy of the technique, laboratory experiments were conducted at "Central Road
Research Institute –
India" on a test embankment of 2.5m x 2.0m x 2.5m made from the locally available silty soil having a dry
density of 16 kN/m2. Lime slurry was injected in one side of the embankment. The injected lime contained 30%
lime by weight in the mixture of lime–water.

Plant Water Stress Is A Major Factor Affecting Crop Yield
Plant water stress is a major factor affecting crop yield. With the ever–increasing human population, there is a
constant stress exerted on water resources (McGwire et al., 2000). So irrigation to avoid or relieve this stress
must be done judiciously, not only to avoid environmental problems such as groundwater pollution and runoff,
but also to keep the cost down on a limited and expensive resource. Soil moisture sensors are often used for
precision irrigation control purposes. However, soil moisture sensors can only assess the degree of water deficit
stress that is imposed to the plants, but not necessarily the level of water deficit stress that is actually
experienced by the plants (Sinclair and Ludlow, 1985). An assessment of leaf water content, on the other hand,
may yield more detailed insight into the plant's actual physiological response to a certain degree of low soil
moisture content, and how water deficit stress is in fact experienced by the plant. Leaf water content is a key
indicator of plant health, vigor and photosynthetic efficiency (Harry, 2006). Accurate retrieval of plant water
content plays a crucial role in assessing drought risk (Bauer et al., 1986), select genotypes in breeding for water
stress (Munjal and Dhanda, 2005), predicting wildfire and monitoring the physiological condition of vegetation
(Peñuelas and Filella, 1998) and biomass (Cho et al., 2007; Mutanga et al., 2005; Ullah et al., 2012c), while in
the agriculture domain it helps in scheduling

Abstract: Agriculture uses 85% of available freshwater resources worldwide and this percentage will continue to
be dominant in water consumption because of population growth and increased food demand. In India
agriculture, primarily depends on the monsoon, which is not a sufficient source of water. So irrigation is
employed in the agriculture area. This paper targets to offer a cloud based drip irrigation system to aid the
farmers. The proposed system uses a microcontroller, sensors, and a cloud server to provide real time network
with field over a Wi–Fi network. The proposed system aims to conserve water up to a large extent by providing
automatic and manual modes of irrigation. The system can be monitored by the user on an android application.

1. Introduction
Drip irrigation is an artificial technique of providing water to the roots of the plant. It is also called micro
irrigation. An automated irrigation system is proposed in order to facilitate efficient irrigation where water and
labour scarcity conditions prevail. For high reliability, robustness and limited resources, resistive sensors are
chosen.

Social Media Essay
Social media began in a humble way in 1997. Today, social media gives us the news, helps us find marriage
partners, let's us instantly communicate around the world. It helps us find jobs, market our products without
ever leaving our home or workplace. Today, thanks to social media, the world is truly at our fingertips. Social
media is not always about talking to friends or family, but it is also about internet advertising and marketing,
which the media loves to do. Internet marketing, occurs when you buy items using "apps" on your phone. Some
"non–internet digital channels" can be used to purchase items as well. Items can be purchased simply by calling

Where do we find the people we wish to reach? How do we enter the conversation with them at an appropriate
time? How do we earn the customers trust? How can we be useful to them? How do they ask their customers on
suggestions for selling their product? All of these questions help marketing strategies to define their strategy on
social media. The purpose of a business company is to provide a wide range of services focusing on different
aspects of the visual arts. The layout and design of the website is vital to the success of online marketing. It is
all too familiar to many of us to visit poorly designed websites. They appear disorganized and ill–planned.
Visitors can't wait to leave to find clear and easy navigable sites that welcome users and make the web
experience enjoyable and ultimately profitable for the company. There have been many studies done to
determine the key components of a successful business website. One study, published in Business Source
Premier conducted statistical tests to determine if there was a difference in website preference between Asian
cultures and white–American culture. The purpose of the study was to determine if web design was sensitive to
differences in culture. The results of the study were not too surprising. Basically, Asian culture and traditional
business culture is paternalistic and focuses on business models which are hierarchical or top–down in nature.

Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems
Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent and severe droughts due to
climate change has stimulated research into water–saving irrigation strategies aiming at producing more 'crop
per drop' (Morison et al., 2008). The trend in recent years has been towards conversion of surface irrigation to
drip irrigation to improve water use efficiency, plant quality and, crop yield. Drip irrigation systems have
increasingly been used to supply irrigation water, fertilizers, and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field
crops, and fruit trees due to their ability to enable highly localized application of water and nutrients to crops
(Kandelous et al., 2011; Selim et al., 2013). Drip systems can achieve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Saito and Kitahara (2012) used ground penetration radar to predict the changes in water content under
subsurface drip irrigation. Studies also used disturbed soil samples by gravimetric method (Al–Mefleh and
Abu–Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al., 2015) and point based soil water sensors such as TDR (da Silva et al., 2009;
dos Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (Fernández–Gálvez and Simmonds, 2006) to estimate SWC
variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have investigated two dimensional (2D) wetting patterns
changes while three dimensional (3D) wetting patterns could provide more insights into the changes of wetted
radius and depth under drip irrigation. This is due to the fact that spatial variations in soil properties induce
spatial variations in water distribution patterns between drippers (Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements
to detect wetted soil volumes around drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number of
measurement points distributed vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor variations in wetting
patterns which is laborious and time–consuming and practically infeasible sometimes if point based sensors
used. Therefore, it is necessary to explore alternative soil water sensing techniques which could provide
spatially dense measurements at small to field scales.
Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) systems are optoelectronic devices which

