ECON 335 14 April 2020 Project Proposal The Economic effect of a United Africa as One Country and Its Implications on the Global Economy Abstract The purpose of this research is to investigate how having Africa as one country would change tremendously the economic situation of the continent and determine the consequences that it would have on the international plan as well. Africa has great potentials, including 55 countries, a young dynamics population, innumerable natural resources; but it’s still far behind compared to great powers like the United State or European Union. Our question is then, what if Africa was one country like the USA or if it had free trade agreements like the European Union (with free circulation of goods and services and a single currency)? In our research paper, we will talk about the advantages and disadvantages. But first, we need to present Africa and its components, then take a comparative approach with the USA and EU to demonstrate the impact of a united Africa from an economic point of view. Finally, show the limits that stop the realization of such an idea. .
