2. This image is striking for various reasons. Firstly, this
image stands out as everyone is either looking or
trying to touch the footballer, which shows his
importance.
Furthermore, the background is full of people as it’s at
a stadium and even though there’s lots of various
things in the background we are not distracted from
the man in the middle, as they all link to make him
stand out.
Moreover, the Image implies “The rule of third” as the
footballer is in the middle of all four points. This makes
him stand out to us as he’s the direct gaze. Plus he’s
the one who won the game for the team so everyone
respects him. Therefore, the man in the middle has to
stand out, which he does.
This image is including a narrow depth of field as the image is focused by the footballer but then looses it’s focous the
further away it gets. There is a high lighting on this image as it’s natural light just as everything in this image is natura l.
This image is caught in the moment, which also makes it striking as everything here is happening it’s not staged. The
people trying to touch him or shake his hand really do show great respect for him and it’s not faked. That’s what makes this
images so great. As it was straight after a game which, they won.
3. This image is striking for various reasons. Firstly, this
image stands out as shutter speed is at a high capacity
to have captured this image in the perfect moment.
The moment is perfect as Ronaldo's face is in-between
the net and the goal keepers arms if the image was
taken at any other time his face would have been
hidden. Therefore, it’s a great captured moment.
Furthermore, the goal keeper is diving for the ball and
we don’t know if he saved it or not, so it keeps us
guessing. This is also why this image is so striking.
When taking sports photos they have to be perfect or
they won’t be used. Therefore, this image is great as
the timing was perfect and this doesn’t happen all the
time.
This image is including a narrow depth of field as most of the background is on focus and as it comes forward towards the
net and ball they aren’t as focused. Also, the lighting on this image is suttle as it’s not too so we can see every detail in the
players faces on the pitch.
Lastly, the image is of two famous, well known footballers. Both footballers are important so are captured in this moving
image. If the timing had been any different on this image, it wouldn’t have been as effective and this is why the image is
so striking.
4. This image is striking for various reasons. Firstly, this
image stands out as the position of the camera made
the man look larger and more powerful.
This is intentional because the man in this picture is
Oscar Pistorial. He was the fastest man in the
Paralympics and was the first Paralympic to race in the
Olympics therefore, he was seen as strong and
powerful because he took part in something so big.
Furthermore, the background is plain so we’re not
loosing concentration on the women in the middle of
the frame. Also, he’s wearing the BT logo therefore, I
believe this image would be used in an advert.
This image is including a broad depth of field as
everything is on focus and nothings blurred out. Also,
the lighting on this image is bright as the daylight is
bright, making him stand out more as he is outlined.
Lastly, I believe this image is staged as the position he’s in isn’t realistic when you’re running. Also, you’d see some of t he
movement within the image whereas, there isn’t any.
6. This image in my opinion is striking for various
reasons. One of which would be the fact that the
woman is smiling and placing her hand in the air
like a celebration which keeps up guessing to if
she won, or is just happy to have come where
she did in the race.
Also, in this image the main focus is the woman
and nothing can be viewed in the background.
Therefore, there is a narrow depth of field as
everything is out of focus apart from the women.
Not only that but the lighting is focusing on her
so she stands out even more. Furthermore, the
position she’s in is strong which implies she’s a
strong person. Therefore, the image is even
more striking.
There doesn’t need to be a rule of third in this
image as she is the only one featured within it.
It’s a close up of her so she’s the main focus
because there’s nothing else to view.
Lastly, this is a captured moment in the
Paralympics and to take an image in this much
detail with a strong effect is brilliant. I believe
this image tells a story and that’s why it’s one of
my favourite images of Toms.
7. This image in my opinion is striking for various reasons. One of which would be the fact that so much is
happening in one image.
Also, in this image no-one is the focus it’s about the moment which is taking place. The man in the middle
looks like he has just scored a goal as the expression on his face is filled with joy. However, in the audience
many people look shocked and there’s someone on the ground by the right of the image. This implies to me
that something bad has happened. Therefore, this image is striking because a story can be told from it.
The depth of field on this image is broad as everything is in focus and you can see every detail in this image.
This image is also using a quick shutter which Tom usually does so he’s captured this image in the moment,
which is easily noticeable.
Lastly this image is most striking to me because the reactions vary from different areas in the image.
Therefore, I think it’s intriguing and interesting.