Jude Furniss, president of the Surf Rider Foundation Manly, states that "it is raising awareness of plastic
pollution." Conclusion: Climate change is proving to have a severe negative impact on our coastlines. Manly
Beach is a very precious beach to Australians because of its physical, environmental, cultural, social and
economic values. The NSW government and the local council are now acting to protect Manly Beach from
further coastal erosion. If no action is taken, we may lose our beach totally and that would be disastrous to the
people, the land and the ecosystem. Beach nourishment is one way of replenishing our beach. However, more
need to be done, such as habitat protection and refurbishment projects to restore the health of our coastal
ecosystems. This requires planning, funding and time. Bibliography Legislation.nsw.gov.au. (2018). NSW

Energy Content Of A Food Sample
Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment is to measure the energy content of a food sample and to determine the
efficiency of a calorimeter.
Materials:
1. 100 ml distilled water
2. A test tube
3. 1 almond
4. Calorimeter
5. A paperclip
6. A small aluminum foil dish
7. A scale
8. A graduated cylinder
9. A flask
10. Tongs
11. Safety glasses.
12. Lighter
Method: The first step was to push a single almond onto the end of a partially straightened paperclip. And then
we set the scale to zero, place a weighing dish and the almond/paper clip on the scale to record the total mass
(weight). Secondly, we measure out 100 ml of distilled water from the water bottle and pour it into the flask.
Place the flask stopper with thermometer inserted into the neck of the flask. The place the neck of the flask
through the hole in the calorimeter lid and rotate a quarter turn. Then we measure and record the initial
temperature of the water. (We record it after leave the thermometer in the water for a while before reading the
temperature.) Next, we position the weighing dish in front of the calorimeter and put on safety glasses to light
the almond. After a while, when the almond catches fire, carefully position the paperclip with the burning
almond on the weighing dish. The set up should be such that any ash or broken pieces of almond will fall onto
the weighing dish. Then carefully slide the weighing dish with the burning almond into the calorimeter so that

These days it is hard to underestimate the importance of marketing. Effective marketing is key to success,
especially in real estate. But social media marketing, content marketing, and ad development and purchasing
can all be very time consuming.
Content Marketing o We all know that content is king. We also know, or at least should, that unless you are
constantly posting new content to your website or blog, that you might as well not bother with having one. Your
virtual assistant can be a great help in finding, scheduling, and posting robust content to your website and/or
blog, freeing your marketing time up to write your own original content.
Social Media o Social media marketing is so important these days. Whatever people are saying about you and
your company on social media is often the first impression prospective customers and business associates get of
you. Managing social media can be a huge challenge and another way you can employee your virtual assistant
to your advantage.
Advertising o Creating flyers and direct mail advertising pieces can also be a major drain on your available
time. But, it's so important to your business. Well, why not put this on your virtual assistant as well?

Investigating The Energy Content Of Paraffin Essay
Introduction: The purpose of this lab was to determine the energy content of paraffin. This is done by measuring
heat combustion in kJ/g of fuel. It was also to compare experimental and theoretical energy values as well as
determine the specific heat of an unknown metal to identify it.
Results: When conducting part one of the experiment, Paraffin combustion, the candle melted quickly and the
flame atop the candle was very small. The wax pooled on top of the paraffin rather than following the canal dug
into the side. For the second part of the experiment, the specific heat of an unknown metal, the thermometer
spiked quickly and then slowly rose until it reached the peak temperature of 24.6 degrees.

Surge Irrigation Essay
Surge Irrigation
Surface irrigation is not new technology, but through research and the incorporation of some inventive
measures, advances in this area have provided the needed responses to make this type of irrigation increasingly
appealing. Not only is water quality a major concern, but current farmers must now monitor water quality and
provide adequate crop protection measures to insure a good yield. Water availability is affected by falling water
tables, droughts and stressed by the increasing water demand of growing urban populations (Moody 1993).
Likewise, local and federal governments create strict water utilization laws, limiting chemical concentrations of
particular substances in surface waters throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the alternative did not prove to be advantageous under certain circumstances, if a farmer required high
water volumes, the surge, low pressure center pivot and low energy precision application (LEPA) center pivot
types yielded favorable results at intermediate and high water requirements and dominated all other
technologies in all scenarios (Amosson 1995). Since LEPA and center pivot systems may be too expensive for a
small operation, the surge technique seems to be the only option.
Surge irrigation actually is not a new idea, but current methods of applying the water differ from its original
conception. A practice known as "bumping" began in the Great Plains. During this time, long rows characterized
a typical field and falling water tables prompted the need of water conservation. From necessity, farmers
realized that if they disrupted the stream furrow flow and then restarted it later, they could advance irrigation
water to the end of the field (Belt 1993). Although the process was very effective, moving pipe was very labor
intensive.
The actual term "surge irrigation" was created by Utah State University's J. Keller and G.E. Stringham (Belt
1993). Surge flow is the method of applying water in intermittent surges as opposed to using a continuous flow
pattern (Hill 1994). There are two application phases, the advance stage

The Effect Of Bacterial And Fungal Presence On Bacterial...
Rationale and Background.
To date, the majority of microbiological study of soils have centered on bacterial and fungal presence in the
context of plant mutualism [Figure 2]. Additionally, analyses of microbial biomass have typically utilized
indirect models, such as change in soil carbon levels, as a measurement of microbial growth dynamics (Holden
and Treseder 2014). When emphasizing ecological roles of microbes as nutrient cyclers, this is a useful
methodology. However, it has led to a void in understanding of viral significance in these systems as well as a
lack of detailed species–level identifications of bacterial and viral communities prior to and after fire events.
The few abundance assays completed regarding bacteria in soil indicate that one gram of soil contains 108 to
109 bacteria and 109 to 1010 viruses (Williamson 2005, Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). This incredibly high
number necessitates additional research, if only due to the fact that these organisms numerically overwhelm the
system (Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). It would be irresponsible to ignore such a significant portion of the
environment and attempt to come to ideal land management practices. It has become clear from even the broad
scale respiration and nutrient assays completed that bacterial and viral communities are not a monolith; in
different locations, phylogenetic community composition varies strongly (Williamson 2005, Goberna et al.

Environmental Planning in Australia
Executive summary
In Australia, environment and planning laws are integrally linked and legislation aims to balance the right to use
and develop property with the need to preserve and protect environmental quality. An intergenerational report is
presented every 5 years which shows the country's plans for next 40 years to preserve the environment which
includes different aspects like land, water, ecosystem etc. and use the resources in a way so that there are
enough resources for future generations. In this report we will be discussing how the intergenerational repot of
2015 is going to help to sustain the environment.
Introduction
Environmental planning is the process of evaluating how social, political, economic and governing factors affect
the natural environment when considering development. The goal of environmental planning is to come up with
a win–win situation for society and the environment. With successful environmental planning, society wins by
being able to use the area in productive ways, and the environment wins by being able to sustain itself for future
generations. It is about protecting natural ecosystem and environment, protecting and enhancing land, water and
air quality. It also includes promoting sustainability and waste reduction and Ensuring that actions result in a net
gain to natural systems.

A consumer 's desire for control is what influences their positive experience with personalized media content.
When you spin this fact to help you leverage your web content, you will find that all of your copy will start to
facilitate an environment where engagement starts to increase, and conversions take place more often.
How to Segment Returning Visitor Personalization
You can personalize web content with just about any information. When sending emails, you're naturally sure to
include the name of your recipient, but that's not the only thing you need to know to provide the ultimate
customization experience. Content Marketing Institute Recommends that you categorize readers by the
following traits:
Location – If you know that it's winter in Missouri, but your viewer is in Florida, you don't want to be talking
about cold weather. This only re–affirms the fact that the conversation isn't personal. Use location in your
segmentation to ensure the best UX everywhere you can.
Interest – This point references a user's interest in your products and services. You can gauge this factor by
understanding what's going on in the bigger picture. What niche are you in? Now, what niche is your reader in?
If you sell children's toys, but your reader is a male athlete in his early 20s, you may have to do a little more
lead nurturing than with a homemaker.

Two basic types of fireworks are the firecracker and sparkler. Firecrackers are simply made of rolled paper tubes
with black powder, which is made of a strong oxider, and a fuse, which adds heat to the oxider, resulting in a
"boom". Sparklers are just a little bit different––they are essentially a long fuse with black powder around it, so
they stay lit longer and show color. The color comes from a reaction with specific metals like aluminium,
copper, and zinc(How Are Fireworks Made?). The fireworks that most professional shows contain are known as
the aerial fireworks. They are normally made of shells containing black powder, the mortar itself, stars, shell,
bursting charge, and fuse. The stars in the fireworks are spread out in the shell and they create the sparkling like
figure. The bursting charge is in the center and when the lit fuse hits it, the firework explodes (How Are
Fireworks Made?). Some also use multi break shells to create different

Customary System to the Metric System Procedure We went to a batting cage and set up the area so that the
front of the rubber was 60'6" (18.4404m) from the back tip of home plate. We placed a pitching screen to the
left of home plate from the pitcher's point of view. Behind the pitching screen, one of us, the "radar controller",
had the radar gun to measure the velocity of the pitch in mph. If the radar gun had the option to measure the
velocity in m/s, we would have used that option because that is the unit of measurement for the equations used
in this project. Another one of us, the pitcher, was on the rubber waiting for everyone else to be ready for the

the release of the ball, the radar gun was aimed and held steady directly towards the pitcher. Spontaneously, the

A Report On Plant Water Stress
9. Introduction:
An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conventional methods of estimating leaf water content in the field are time consuming and location specific.
Remote sensing is an effective alternative to field sampling for the retrieval of leaf water content, being non–
destructive and providing continuous spatial coverage of a large area (Sepulcre–Cantó et al., 2006; Ullah et al.,
2012c). Plant water status can be assessed remotely by measuring canopy reflectance, since they change in
response to crop water content (Pen˜uelas et al., 1997; Ustin et al., 1998; Stimson et al., 2005). As a technique,
canopy spectral reflectance offers a number of advantages, such as easy and quick measurements, integration at
the canopy level and the fact that additional parameters can be estimated simultaneously via a series of diverse
spectral indices (i.e. photosynthetic capacity, leaf area index, intercepted radiation, and chlorophyll content)
(Araus et al., 2001). Given its versatility, canopy reflectance is a valuable tool for high throughput phenotyping
(Montes et al., 2007; Chapman, 2008). Leaf water status has been successfully estimated using the near infrared
and shortwave infrared (Zygielbaum et al., 2009). In contrast, the mid and thermal infrared (2.5–14 μm) domain
is mostly ignored because of a number of challenges, including unavailability of spectroradiometers (i.e.
sensitive to the mid to thermal infrared), and the subtle variations in

This is one such story. This book is based on a real man and his struggles in life from his perspective. He seems
ordinary at first. As the story unfolds there are some incredible discoveries made about what makes a good man
and the sometimes seemingly impossible process in which one is formed. It's a story of life, death, struggle,
crushed hearts, success and love for all to enjoy! Brace yourself for an emotional rollercoaster ride driven by
personally invested interest. Take great detail in reading and feel what he feels, bury yourself in experiencing
what he experiences and use what you learn from this man to better yourself and others. Share his story to help
others; this is his most grand desire. A single life changed for the better is one of his greatest rewards. Many
people would not consider their lives interesting enough to capture and hold an audience's interest. I chose to
write about this man because I don't think he has led a boring life by any definition of the words. Where he had
initially failed to see the value of its content and did not see the incredible challenges he has overcome to build

Nutrient Content And Its Influence On Parents '...
This review examines the literature on nutrient content claims and its influence on parents' perceptions and
intention of purchasing energy dense nutritionally poor food products. Evidence from the literature suggests that
nutrient content claims are often misunderstood by parents and usually lead to parents thinking that energy
dense nutritionally poor food products are healthier, of greater quality, and also may lead to health benefits not
specified on the food product package but commonly associated with the nutrient content claim. However,
parents who read the nutrition facts panel or who are exposed to a counter advertisement of the nutrient content
claim are more likely to identify energy dense nutritionally poor food products and ... Show more content on

These labels are more likely to grab attention when consumers are under a time pressure.4 Even though the
efforts are to be seen as a easy and more efficient way to purchase better quality food for their children,
corporations and their marketing teams have used nutrient content claims to advertise their products to give the
appearance that their products are "healthier" to increase sales.3 An example of this can be seen in some of
General Mill's cereals, where they present the nutrient content claim 100% whole grain, which may encourage
parents to buy these cereals, even though the cereal may have more sugar than what is recommended for
children per day.5 What we know now is that parents, when grocery shopping, may not always have health on
the mind when choosing between food options for

currently available to produce wines with lower alcohol (ethanol) levels was undertaken. These comprise
technologies to reduce the initial sugar levels in the grape juice; yeasts to produce less alcohol by diverting
sugar metabolism to glycerol production; and post–fermentation technologies to remove some all of the alcohol
from the wine. Some of the legal issues around alcohol taxation and wine labelling are outlined, particularly
those affecting export. The major technologies are discussed, along with their limitations, particularly with
regard to the effects on sensory attributes (aroma and flavour). The potential for yeast strains with lower
conversion efficiencies is outlined, both for selected strains, for non–Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeasts, and for
genetic modification. A summary of the application of reduced alcohol technologies

The amount of insulation an object has will affect the amount of light it will absorb and the amount of thermal heat conduction an object will reflect. (Lee H., 2011). Thermal heat conduction is the transfer of internal energy, which is due to different temperature rates. The color of an object doesn't affect insulation. Insulation is usually the opposite of colors being absorbed and reflected against light. Instead, insulation will only affect an object's color depending on the temperature the object is being pressured by. For example, if an object has a dark color and there is a high temperature being pressured onto the dark object, the object will insulate heat inside. If the dark object was being pressured by a lower temperature the object would not insulate heat inside of the object because dark colors only insulate high temperatures (The University of ... This diversity means that solar power is an option different power systems important food worldwide. In fact, interest in solar power systems has been increasing in recent years worldwide. This interest to several factors, such as environmental awareness, effort should be to minimize the dependence on non –renewable fossil fuels countries and international agreements that require the reduction of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere of the earth. Heat storage technologies, systems and applications are studied in the field of solar energy. One way to collect and store solar energy by using solar ponds can be used to provide thermal energy for various applications, such as process and space heating, water desalination, refrigeration, drying and power generation. Thermal energy storage has always been the most important energy storage option. Solar ponds are a classic application of thermal energy storage and efficiency essentially depends on the storage capacity of the fluid, Thermo physical properties of pond conditions and surroundings. Recently, attention has been paid to friendly sources to the environment, sustainable energy, such as solar energy. In this respect, solar ponds seem to be a potential for the application method. Planning We will be using 6 different fuels to heat up 100ml of water, and find out the changes of the temperature. We will measure the temperatures of the water before and after the experiment. We will burn heat the water for exactly 2 minutes, and check the changes in temperature. The change in temperature will allow us to work out the energy given off the fuel by using this formula: Mass of water x 4.2 (water's specific heat capacity) x temperature change = energy transferred from the fuel to the water When the fuels are burnt, energy is given off. Adenosine binds onto receptors on the brain cells, which causes people to feel the tiredness and laziness; however, because the two molecules are very similar, caffeine too is able to block the receptors. The excess adenosine is converted into adrenaline which most people are used to experiencing when drinking coffee, a sense of alertness and energy for about 4 – 6 hours. It also helps the natural stimulants work better, so, in a way, caffeine is a stimulant for stimulants. All of this information culminates in the fact that these stimulants that are activated due to the caffeine are what cause the heart to beat rapidly, either too fast for the daphnia to survive, or just enough that they are more active, like humans are when ingesting caffeine. Construction Of Roads For Black Cotton Soil INTRODUCTION : Construction of roads in black cotton soil areas has been problematic due to their low bearing capacity and the detrimental effects of volume instability arising from swelling and shrinkage characteristics of such soils during wet and dry seasons. Such problems assume greater acuteness where the water table is high and clayey subsoil stratum is thick. A Perfect example of a case history study can be considered from "Gudivada–Bantumilli" State Highway, which passes through a plain terrain surrounded with paddy fields, and constructed on a black cotton soil embankment of 3mts height. The entire stretch of the road is located in the delta region of Godavari and Krishna rivers, of the south eastern part of India. The pavement on the embankment was in a state of extreme distress. Lateral shift and settlement in embankment were the common soil failure features observed. TWO METHODOLOGIES USING LIME : Method 1 – Injection of Lime Slurry Method 2 – Placement of Lime Piles Method 1 : To verify the efficacy of the technique, laboratory experiments were conducted at "Central Road Research Institute – India" on a test embankment of 2.5m x 2.0m x 2.5m made from the locally available silty soil having a dry density of 16 kN/m2. Lime slurry was injected in one side of the embankment. The injected lime contained 30% lime by weight in the mixture of lime–water. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Group 10 Page : 2 ... • 37. Plant Water Stress Is A Major Factor Affecting Crop Yield Plant water stress is a major factor affecting crop yield. With the ever–increasing human population, there is a constant stress exerted on water resources (McGwire et al., 2000). So irrigation to avoid or relieve this stress must be done judiciously, not only to avoid environmental problems such as groundwater pollution and runoff, but also to keep the cost down on a limited and expensive resource. Soil moisture sensors are often used for precision irrigation control purposes. However, soil moisture sensors can only assess the degree of water deficit stress that is imposed to the plants, but not necessarily the level of water deficit stress that is actually experienced by the plants (Sinclair and Ludlow, 1985). An assessment of leaf water content, on the other hand, may yield more detailed insight into the plant's actual physiological response to a certain degree of low soil moisture content, and how water deficit stress is in fact experienced by the plant. Leaf water content is a key indicator of plant health, vigor and photosynthetic efficiency (Harry, 2006). Accurate retrieval of plant water content plays a crucial role in assessing drought risk (Bauer et al., 1986), select genotypes in breeding for water stress (Munjal and Dhanda, 2005), predicting wildfire and monitoring the physiological condition of vegetation (Peñuelas and Filella, 1998) and biomass (Cho et al., 2007; Mutanga et al., 2005; Ullah et al., 2012c), while in the agriculture domain it helps in scheduling ... Automated Drip Irrigation System Using Cloud Computing Essay Automated Drip Irrigation System Using Cloud Computing Prof. P.S.Bangare1,Ruturaj Patil2,Zia Khatib3,Indrajit Kadu4,Kaustubh Mangalgiri5 1, 2,3,4,5 Department of Information Technology, Sinhgad Academy of Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University, India . Abstract: Agriculture uses 85% of available freshwater resources worldwide and this percentage will continue to be dominant in water consumption because of population growth and increased food demand. In India agriculture, primarily depends on the monsoon, which is not a sufficient source of water. So irrigation is employed in the agriculture area. This paper targets to offer a cloud based drip irrigation system to aid the farmers. The proposed system uses a microcontroller, sensors, and a cloud server to provide real time network with field over a Wi–Fi network. The proposed system aims to conserve water up to a large extent by providing automatic and manual modes of irrigation. The system can be monitored by the user on an android application. Keywords: Cloud, Internet of Things, Sensors, Irrigation System . 1. Introduction Drip irrigation is an artificial technique of providing water to the roots of the plant. It is also called micro irrigation. An automated irrigation system is proposed in order to facilitate efficient irrigation where water and labour scarcity conditions prevail. For high reliability, robustness and limited resources, resistive sensors are chosen. Automated Drip irrigation system is based on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It helps us find jobs, market our products without ever leaving our home or workplace. Today, thanks to social media, the world is truly at our fingertips. Social media is not always about talking to friends or family, but it is also about internet advertising and marketing, which the media loves to do. Internet marketing, occurs when you buy items using "apps" on your phone. Some "non–internet digital channels" can be used to purchase items as well. Items can be purchased simply by calling a certain number that was heard or seen on the radio, over a billboard or even on TV. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where do we find the people we wish to reach? How do we enter the conversation with them at an appropriate time? How do we earn the customers trust? How can we be useful to them? How do they ask their customers on suggestions for selling their product? All of these questions help marketing strategies to define their strategy on social media. The purpose of a business company is to provide a wide range of services focusing on different aspects of the visual arts. The layout and design of the website is vital to the success of online marketing. It is all too familiar to many of us to visit poorly designed websites. They appear disorganized and ill–planned. Visitors can't wait to leave to find clear and easy navigable sites that welcome users and make the web experience enjoyable and ultimately profitable for the company. There have been many studies done to determine the key components of a successful business website. One study, published in Business Source Premier conducted statistical tests to determine if there was a difference in website preference between Asian cultures and white–American culture. The purpose of the study was to determine if web design was sensitive to differences in culture. The results of the study were not too surprising. Basically, Asian culture and traditional business culture is paternalistic and focuses on business models which are hierarchical or top–down in nature. Therefore when dealing with Asian ... Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent and severe droughts due to climate change has stimulated research into water–saving irrigation strategies aiming at producing more 'crop per drop' (Morison et al., 2008). The trend in recent years has been towards conversion of surface irrigation to drip irrigation to improve water use efficiency, plant quality and, crop yield. Drip irrigation systems have increasingly been used to supply irrigation water, fertilizers, and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees due to their ability to enable highly localized application of water and nutrients to crops (Kandelous et al., 2011; Selim et al., 2013). Drip systems can achieve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saito and Kitahara (2012) used ground penetration radar to predict the changes in water content under subsurface drip irrigation. Studies also used disturbed soil samples by gravimetric method (Al–Mefleh and Abu–Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al., 2015) and point based soil water sensors such as TDR (da Silva et al., 2009; dos Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (Fernández–Gálvez and Simmonds, 2006) to estimate SWC variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have investigated two dimensional (2D) wetting patterns changes while three dimensional (3D) wetting patterns could provide more insights into the changes of wetted radius and depth under drip irrigation. This is due to the fact that spatial variations in soil properties induce spatial variations in water distribution patterns between drippers (Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements to detect wetted soil volumes around drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number of measurement points distributed vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor variations in wetting patterns which is laborious and time–consuming and practically infeasible sometimes if point based sensors used. Therefore, it is necessary to explore alternative soil water sensing techniques which could provide spatially dense measurements at small to field scales. Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) systems are optoelectronic devices which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Conclusion: Climate change is proving to have a severe negative impact on our coastlines. Manly Beach is a very precious beach to Australians because of its physical, environmental, cultural, social and economic values. The NSW government and the local council are now acting to protect Manly Beach from further coastal erosion. If no action is taken, we may lose our beach totally and that would be disastrous to the people, the land and the ecosystem. Beach nourishment is one way of replenishing our beach. However, more need to be done, such as habitat protection and refurbishment projects to restore the health of our coastal ecosystems. This requires planning, funding and time. And then we set the scale to zero, place a weighing dish and the almond/paper clip on the scale to record the total mass (weight). Secondly, we measure out 100 ml of distilled water from the water bottle and pour it into the flask. Place the flask stopper with thermometer inserted into the neck of the flask. The place the neck of the flask through the hole in the calorimeter lid and rotate a quarter turn. Then we measure and record the initial temperature of the water. (We record it after leave the thermometer in the water for a while before reading the temperature.) Next, we position the weighing dish in front of the calorimeter and put on safety glasses to light the almond. After a while, when the almond catches fire, carefully position the paperclip with the burning almond on the weighing dish. The set up should be such that any ash or broken pieces of almond will fall onto the weighing dish. Then carefully slide the weighing dish with the burning almond into the calorimeter so that the ... This is done by measuring heat combustion in kJ/g of fuel. It was also to compare experimental and theoretical energy values as well as determine the specific heat of an unknown metal to identify it. Results: When conducting part one of the experiment, Paraffin combustion, the candle melted quickly and the flame atop the candle was very small. The wax pooled on top of the paraffin rather than following the canal dug into the side. For the second part of the experiment, the specific heat of an unknown metal, the thermometer spiked quickly and then slowly rose until it reached the peak temperature of 24.6 degrees. Surge Irrigation Essay Surge Irrigation Surface irrigation is not new technology, but through research and the incorporation of some inventive measures, advances in this area have provided the needed responses to make this type of irrigation increasingly appealing. Not only is water quality a major concern, but current farmers must now monitor water quality and provide adequate crop protection measures to insure a good yield. Water availability is affected by falling water tables, droughts and stressed by the increasing water demand of growing urban populations (Moody 1993). Likewise, local and federal governments create strict water utilization laws, limiting chemical concentrations of particular substances in surface waters throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the alternative did not prove to be advantageous under certain circumstances, if a farmer required high water volumes, the surge, low pressure center pivot and low energy precision application (LEPA) center pivot types yielded favorable results at intermediate and high water requirements and dominated all other technologies in all scenarios (Amosson 1995). Since LEPA and center pivot systems may be too expensive for a small operation, the surge technique seems to be the only option. Surge irrigation actually is not a new idea, but current methods of applying the water differ from its original conception. A practice known as "bumping" began in the Great Plains. During this time, long rows characterized a typical field and falling water tables prompted the need of water conservation. From necessity, farmers realized that if they disrupted the stream furrow flow and then restarted it later, they could advance irrigation water to the end of the field (Belt 1993). Although the process was very effective, moving pipe was very labor intensive. The actual term "surge irrigation" was created by Utah State University's J. Keller and G.E. Stringham (Belt 1993). Surge flow is the method of applying water in intermittent surges as opposed to using a continuous flow pattern (Hill 1994). There are two application phases, the advance stage ... • 109. The Effect Of Bacterial And Fungal Presence On Bacterial... Rationale and Background. To date, the majority of microbiological study of soils have centered on bacterial and fungal presence in the context of plant mutualism [Figure 2]. Additionally, analyses of microbial biomass have typically utilized indirect models, such as change in soil carbon levels, as a measurement of microbial growth dynamics (Holden and Treseder 2014). When emphasizing ecological roles of microbes as nutrient cyclers, this is a useful methodology. However, it has led to a void in understanding of viral significance in these systems as well as a lack of detailed species–level identifications of bacterial and viral communities prior to and after fire events. The few abundance assays completed regarding bacteria in soil indicate that one gram of soil contains 108 to 109 bacteria and 109 to 1010 viruses (Williamson 2005, Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). This incredibly high number necessitates additional research, if only due to the fact that these organisms numerically overwhelm the system (Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). It would be irresponsible to ignore such a significant portion of the environment and attempt to come to ideal land management practices. Environmental Planning in Australia Executive summary In Australia, environment and planning laws are integrally linked and legislation aims to balance the right to use and develop property with the need to preserve and protect environmental quality. An intergenerational report is presented every 5 years which shows the country's plans for next 40 years to preserve the environment which includes different aspects like land, water, ecosystem etc. and use the resources in a way so that there are enough resources for future generations. In this report we will be discussing how the intergenerational repot of 2015 is going to help to sustain the environment. Introduction Environmental planning is the process of evaluating how social, political, economic and governing factors affect the natural environment when considering development. The goal of environmental planning is to come up with a win–win situation for society and the environment. With successful environmental planning, society wins by being able to use the area in productive ways, and the environment wins by being able to sustain itself for future generations. It is about protecting natural ecosystem and environment, protecting and enhancing land, water and air quality. It also includes promoting sustainability and waste reduction and Ensuring that actions result in a net gain to natural systems. Content Marketing Institute Recommends that you categorize readers by the following traits: Location – If you know that it's winter in Missouri, but your viewer is in Florida, you don't want to be talking about cold weather. This only re–affirms the fact that the conversation isn't personal. Use location in your segmentation to ensure the best UX everywhere you can. Interest – This point references a user's interest in your products and services. You can gauge this factor by understanding what's going on in the bigger picture. What niche are you in? Two basic types of fireworks are the firecracker and sparkler. Firecrackers are simply made of rolled paper tubes with black powder, which is made of a strong oxider, and a fuse, which adds heat to the oxider, resulting in a "boom". Sparklers are just a little bit different––they are essentially a long fuse with black powder around it, so they stay lit longer and show color. The color comes from a reaction with specific metals like aluminium, copper, and zinc(How Are Fireworks Made?). The fireworks that most professional shows contain are known as the aerial fireworks. They are normally made of shells containing black powder, the mortar itself, stars, shell, bursting charge, and fuse. The stars in the fireworks are spread out in the shell and they create the sparkling like figure. The bursting charge is in the center and when the lit fuse hits it, the firework explodes (How Are Fireworks Made?). Some also use multi break shells to create different ... An automated irrigation system is developed to improve water use for agriculture yields. Energy conservation is a very critical issue in wireless sensor networks. For monitoring the energy consumption MAC protocols plays a very major role. With the help sensors and simple circuitry this work purposes low–cost product, which can be bought even by a poor farmer. The structure has a dispersed sensor nodes (SN) comprising of soil moisture, humidity and temperature sensors located in the soil and base station (BS). BS will gather data from SN. If the collected data in the BS is less than threshold value then BS will perform a needed action for irrigation. In this project, a TDMA based algorithm and single hop wireless communication are used to provide better energy efficiency. Network Simulator–3 (NS–3) has been used for the exploration of the algorithm. Keywords– TDMA scheduling, Wireless sensor networks, Energy efficiency, Automatic irrigation I. INTRODUCTION ... Customary System to the Metric System Procedure We went to a batting cage and set up the area so that the front of the rubber was 60'6" (18.4404m) from the back tip of home plate. We placed a pitching screen to the left of home plate from the pitcher's point of view. Behind the pitching screen, one of us, the "radar controller", had the radar gun to measure the velocity of the pitch in mph. If the radar gun had the option to measure the velocity in m/s, we would have used that option because that is the unit of measurement for the equations used in this project. Another one of us, the pitcher, was on the rubber waiting for everyone else to be ready for the pitch. The last one of us, the recorder, was behind and to the side of the pitcher getting ready to write down the data from the radar gun. When everyone was ready, the pitcher threw the ball towards home plate. Just before the release of the ball, the radar gun was aimed and held steady directly towards the pitcher. Spontaneously, the "trigger" was held down until the ball passed the "radar controller". The "radar control" then read the velocity aloud so the recorder could write down that ... • 137. A Report On Plant Water Stress 9. Introduction: Plant water stress is a major factor affecting crop yield. An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conventional methods of estimating leaf water content in the field are time consuming and location specific. Remote sensing is an effective alternative to field sampling for the retrieval of leaf water content, being non– destructive and providing continuous spatial coverage of a large area (Sepulcre–Cantó et al., 2006; Ullah et al., 2012c). Plant water status can be assessed remotely by measuring canopy reflectance, since they change in response to crop water content (Pen˜uelas et al., 1997; Ustin et al., 1998; Stimson et al., 2005). As a technique, canopy spectral reflectance offers a number of advantages, such as easy and quick measurements, integration at the canopy level and the fact that additional parameters can be estimated simultaneously via a series of diverse spectral indices (i.e. photosynthetic capacity, leaf area index, intercepted radiation, and chlorophyll content) (Araus et al., 2001). Given its versatility, canopy reflectance is a valuable tool for high throughput phenotyping (Montes et al., 2007; Chapman, 2008). Leaf water status has been successfully estimated using the near infrared and shortwave infrared (Zygielbaum et al., 2009). In contrast, the mid and thermal infrared (2.5–14 μm) domain is mostly ignored because of a number of challenges, including unavailability of spectroradiometers (i.e. sensitive to the mid to thermal infrared), and the subtle variations in ... This review examines the literature on nutrient content claims and its influence on parents' perceptions and intention of purchasing energy dense nutritionally poor food products. Evidence from the literature suggests that nutrient content claims are often misunderstood by parents and usually lead to parents thinking that energy dense nutritionally poor food products are healthier, of greater quality, and also may lead to health benefits not specified on the food product package but commonly associated with the nutrient content claim. However, parents who read the nutrition facts panel or who are exposed to a counter advertisement of the nutrient content claim are more likely to identify energy dense nutritionally poor food products and ... Abstract A review of the main technologies currently available to produce wines with lower alcohol (ethanol) levels was undertaken. These comprise technologies to reduce the initial sugar levels in the grape juice; yeasts to produce less alcohol by diverting sugar metabolism to glycerol production; and post–fermentation technologies to remove some all of the alcohol from the wine. Some of the legal issues around alcohol taxation and wine labelling are outlined, particularly those affecting export. The major technologies are discussed, along with their limitations, particularly with regard to the effects on sensory attributes (aroma and flavour). The potential for yeast strains with lower conversion efficiencies is outlined, both for selected strains, for non–Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeasts, and for genetic modification.
